I have never used any contraception pills in my life. And I want to use oralcon. When do I start using it? ## You can start it, at any time. If you start it the first or second day of your period, it will be effective immediately at preventing pregnancy, however, if you start it any time after that, you will need to take it for a full week in order for it to reach it's full level of efficacy. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting, and PMS-like symptoms. What instructions has your doctor provided? ## I started taking oralcon about 12 days ago. I Initially started using it because of the terrible pains i get when i have my menstrual cycle. I was on my third day of having my period when i took it. Three days ago my boyfr...

Hi. I'm an Oralcon user and just wanna understand, I've taken five red pills but nothing is happening. I just want to know if I might be pregnant or what? I had period pains when I took the first one. ## Hi Laura, When it comes to any form of hormonal contraceptive, it's important to understand that they can all cause irregular or missed periods as a common side effect. This is just the nature of what happens when your hormones fluctuate. It seems that this side effect concerns many users here on the site, as I see it posted fairly often - but in reality there's nothing to be overly concerned about when "nothing happens". Most labels for these types of medications suggest that if the tablets have been taken as directed, this will almost certainly not mean that th...

Hi, I'm 16 years old and this is my second day using Oralcon and second day of my period. I can't really sleep because I feel like I need to throw up all the time. Is Oralcon safe for my health? Is this normal or should I stop? ## Hello, Maria! How are you feeling? Sorry about the nausea. This can be a side effect of some hormonal contraceptives, but it shouldn't be severe enough to keep you awake. Have you contacted your doctor? This might not be the right one for you to take and you may need to try a different one.

I had an emergency pill about 3 weeks before i started using the Oralcon pills, and took my 1st pill on the 2nd day of my menstruation, although my periods were not normal because of the emergency pill, but i still had my periods at that time, with less bleeding than usual. I'm on my 3rd pack of the Oralcon pills now, and i never had any periods since my 2nd pack, even when I'm on the red pills. I'm worried now, i want my periods back. Is there any possibility that I'm pregnant? I never skipped any pills and i always took them at the same time everyday. Or its it because i started using the Oralcon pills with abnormal periods? Please help.. ## Hello, Judith! How are you? Some women just don't have periods while taking hormonal contraceptives like this, there's no...

Im using oralcon contraceptive pills. im gaining weight... what can help me not to gain? ## Hi, Boikhutso! Sorry about the problem that you're having. However, there really isn't going to be much you can do about the weight change, as long as you're taking the Oralcon. It contains a synthetic estrogen and those very commonly cause women to gain weight. If you feel that you're gaining to much on this one, you may wish to talk to your doctor about trying a different one. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Even if you join gym. You cant get back to your weight before taking the pills. ## hi I slept with my boyfriend without a condom and was on my period so after 2 days of sleeping with him I started using oralcon. ..will they be affective or I am just waisting my ti...

This is my first time using the Oralcon. 1. I'm currently breastfeeding my 5 month old baby and I realized when I started the pill my milk production is less. Could the pill be the cause. Also 2. I've taken all 21 of the white pills and I'm on my third red pill and my period is here. Do I stop taking the red pills and start taking another set of white ones or do I continue taking the red pills until its finished before I start another pack? ## Hello, Kimmy! How are you? Yes, you should continue taking them and then start a new pack once you finish this one, according to the NIH. As to milk production, the NIH does not that anything that may affect your hormones could also change your milk production. Is your baby still being adequately fed? Are you on any other medications? ...

I have started using oralcon contraceptive pill, I wanna know how they work ## HI, Tshepo! How are you? Oralcon is a hormonal based contraceptive, so they work by adding certain amounts of synthetic estrogen and progesterone to your body to prevent ovulation from occurring each month. That's why you have to take one each day, for 3 weeks until your menstruation week, if you don't, then the drop in hormones may allow ovulation to happen which makes it possible for you to get pregnant. Hi. I've started taking oralcon on Saturday but in different times. So tonight I had intercourse with my boyfriend and the condom burst. Does that mean I'm pregnant now? Please reply ASAP Thank you ## Hi, Sassy! How are you? Did you start them the first day of your period? If you start them the first day of your period, then you are immediately protected against pregnancy, since they will prevent ovulation. However, if you weren't on your period, when you started taking them, then yes, there is a risk of your getting pregnant, because it takes 7 days for them to become effective in your body. The only thing you can really do now is wait a week or two and then check for pregnancy. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Help I stopped taking the pill. had intercourse with ...

Am using oralcon for the first time. I just wanted to know when will I have my periods because I am now taking the red pill, am on the 3rd pill, but still nothing. Am now worried, can I be pregnant? ## Usually when you first start taking birth control, it's contraceptive effects generally don't take full effect until the first couple weeks or month after you begin treatment. Although I think this long time frame/waiting period may vary according to the brand. I'm not sure if your doctor or gynecologist also mentioned this, but irregular periods and missed periods are common side effects associated with these types of medications. This is largely due to the fluctuation in hormone levels, which ultimately have a direct impact on your menstrual cycles. Have you taken a pregnanc...

Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, and PMS-like symptoms. However, if you want to get pregnant, why are you taking this medication?

You won't get pregnant while taking these. Your doctor may have given them to you in hopes that suppressing ovulation for a few months may increase the chances of your getting pregnant, once you're done taking them and you ovulate, again. I've been on it for about 1 and 1/2 half years and my face looks like a fruitcake, keep in mind I am now 28 years old and have never suffered from acne. Thank You ## Hello, Farah! How are you? Yes, it may cause acne in some women that take it. You may just need to try a different to prevent that from occurring. There are other options available with different levels of hormones in them that may not cause you the same issue. Is there anything else I can help with?
