Is Oxycodone Without Acetaminophen Stronger

I have been taking oxycodone every six hours for almost two years for pinched nerves in my neck, arthritis, my lower back, tendinitis, rotator cuff in both arms and meralgia paresthetica in both thighs, but i find it's not really helping like i thought it would. The doctor says i probably need something stronger and maybe even see a pain management doctor but he cant prescribe anything stronger. ## There are higher doses of Oxycodone available without the Acetaminophen, but yes, you would most likely need to see a pain management specialist to see if they can prescribe it for you. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications?

I've taken gabapentin, norco, and then oxycodone. I was taken off the oxycodone recently because I was talking the max six pills a day and my pain was still unbearable. I have five bulging disc and a pinched nerve in my back. I have spinal stenosis. This has caused pain throughout my left side down to my feet. I'm also a diabetic with nerve damage. I'm scared to do multiple rounds of injections in my back. Is there anything I can take to help me at least get some rest. I had to quit my job because I can't sit or stand and the pain is too much ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? There are many other medications to choose from, including Oxycodone in higher doses, without the Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause si...

I heard oxy hcl was stronger than oxycodone acetaminophen but oxy does NOT work for me however oxy with acetaminophen works like a wonder drug on my second degree burn ## Hello, Julie! How are you? The Acetaminophen augments the effect of the Oxycodone in some people that take it, which likely explains why the Percocet works better for you than the Oxycodone by itself. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've had severe chronic pain for years. Pain dr. Gave me 7.5/325 hydrocodone. I have hep c and chronic anemia. I don't want either tylenol or Ib.. what can I ask for that has none of those and is stronger? Would a fentanyl patch work? ## Hello, Andrea! How are you feeling? Fentanyl is the strongest narcotic available, so it may not be wise to jump straight to it, because that's not going to leave you anywhere to go in the future, once you build up a tolerance. Learn more Fentanyl details here. There are several others that are stronger and don't contain NSAIDs. One would be Oxycodone, which is available in instant release, regular release and time released formulations. Learn more Oxycodone details here. There's also Morphine, Dilaudid and Opana. ive bee taking 15 mg of oxycodone every 4hrs for chronic pain do to a brain injury that occured about 4 months ago. ive never had ANY cetimeiphen in it ever. please explain why some people do have this and some don't. thanks. p.s oxycodone is definatley stronger than hydrocone. i am about to go to to 15mg of the hydrocodone it works better for me. definitly and last longer. why? ## Hello, Travis! How are you? Some of them contain Acetaminophen, because it augments the narcotic opiate and helps it work better, so it has a stronger effect and works better to relieve pain. However, the narcotic is still effective without it and it isn't necessary to prescribe one that contains Acetaminophen for everyone. It can be very rough on the liver, especially if someone is taking high amount...

I take Lortab 10's, Fentanyl 100mg patch every 3 days and Ibuprofen. I stay in constant pain and wanted to know what I could switch to that would be stronger and help with my constant pain. I've been on all 3 medicines and alot of other medicine (not pain medicine) for over 3yrs. ## Yes, it only takes 6.67mgs of Oxycodone to equal each 10mgs of Hydrocodone, so the Percocet would be stronger. Learn more Percocet details here. Oxycodone is also available by itself, without the Acetaminophen, in a regular release formulation, so you also may want to ask your doctor about that. It is another narcotic opiate, so it also has the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can he...

I've been on oxycodone 10mg for several years. My pain management doc has been reducing my prescription by 5 pills each month to get me down to just 120 per month. Next month I will be at the 120 mark. I've been complaining as that 1 less per day makes a difference in managing my pain daily. A few months ago my pharmacy switched their supplier and the new pills won't cut. They literally shatter on one side leaving me about 3/4 of a pill & crumbs. So now my doctor is suggesting I go on Percocet 10/325mg. I know the 325 is acetaminophen. But what is the difference between Oxy & Percocet? I'm not a fan of taking that much acetaminophen daily without an end in sight. Is the Percocet 10/325mg is stronger than Oxy 10mg? The same? Unless it's stronger, I don't k...

What strengths is stronger than Hydrocodone 7.50 -325, I have been on vicodin for over 15yrs from a car wreck where I almost died and my back and nerves is messed up for life. My dr. and I have been talking about going to Oxycodone? ## There is a 10/325mg Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen that is available, as well as the Oxycodone formulations, that are stronger. What dose has your doctor advised? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, drowsiness, and constipation. There is also a formulation of Hydrocodone that is available by itself, time released without the Acetaminophen, Oxycodone by itself, Morphine, Hydromorphone, Oxymorphone, and Fentanyl. ## The Oxycodone 325 (5 mg) is stron...

If you take Lortab 10 mg can you take Percocet 10 -650 are they the same? Cause I went to my doctor today and they changed my meds from Lortab to the Percocet and I'm scared to take them? ## The only way to find out if you can take something without having any problems from it is by trying it. The Percocet is actually a stronger medication, since it contains Oxycodone with the Acetaminophen. Learn more Percocet details here. It is also a narcotic that has the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, constipation and dry mouth. Why did they change your medication? Did they give you a reason?

Don't want to overdo it. But pain is horrific. How many Vicodin 's(10-300) are potentially lethal? ## Hi John, While there's no exact number of pills for a potentially lethal dose, I can tell you that for your own safety, the FDA recommends NO MORE THAN 4000mgs a day of Acetaminophen, and that is to be spread out over a 24hr period - NOT to be taken all at once. They also state in their warning that anything over 325mgs in a sitting has been shown to cause liver damage/failure; which from my understanding can eventually lead to death if liver damage is severe. So why don't you just ask the doctor for something stronger if Vicodin isn't cutting it? A lot of chronic pain patients are prescribed much more potent medications WITHOUT Acetaminophen, such as Oxycodone, Opan...

I have pain shooting from my left lower back. It runs down the left side to the foot. Also tingling. I am on 10mg oxycodone + 325mg acetaminophen. I've been on them for I think 3 yrs. So they are not working. My question is how do I go about telling my doctor that I need something stronger without sounding like an addict? Thanks for all answers. Greatly appreciated! ## Hello, Mack! How are you? Has there been any change? At this point, I don't think the concern is needing more medications, but to make sure that you are not experiencing a heart problem, which many such issues on the left side of your body could possibly indicate. Thus, it is best to just tell your doctor what is happening, including the pain you're experiencing, and go from there. However, do not ask them for...

Is oxycontin and Percocet the same thing except without the tylenol ## Yeah. It's usually extended release instead of the percocet, which is immediate release. Not all the time but that's what I've seen. ## Hello, Katy! How are you? No, Raine, you are correct, both contain Oxycodone, but Percocet also contains Acetaminophen/Tylenol and Oxycontin just contains Oxycodone in a 12 hour time released formulation. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything I can help with? ## Is a 18 mg xtampza ER stronger or the same as Percocet 10mg? ## Suzie, Both medications contain oxycodone xtampza er is an extended rele...

i had a broken leg in 2007 was prescribed vicodin 750, in 2010 i had major brain surgery and was prescribed more 750 mg vicodin, but my tolerance is so high that my doctor prescribed me oxycotin 30 mg, can you please tell me what one pill of 750 vicodin equals one pill of 30 mg oxycotin./....please help ## if u are taking the 10/750 vicodins, the 30 mg oxy is like taking 3 vicodins. oxy is an opiate as well. minus the acetametaphine (tylenol) that's in vicodin.. ## Yes, the Oxycodone is stronger, but I can't really give you a comparison, without knowing the precise dosage of the Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen combination you were taking. The 750 you posted just refers to the Acetaminophen, but there are several different strengths of the Hydrocodone available. Have you tried the Oxyc...

My husband took 30 mg of oxycodone. Is that the same as a oxycodone 5-325mg or will it come out different in a urine test? Will that be a problem for his pain management? ## Hi I'm wondering if it was the same or not. What was the outcome? ## Oxycodone 30s and oxycodone 5 325 test the same. Either test as opiate or oxycodone on a more detailed test. Just stronger milagram without the cut in it. ## No and yes. Yes percocet and oxycodone are the same thing. Exact same thing!!!! Not sure name brand "Percocet" exists anymore but oxycodone is today's percocet. No on the milligram comparison. A 30mg is 30mg. When you see 5/325, the 1st number is the mg of oxycodone. 2nd number is 325mg of Acetaminophen (tylenol). These are facts!!! Been on the stuff for over 20yrs. I have a ba...
