I have been takin 60mg ms contin 3 times a day n 30mg oxycodone immediate release 4 times a day for 8 yrs i have bullet fragments in my spine an nerve damage in my legs my doc recently changed the oxycodone to morphine 30mg immediate release but my pain is still ridiculous what will help me i also take baclofen 10mg amytriptilyn 50mg an recently lyrica 75mg but like i said my pain is still out of control what will help me? ## Hello, Shy! will crushing the pill give me better relief? ## ER pills are not to be crushed ## Crushing them is a very dangerous practice, you could get too much of the narcotic at once and overdose yourself. These are time released for a reason. If you are having trouble with adequate pain relief, then please speak to your doctor. I was on these for several years for pain management and they are a very strong medication. Morphine and Hydrocodone actually convert on a 1 to 1 ratio, so to equal 60mgs of Morphine, you'd need 60mgs of Hydrocodone. However, you can't take that many, due to the Acetaminophen in them. The limit for that is 3,000mgs daily, as set by the FDA. Exceeding that could result in fatal overdose toxicity. my mother got her medcine and old medcine mixed up ## If your pill has the imprint E655 on front and 60 on back you have Morphine Extended Release 60mg. This is a very, very powerfull narcotic pain med. If you do not have a tolerance to this amount of morphine, you can easily OD and well to be blunt DIE. ## does this pill have an M inside of a box on one side of it and a #30 on the other side of the pill? i have been taking 60mg.morphine sulfate with little relief i just started on methadone hcl 10mg. & found them to be stronger & more effective my wife just believes that it is the change but i am convinced the methadone is stronger who is right? ## It would take 15mgs of Methadone to equal each 60mgs dose of the Morphine, so I'd have to give the win to your wife. However, there is a caveat, it may not be just because of the change to a different medication, it could be due to the fact that the Methadone may just work better for you.
