I have some 12 year old Hydrocodon Acetamine. Is it still effective. I am sure my doctor will represcribe it for another regimen, but if I can save money I would like to use the old stuff. ## No, that's far too old, it would have lost effectiveness after 3 years, if it were still in the originally factory sealed container. Once in the pharmacy bottle, which exposes it to heat, light and moisture, it starts to lose effectiveness after one year. So, please see your doctor for a new prescription. Are there any other questions or comments? ...

what is the difference between the 325mg and the 7.5 325mg? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? There should be 2 numbers listed for anything that contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, for instance, in the second one you've listed, that designates 7.5mgs of the narcotic Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, you've not listed the complete information for the first one, since that only lists 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Can you please double check your information and post back? Is it safe to take with my: type 1 diabeyes; kidney transplant; 2 heart stents; and permanent valley fever? ## Was it prescribed by a doctor that is aware of these medical conditions and any other medications that you are taking? I have some codeine from a arm injury would it be ok to switch to it and stop the hydroco.? ## Hello, Missy2ell! How are you? You should check with your dentist, before switching. The Codeine is a very mild narcotic, so it may not be enough to help your pain. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, there are other alternatives that they can prescribe. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

I was taking hydrocodon-acetaminophen 10-325's manufacturer mallinkrt which worked effectively. My doctor, against my wishes, switched me to hydrocodon-acetaminophen 5-325's. How do I approach my doctor, without offending him, since he is doing my knee replacement, to switch me back to the original script of 10-325's? ## The best thing you can do is to be honest with him and tell him of the problems you had. Hi everyone... To the point - I have arthritis due to many years of rough living (motorcycle accident -2- and bull riding and as such have had multiple broken bones... Long story short; I've been on Norcos for roughly 6 years and am worried about the constant daily intake of acetaminophen and what it may potentially be doing to my liver... My current dose is 1-Norco when I wake / 1 or 2 at lunch / then another 1 or 2 again at bedtime... I've been prescribed Oxycontin but could not get along with it at all - it made me incredibly tired and itchy... So, would a drug such as opana be a viable option for someone like me? My Md assures me I'm okay at my current level of acetaminophen but I worry... Does anyone have any experience with a switch such as the one I propose? ## Yes, a... ...
