How are you doing? Has there been any change? According to the NIH conversion information for opiates, Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, thus, being switched from 30mgs Oxycodone to 30mgs of Morphine was actually lowering your dose, so it is unsurprising that you are still in pain. The FDA warns that narcotic medications carry th...

will crushing the pill give me better relief? ## ER pills are not to be crushed ## Crushing them is a very dangerous practice, you could get too much of the narcotic at once and overdose yourself. These are time released for a reason. If you are having trouble with adequate pain relief, then please speak to your doctor. I was on these for several years for pain management and they are a very strong medication. I do have to say, however, there are some types of pain that they should not be used for, what condition are you taking them for? ## If you are taking an antibiotic for Azitmonuycin can you crush them & drink with juice ?

How much stronger is a morphine 60 than a Norco 10 and how many norcos would it take to equal 1 ## Hello, Smeagle! How are you? Morphine and Hydrocodone actually convert on a 1 to 1 ratio, so to equal 60mgs of Morphine, you'd need 60mgs of Hydrocodone. However, you can't take that many, due to the Acetaminophen in them. The limit for that is 3,000mgs daily, as set by the FDA. Exceeding that could result in fatal overdose toxicity. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you been switched from one to the other, or are you trying to switch yourself? ## Omg really for one thing they only make7.5 norcos not 750 that would be the acetaminophen and meth...

my mother got her medcine and old medcine mixed up ## If your pill has the imprint E655 on front and 60 on back you have Morphine Extended Release 60mg. This is a very, very powerfull narcotic pain med. If you do not have a tolerance to this amount of morphine, you can easily OD and well to be blunt DIE. ## does this pill have an M inside of a box on one side of it and a #30 on the other side of the pill? I found a pill that looks like this and someone told me it was a 30mg morphine tablet. ## The message above was an error. It has a 60 on the other side of it, not a 30. Sorry ## I guess I was wrong on my other post as well. M 60 Morphine Extended Release Morphine ER 60mg Made by Malinckrodt Pharmaceutical ## if it is whit and small it is a perc 30 very strong and if its ur first time t...

My insurance will not pay for any more Fentanyl patches and now I have switched to 60mg Morphine slow release. Will that be as good as the patches? I have terminal Colon Cancer. Thank you. ## Hi that will be just has good but you must aske for tablets for break away pain as i am on 60mg of morphine twice daily but you must aske your doctor for oxycodone as that will work straight away morphine slow release doesnt i hope this helps i live in england i am lucky we dont pay for our perscriptions all the best carolx ## Fentanyl is actually over 80 times stronger than Morphine and while they are both effective narcotics, you may need to work with your doctor to get the dosing just right for you to handle your pain. The side effects will also be very similar, so you may experience: nausea, di...

Is Roxie 10 stronger than morphine 60just wondering what's best to take I find morphine last longer than Roxie ## Oxycodone is one a half times stronger than Morphine, so, going by the doses you've mentioned, the 60mg Morphine is stronger. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation, it also carries the risk of being habit forming. Is there anything else I can help with?

Have you informed your doctor that you are not getting pain relief? The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Did they give any reason for the change? Are you on any other medications? Have you ever run out early?

if fentanyl is 80x stronger than morphine, how much morphine will I have to take if I'm on 25mg fentanyl. sounds scary ## Hello, Kim! How are you? You're on 25mcgs of Fentanyl? You'd need only about 7.5mgs of Morphine. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yes, Fentanyl is 80% stronger. ## None. If you are taking Fentanyl you should have no need to take morphine. ## I have been researching most of the day and absolutely cannot find an answer to my question. I have metastatic breast cancer. My oncologist had me on 60mg mscontin, which I take every 12 hours. I was also on 20mg oxycodone every 4 hours for b...

I take 145mg of methadone daily .my question is this.i just took 60mg of morphine will i feel it i do no other drugs. this is the first time ive used anything but methadone in 2 years ## Unfortunately, in any medical situation, a patient has to be their own best advocate. Doctors often prescribe medications according to their experience with how well something has worked for other patients. There really isn't a direct answer to your question, as no one can tell you how you would react to Morphine. Since medications can affect everyone differently, some people get great results from taking it, but there are others that it doesn't work for. I do know based on research that Methadone is considered to be 3-4 times stronger than oral Morphine (oxymorphone). And given the high dose of...

round,peach/orange...60mg, morphine sulfate...the other side has an m encircled with a square box ## these make me vomit about 2 hours after I ingest them sooner if I have food in my stomach> Is there anything I can take to stop this like prilosec ## Prilosec will usually not help prevent the nausea caused by narcotic pain medications. You need something that can actually help with nausea, such as something containing Diphenhydramine. I don't suggest using anything, though, without consulting with your doctor or pharmacist first, as certain medications may react badly with Morphine and/or enhance the side effects. Morphine is a very strong narcotic pain reliever. Along with the nausea, some of the other common side effects include: drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation and dizzine...

I have been using ER 60 mg morphine sulfate x 2 daily with other meds. No one has this medicine in Tampa area and being legally blind I have no way to go to 50 pharmacies to locate because they won't tell you on the phone. Is there something equal that I can get my Dr to RX? I am running out of other medicines, need help. ## Have you ever tried Oxycontin? It's a time released formulation of Oxycodone, which is a very potent narcotic and it's also stronger than the Morphine, so you'd even require a lower dose, you'd only need 40mgs of it to equal each 60mg dosage of Morphine. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Since it is also a narcotic, it may be habit forming and can cause similar side effects to those of the Morphine, which may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth...

I have been taking 60mg morphine sulfate er for 10 plus years with 30mg oxycodone for breakthrough pain relief. A friend of mine who also has severe pain is on fentynal patches and I was wondering which one is better? What I am taking now is beginning to not work as well as it use to. Help! ## Fentanyl is the most potent opiate available, it is over 81 times stronger than Morphine. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, and constipation. However, it depends on which medication works best for you and what your doctor feels is safe for you to try. Are these the only medications you are currently taking? ## Fentanyl 100mcg along with 30mg roxicodone 4 x per day works well. Everybo...

Hi. I have been on 60 mg of morphine sulfate for 3 years. Me and my doctor talked about either upping my dose of morphine or changing it, so we went with a higher dose of morphine. When I filled my Rx I noticed it was for 15 mg of morphine. Is 15mg of morphine stronger than 60mg of morphine? Both are extended release. ## Hi, I was on morphine for 4 years and 60 mg. Is definitely stronger than 15. He lowered your dose or you should have gotten both the 60mg and the 15 mg. To go along with the 60mg. Thats what my dr. gave me when I needed more. ## VALERIE: It doesn't sound like your doctor is very competent. How can 15mgs be STRONGER than 60 mgs? This makes no sense. Maybe he meant for you to take an ADDITIONAL 15 mgs with the 60? I would call them IMMEDIATELY!! ## Im sorry my mistake...

i have been taking 60mg.morphine sulfate with little relief i just started on methadone hcl 10mg. & found them to be stronger & more effective my wife just believes that it is the change but i am convinced the methadone is stronger who is right? ## It would take 15mgs of Methadone to equal each 60mgs dose of the Morphine, so I'd have to give the win to your wife. However, there is a caveat, it may not be just because of the change to a different medication, it could be due to the fact that the Methadone may just work better for you. Learn more Methadone details here. Sometimes the equivalency or one being stronger doesn't matter, if one just works better with your body. Everyone is different and this happens quite frequently. I have been taking morphine 60mg er for 5 yrs. Will buprenorphine be able to handle my neuropothy because 180mg of morphine & 12mg Dilaudid doesn't touch the pain I'm in? I'm just scared buprenorphine wont be able to touch my pain I'm ready to cut my feet off its like walking on burning coal 24/7/365. Any info would be very helpful. Is 60 Mgs ER MORPHINE twice daily with three 15 mg breakthrough stronger than 45mg of METHADONE ## Hi Debbie, There really isn't a simple yes or no answer for this type of question, so please correct me if I'm wrong in interpreting this information from an opioid conversion chart linked below (under 'Appendix 1'). According to this chart, 120mgs of Morphine ER is said to be equivalent to 48mg of Methadone? If this holds true, that would mean 60mgs of Morphine ER is equal to 24mg of Methadone. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1163279 One other important thing to take into account aside from this, is that there are various types of clinical considerations that may affect the translation or conversion of drug equivalencies to & from Methadone (such as a weaker generic, ...

I dont like taking any drugs but iv had three back surgerys ,Is dilaudid 4mg or ms cotin60mg. ## The 60mg MS Contin, Morphine, would actually be a stronger dose, to equal it, you would need 15mgs of the Dilaudid, Hydromorphone. Both are narcotics and can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. I was on 60mg of oxycontin 3x a day, and cuz of my insurance company had to switch to 15mg of extended release morphine.. I am very concerned about the pain or withdrawal symptoms. Anyone know if it's the same?? ## Oxycodone is actually one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so to be equivalent in pain relief, you'd need 90mgs of Morphine to match each 60mgs you were taking of Oxycontin. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If you are taking 15mg doses, then yes, you may experience pain and some withdrawal symptoms, which may include nausea, diarrhea, fever and chills. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Wo...

I have piroformis disease/ sciatica. I've been having problems with my lower back for about a year. Herniated disc L4/L5. Before the sciatica, I went to the ortho and he gave me tramadol which did nothing... So my primary doctor gave me hydro 7.5 #20 as needed since I was in a second car accident (back pains started from first accident)... The night of the doctor visit is when the sciatic nerve started to cause pain. I went to the ER because I have sharp pains in both buttocks, and all down my left leg. Both feet are numb and I can not move my toes. I went to the ER. They gave me a shot of morphine, which knocked down my pain level from a 10 to a 3. They prescribed me Tylenol w/ codiene 300-60mg. I haven't got it filled because it's a Sunday. When I go back to the doctor tom...
