Is Oxycodone The Same As Vicodin

I went to the Emergency Room last Saturday on 12/122015. I could not take the pain. I got 2 Vicodin at the Emergency Room. The doctor sent me home with 2 prescriptions. The Prescriptions were for Oxycodone. I had a reaction to it. I think they were Percocet. I became very itchy. I called the ER and told a nurse what happened. She told me to come back. I was too tired and never went back. Now it is Christmas and I wish that I did go back. Is Oxycodone the same as Percocet? I think that I had a bad reaction to Percocet about 10+ years ago. I also ordered the yellow 10 mg hydrocodones from Pakistan. and the first thing I noticed is they made me tired. I laid down after work, before fixing dinner and didn't wake up for two hours. The same thing happened the next time (but only slept an hour). SO I cannot take these things during the day. I took a vicodin 5 at around 11 sm at around 1 pm I went to take another vicodin but picked up the wrong bottle (my husband had surgery and his dr gave him percocet). Since they looked the same, I didn't think about it until I put the bottle away and noticed my husband's name on it. The percocet is 7.5. I only got three hours of sleep last night, so I don't know the reason why I am so lathargic. I also have hypokalemia due to medication, so my system is very sensative. Would 3 tablets of m325 be the same as taking one and a half Vicodin 10? ## Hello, Kyle! How are you? Do you mean the white tablet with the marking M523 on one side and 10/325 on the other? If so, it is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. In this case, you have the conversion backwards, because Oxycodone is stronger than Hydrocodone. Taking 30mgs of it would be equal to taking 45mgs of Hydrocodone. Thus, it just takes one of these tablets to equal one a half Vicodin 10/325. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am looking for a Dr in Tampa. I already have a current MRI. My problem is that I need a Dr that will prescribe me Roxy 30's even though I do not have a prescription history of them in the past year. Vicidon ESis fourteen dollars a month for 150 pills. My Doc took me off vicidon because of the aspirin in it. I can't afford the oxycodone or others we've tried. I'm trying to manage pain for degenerative stenosis and see that hydrocodone is usually in 5 or 10 mg pills, while oxy, which is supposedly 2+ times stronger, is in 20 , 30 or 40 mg pills. In many cases, a long acting medication, such as the time released formulations of Morphine or Oxycodone, is used along with something that works fast, like an immediate release or a regular release opiate, to give better pain control, until the one that will work for the longer period of time can start to work. However, it doesn't usually involve 3 different medications, but this can be necessary in some cases of severe, chronic pain that has not responded to other types of treatment or medications. Can you take a Westward 325 and Percocet 10 at the same time? ## Hi Gabby, I was unable to identify the "westward 325" pill you mentioned. Is it a generic Vicodin with 325mgs of Acetaminophen? If so, I wouldn't recommend taking Percocet (Oxycodone) with Hydrocodone, just because of the additive effect and not knowing how "your" body is going to react to it. Some people may take them together no problem, depending on the dosages; so I would assess your tolerance levels before taking a full dose together, if that is in fact Hydrocodone you're referring to...
