Hydrochlorothiazide Side Effects

I'm taking Hydrochlorothiazide for water retention due to a side effect from high estrogen levels in my birth control. I take 25 mg every morning, and haven't been able to sleep at all in the past three nights. I've looked it up online and haven't found anywhere saying that it causes loss of sleep. Is that a side effect of hydrochlorothiazide or is there just something else wrong with me? Because I haven't changed any other medications, or habits since then. After after taking hydrochlorothiazide 25mg I HAVE RINGING In ears. Dry mouth, hearing loss. Not sure if this is related. Prescribed hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg for hypertension. Took for 1st 3 months with no problems outside of frequent urination which is to be expected. It has been working to lower my good pressure, so I was given another 3 month prescription. A week after I begin this batch, I started to suffer from all sorts of illnesses. First it was a stuffy nose, slightly sore throat (lasted approx. 3 days), & red itchy eyes. how do you take the med???and how late to take not to make you get up during the night???? ## When I was on them, my doctor always had me take it in the morning, to try to minimize the chance that I would have to get up at night and go the bathroom. However, Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic, it helps remove fluid from the body and, as such, there is really no way to completely eliminate the possibility. I've been taking this for many years and have had tiredness, muscle tiredness, shortness of breath and my feet feel like lead. I'm taking 6.25mg nightly. Anyone else have symptoms with this med? ## Those can be normal side effects, along with nausea, dizziness, and dehydration, according to FDA reports. My mother is 85 and takes co-pritor. she had a constant irritation in her throat and starts coughing so much that she cannot hold a conversation. I am a 60 year old male with high BP. I was taking Losar 50 mg ×2 and metoprolol XL 25mg × 2 but as my BP shot up to 160/90 with heaviness in my head and neck, the doctor changed the medicines and introduced Temsan-H in the morning and metoprolol XL 25mg in the evening since the last 3 days. I have antiphospolipid syndrome (APS) I was given HCTZ for blood pressure and after two weeks my body went haywire. This resulted in severe respiratory distress, intubated for 3 days had heart attack was kept alive w/ machinery & drugs. Later realized this triggered catastrophic antiphospolipid syndrome. I have been on this med for BP for over a year and I am experiencing a slow but steady increase of leg pain in my right thigh. It started out as a sort of weakness and now has changed to pain, mostly in the night while trying to sleep. It wakes me with a lot of pain, and at these times, I will call the pain intense.
