I have been on Xarelto for about a month and my weight went up 25 to 30 lbs. Before I was on Xarelto I was taking Warfin and I was gaining any extra weight. I haven't been prescripted nor taken any other medications then the medications that has prescripted to me. He is now weaning me off the Wellbutrin and starting me slowly on epitec. First 25mg, then 50mg, then 100mg, then 150mg. Has anyone experienced weight gain and are any of you just feeling stuck or unmotivated? I take 20 mg a day and feel bored. I've talked about this problem before concerning the side effects from Spiriva. The only side effect I've experienced was a sudden, and seemingly permanent weight gain. In spite of efforts to lose the weight I've had no success whatsoever. I've gained weight from other medications in the past only to lose it when the medication was discontinued. Not so with Spiriva. It has been almost three years since I've used the inhaler but yet the added weight persists. I should mention that all of the added weight has been on the midsection and nowhere else! To make matters worse has been a disended abdomen to go along with it. I contacted the drug company right after it happened and, naturally, they acted as if it was new to them! I have been prescribed Meclizine for dizziness, and it is working fine on that part. I was wondering if there was any weight gain side effects from this medication. My psychiatrist put me on Epitec which I started last week Monday, I am on a very low dosage 25 mg X 2 weeks, 50 mg X 2 weeks, 100 mg X 2 weeks and 200 mg X 4 weeks. There's really no other type of pill that can make you gain weight without experiencing the harsh side effects of steroids. So focusing primarily on your diet and caloric needs is probably going to be your best bet for gaining/maintaining the weight you desire. Health stores like GNC or Vitamin Shoppe also offer other alternatives like high calorie weight gainer shakes. Doing this along with lifting weights or strength training, should be ideal for putting on a significant amount of weight through muscle mass and not so much through fat. I hope this helps!
