Percocet contains a combination of Oxycodone and Acetaminophen and it is only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Oxycodone, there is no 30mg dosage of it available. This is to answer the question is there a higher dose form of norco the answer is yes it's called Zohydro it was made here in San Diego and has been approved by the Fda and Sea but it might be hard to find and the insurance company might not cover it, it's and extended version kinda like oxycontin for oxycodone and it comes in different doses. My primary dr has me on 10 mg percocet, 2 every 4 hrs for chronic/severe leg pain but it has lost it's effectiveness. I have appt w/pain mgt clinic on the 18th for the 1st time and am hoping they rx something stronger & definitely something that lasts longer. I haven't slept a full night in almost 2 years due to waking up in pain, taking meds, waiting for them to kick in and waiting to fall asleep again. I would like to know if there is any pain medication that compares or is an alternative to oxycontin (80mg), besides opana? ## There is a time released Morphine on the market, as both a generic and under the name brand MS Contin. It is not as strong as Oxycodone, so you would require a higher dosage. If you were taking 80mgs of Oxycontin, then you'd need 120mgs of MS Contin. My wife is retiring so I'm going to have to change my health insurance and I know oxycontin will not be covered. I have polio and am on permanent disability, I'm taking 3 20mgs of oxy a day and trying to figure out what to ask for. I have a great doctor and he will pretty much ask me what I want. I don't want any but I've tried that and ended up in too much pain to even function. At one time I was taking 4 80's a day for years but took myself off. Not a fun experience but I also did it because I knew this day was coming for my wife to retire. Anyway, I really need something stronger but am reluctant to go there. I'm brand new to this..my fiance is in the verge of being diagnosed with colon cancer we have just seen oncologist recently he has prescribed him 10mg of oxycontin sr 2times per day and percocet 5/325.2 every 4 hrs as needed his pain is tremendous and has debilitated him he was prescibed 90 for now and that was 3 days ago he is now down to 45 left he will run out quickly in the next few we are new to this and I think he is takin well over the recommended dose but his pain is so bad and its the only thing that gives him any sort of relief and not even that much. I just picked up my monthly Rx for OxyContin 80mg and they were the new generic Watson OC/OP here in the USA. They look identical to Purdue pharma pills as far as color and markings..I haven't tried them yet but I sure hope they work like the old version OC. I will let you all know if I can tell a difference. Lets hope they are somewhat as strong as the old OC formula.
