I started taking Bystolic 2.5 weeks ago, stared with 5MG and moved to 10 MG off amlodipine-benaz 10/40MG, blood pressure has slowly increased, no is at 160/92. My heart beat was in the 60s now is at 50. Some dizzy spells, a little more loose than usual in the bathroom. I don't believe Bystolic is effective for me. It may require lowering to 5MG and adding back my old med. ## Hello, I don't know if you're interested, but there are many natural alternatives for Blood Pressure control that in my opinion can be just as effective as prescription medication (minus the side effects) if taken seriously. I personally had severe hypertension at 150/90, but was able to control it by controlling my eating habits and exercising. What works for me may not work for everyone, but my initial ...

Does ativan / lorazepam lower blood pressure at 1 mg tab? I am starting new bp meds that haven't kicked in yet. I was weaning off ativan but felt pressure was a bit high so I took a whole 1 mg for the first time in a week. I was down to 1 1/2 for the whole day. The ER gave me 2 mg to lower my blood pressure and it worked but I don't want to take 2. Will 1 reduce it some? ## ativan lowered my blood pressure really fast to where I almost kicked off with only 1 mg of this crazy medication I thought clonazepam was bad , but lorazepam take's the cake... Back to Clonazepam for me ... screw ativan = lorazepam... ## Wow, that is a very unusual reaction. In response to the original question, yes it can help to lower blood pressure. As a matter of fact, it is sometimes used for those ...

I'm having blood pressure of 130/50 and fasting blood-sugar of 110. Is it safe under the above condition to continue razel f5? Is it responsible for lower bp? ## 50 is normal low for an athlete or while resting in bed but, if you are standing and moving about and its that low then you need to go to the hospital. ## This medication is used to help lower cholesterol levels. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle aches. Are you on any other medications? What time of day are you checking your blood pressure? Have you consulted your doctor?

SOMETIMES AT NIGHT MY PRESSURE WILL SKYROCKET TO ABOUT 235/105. I DOUBLE DOSE MY MEDS BUT IT STILL TAKES AROUND 3-4 HOURS TO GET IT DOWN; NOT LOW BUT LIVABLE. I TAKE CLONIDINE .02 LOSARTAN 100 MG AND SOMETIMES AMLODIPINE 5 MG. ## Actually, the only thing bringing it down after 3 to 4 hours is time, not the medications. These medications don't work like that to bring it down that fast, they take time to work, which requires consistent dosing for 4 to 6 weeks to have an effect, occasionally doubling up, just when it spikes does nothing. Have you consulted your doctor about the spikes? What are you doing that may make it elevate like that? You most likely need a med adjustment in the evening, which will probably be a higher dosage of one of them. One that you could ask your doctor abou...

What would be the best medicine for someone with very low bloodpressure ## Hello, Sam! How are you? There is no specific medication that is best for everyone that may have low blood pressure, it depends on what's causing it, what symptoms they are having if any, their overall health, other medications they may be taking and etc. as explained by the NIH. The biggest issue would be if the low blood pressure is causing symptoms, such as fainting, dizziness and etc., or it is due to some underlying medical condition that requires treatment. If there are no dangerous symptoms and if it is just natural for the person to be low, then no treatment may be necessary. However, if they are having problems, correcting the underlying condition that's causing it, if there is one, such as dehyd...

My age is 48 and my blood pressure remains at 150 past one year I am on telmisartan and amlodipine combined with bisoprolol 5mg. Suggest how to lower my blood pressure ## Hello, Krishna! How are you? What types of foods do you eat? If they are heavily salted and very fatty, that will play a role in causing your blood pressure to be high. It can also be affected by someone's being overweight and being sedentary. So, if you're carrying a few extra pounds, you should work on losing them, preferable via proper diet and exercise, since those both also play a role in lowering it. And have you talked to your doctor? These just might not be the right medications for you to take, you may need to try something else. ## Since last one year my bp is 150/75. 71 yrs old with 5days old fever ## Is the relevant person on any medications? How high is the fever? Is the patient showing any symptoms, which the NIH lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, or fainting? While these numbers are slightly low, they are not usually dangerous, the main concern is if someone is experiencing dangerous symptoms.

Im on prexum 4mg 3 days back i took my pill and just bout 15 minits later i passed out is it possible that my b/pressure were normal and the pill brought it down to fast, can your b/pressure go back to normal again? ## How long have you been on it? If you're blood pressure has been at normal levels on this dose, it's possible that the dose is now too high and you may need to take a lower one. Usually, higher doses are used at first, to bring someone's blood pressure down as fast as possible, then the doctor should be monitoring them regularly and they should be checking it themselves, so the dosage can be adjusted as needed. I take amlodipine besylate 10mg + lisinopril 40mg + metoprolol 25mg, but because it is a holiday, of course, my blood pressure is sky high, 197/101 at the lowest. How can I lower it fast? I need help. ## Hi Babs, Sorry to hear about your condition. I think from an outside perspective, the most I can suggest is to simply find ways to remain calm and stress-free throughout the day. It's always easier said than done, but if it were me, I may consider practicing meditation, taking a moment to stop whatever I'm doing & giving myself a break from reality (or other relaxing strategies you come up with). Some deep breathing exercises may be beneficial as well. Also, from a dietary standpoint, I'd find ways to cut back on sodium, heavily processed foods and any artificial ingredi...

20 years ago I was blacking out over a period of time so went to the ER. Had BP of 21/14. Literally. How common is this? I was awake and they asked me why I was still alive. I still wonder to this day. Took me 60 days to get back to normal. Docs concluded allergy. Should I be dead? ## @klcbva, This is honestly the first time I've ever heard of anyone having a blood pressure THAT low (21/41). So it's probably not very common at all and it's no wonder you were blacking out on a regular basis because of it... Information from the mayoclinic suggests that big plunges in blood pressure due to allergic reactions can be life threatening. But as to how close you may have been to death, I haven't found any specific details mentioning exact figures. Although my guess is that you w...

I have been prescribed ramipril 5, telmisartan 40, losartan sodium 50 at different occasions for blood pressure. I want to know is there any harm in changing the medicines from time to time. Or one should stick to one medicine for BP. Please let me have your suggestion in this regard. Please note that alongwith this BP Medicine I have been taking Glibenclamide5mg+Metformin 500 mg (for diabetic) ## Hello, Kaaliya! How are you? You should take whichever medication your doctor has prescribed, unless they tell you to change it or to stop taking it. These types of medications take awhile to reach their full levels of effectiveness in your body, so switching too frequently wouldn't actually give them a chance to work. Which one are you currently taking?

I have been taking Coveram 5/5 for some time now and had my blood pressure checked about 3 weeks ago (for an insurance that I was taking out). My blood pressure was 85/60 which I believe is very low. I have since stopped taking the Coveram as I was afraid that it was causing my blood pressure to drop too much. I had also been taking a product called Stress-Away (made by TIBB) and wonder if this might have caused this reaction. Since that very low reading, i have also stopped taking the Stress-Away tablets and have felt no ill effects from the lack of either tablet. I am a little concerned about this and was wondering if I am doing any damage to my system. ## Rather than stopping the medication, it would have been better to speak to your doctor, since letting your condition continue untr...

I am so sleepy after taking belviq. Had to reduce to once a day. My blood pressure is low, too. Does anyone have same side effect? ## Hello, Alex! How are you? The low blood pressure is very odd, usually Belviq causes the opposite issue. What are you blood pressure readings? The same for the drowsiness, but there is a chance it could be causing low blood sugar and that may doing it. This might not be the right medication for you to take, you may need to try something else. ## That is not true. Belviq does not cause an increase in blood pressure. ## I took Beliviq two (2) days, felt terrible. I took my blood pressure about an hour after taking Beliviq the second evening and it was very low 72/54.... The next morning is was up to 86/66. I didn't take it the next day and my blood press...

I had extremely high blood pressure so my doctor put me on an extra blood pressure pill. I'm already taking losartan potassium and Metoprolol. this new one I can't remember the name, but it's something like Triamterene and Hydrochlorothiazide in combination. I've been on it for 2 weeks, feeling very light headed recently, feeling terrible, I have no energy and extreme anxiety. I've been taking two Hydrocodone tens for hip pain for some months now and my blood pressure today was down from 150 / 110 to 90 / 60. I'm freezing and shaky and have high anxiety. I'm a 57-year-old male. My doctor told me to drink a couple Gatorades and some chicken soup because I can't afford to go to the emergency room.
