As many as you are prescribed. If this doesn't work you should discuss with your PCP and possibly change to oxycodone 5/325. Even though the amount of aspirin (325mg) is lower than others too much can have adverse effects on your liver and kidneys. My mom is 75 years old and has never really had to take opiate pain killers in the past. She doesn't even take them after a root canal. However, her hip started giving her trouble about 2 years ago, but just now is having so much pain that she has to take at least one pain pill so she can get up. I have RSD in both legs due to several back surgeries. I was diagnosed in 1993 and have lived in pain for many years. My question is, I was doing pretty good with hydrocodone, Tylenol (7.5/3.25) ev 4 hrs. Even missing a dose every now and then, my RSD was mostly under control. I was changed to pill form (10/3.25) ev 6 hrs and ever since then (3 days ago), I have been in severe pain, in my legs and now under my feet. What made the difference? You can overdose on anything, if you take too much of it. But what many people don't know is that the biggest danger in these medications that combine a narcotic with Acetaminophen is the Acetaminophen. Long term use of it, especially in high doses, can cause liver damage or failure. Additionally, the reason you are cautioned not to exceed a certain number of tablets in 24 hours is because it can be fatally toxic, if you take too much of it in any 24 hour period. I just had knee surgery may 3rd.I had Hydromorphone and ran out and because of the slow healing process that i am experencing,My Doc gave me hydrocodone 5/325's.He said to take 1-2 every for pain,but it doesn't seem to be working.Should I wait a while longer to see if it does.I DON'T want to take very high does of acedaminophin because of liver damage. ## You can take Ibprofin with this. ## You are correct to worry about taking too much of the Acetaminophen, not only does it risk liver damage, but it can be toxic if you take too much of it in a day. All I need to know is how many norco 5's equal one 25mg fentanyl patch? I usually use fentanyl patches for my severe sciatica pain but I ran out and missed my regularly scheduled appt due to my husband having surgery. I have been on antidepressants, Cymbalta, Lamictal, Ambien & Klonopin. I'm am currently off ambien now and weaning Klonopin, soon to be off. No complaints.
