Hi my dog was diagnosed with kennel cough. Or that's what they think. Despite her no contact with other dogs. She was prescribed clavaseptin 50mg every 12 hr. It was almost 90$ here's the thing I have 2 more dogs who since I have found out are separated. I have amoxicillian at home from my own. Pharmacy. Would it be safe to give to the dog?

An article by Colorado State University also notes that Codeine (an active ingredient in Iophen) is in fact used in dogs. Furthermore, NIH.gov depicts Guaifenesin's use in dogs as well; Guaifenesin being the other active ingredient in Iophen. The pill bottle/box that your medication came in is supposed to be labeled with the ingredients in case of an overdose, if this is not the case your rescue has made an error.
