How long after taking an oxycodone 5mg 325 can I take an narco 10 325 ? ## Hello, James! How are you? If they've both been prescribed for you, you should stick with the usual dosing duration, due to the Acetaminophen in them. Taking too much of it in a day can be fatally toxic. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was taking 5-6 10/325 percocet a day and my new dr gave me 90 1 3xs a day but I'm having trouble so was taking a percocet then 4 hrs later a norco and alternating like that today. Is it safe to take a percocet then a norco until the withdrawal gets better? ## Hello, Sherryl! How are you? The main concern here is the amount of Acetaminophen you are ingesting each day, more than the opiates, as hard as that may be to believe. In theory, you should still be within limits, which the FDA lists as being 3,000mgs a day, but it is always best to extra careful and not do this, unless your doctor approves. What type of withdrawal symptoms are you experiencing? The NIH lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, fever, chills, rebound pain, anxiety, depression, and diarrhea.

CAN YOU TAKE HYDROCODONE 5/325 4 HOURS AFTER OXYCODONE 7.5/325 ## Hi Tina, It looks like you posted two different questions in your thread title and description. - Can you take oxycodone 4 hours after hydrocodone? My intuitive answer to this question would be yes. However, there are a number of variables that could change my mind. 1) being if you have a low tolerance to pain meds, oxycodone might feel like an overwhelming jump compared to an even lower dose of hydrocodone. Perhaps triggering certain side effects or acutely overdosing. So before experimenting I'd encourage you to inform your doctor first just to be on the safe side. - Can you take hydrocodone 4 hours after oxycodone? Since hydrocodone is arguably the weaker of the two and because it's being taken in a lower dose,...

I have the option to use either oxycodone or hydrocodone for a broken ankle... and after surgery. Which is the stronger of the two? I would like to take one in the evening and then the weaker of the two during the day so I can work. Thanks! ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? Oxycodone is the stronger of the two. The FDA classifies these medication as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, since both can cause dizziness and drowsiness, please make sure you won't be driving or operating heavy machinery. What is the difference between hydrocodone, and oxycodone? For example is five milligrams of each equal to each other? We had a debate at work talking with someone w/o just had surgery, and no one seemed to know. Thanks! ## Hello, Firefly! How are you? Oxycodone is actually a bit stronger than Hydrocodone, you'd only need 3.33mgs of it to be equal to each 5mgs of Hydrocodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What can I get to help with the inching from Percocets or any other pain meds

I was wondering what the difference is between hydro and oxo codone? Is it the way the pill is made or extracted from the plant, Hydro is by water and Oxy is by oxygen??? I seem to think the oxycodone is stronger and almost all doctors and health care say it is more addicting than hydrocodone, why is this??? I have taken both for cruched disc in my neck and back, is there anything closely related without so much tylenol, I am severely allergic to Ibuprophen (all anit-Inflamitories) and hate the side affects of the tylenol in with either of these..Any help...???? Thanks ## M369 ## I also have an issue with hydrocondone I I sweat alot when because of all the tylenol I am taking 10/650- LORCET .they are blue . I have just recently began a pain treatment clinic. I was prescribed hydrocodone 5mg with 325 mg acetaminophen. This is not working for me. What do I need to say to convince my Dr to change to oxycodone? ## How you tell the Dr. you want to change? That you want to change back to your old meds, pain pill. ## Just be honest with your doctor, tell them that the new medication isn't working for you, but you should do so, without asking for a specific replacement medication, let them suggest a solution, and then discuss your options from there. Oxycodone has a tendency to be addictive and is highly abused, which makes many doctors reluctant to prescribe it. It's other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Does anyone else have any advice to...

I had surgery in May for disc replacement in C5 and C6 and was taking 10-325mg of Norco for pain, on October 12th I had a disc replaced in L5-S1 and my surgeon put me on 10-325mg of Percocet and Valium 10mg. I have been depressed at home and went to my primary care doctor who prescribed 7.5-500mg of Lortab, I was taking the other meds 2 every 4 hours for pain and have been dropped to 1 Lortab every 4-6 hours, this is not controlling my pain, my doctor feels I have been taking the Percocet for too long, 2 months, he also took me off my Valium 10mg and changed it to Klonopin 1mg, half to 1 pill twice a day, I have been in a lot of pain for a few days now since changing dosages and feel anxious and depressed, is this acceptable or should I go talk to my surgeon again and have my meds chang...

I have taken 8mg orange suboxone tablet over the course of 3 days. I regularly take hydrocodone for chronic pain and a torn labrum in my hip. My last dose of suboxone was at 9am this morning, can I take hydrocodone tomorrow afternoon? Will it help my pain? I'm showing slight wd symptoms so far but mostly wondering about my hip pain. ## i am wondering the same thing. I'm stopping the 8 mg subs and my sub doc gave me a script for 3 20mg oxycontin and 3 15mg of oxycodone and said i shouldn't have any withdrawal. I'm afraid, but the subs have totally zapped me. i take oxycodone 10/325 3x day, oxy 12 extended 2x day, and a few other meds. I hate so many meds. Pain is still in effect some days better , or worse. My question is how harmful are these to my body? Diluadid works better with less to take. honest which is worse? Some days I rather hurt than take it all. ## None is worse or more harmful than another, they are all opiate narcotics, as classified by the FDA, so they carry the possibility of causing the same risks, the same side effects; such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation, and all also carry the risk of being habit forming. The amount of harm, of course, depends on whether or not you abuse them, or take them as prescribed, unless you're allergic to one of them and suffer a bad reaction from that, as detai...

Any of these drugs can make you itch depending on how used to them and how much you take. If you are young, do everything you can to stay away from these drugs, and if you're using them for recreation I beg you to stop. Now that I've said all that, some people need to have them. Even young people ... but they can be as dangerous as they are helpful if you are not very careful to come off them as soon as possible. I am 49 years old. I broke my back when I was 28 years old, and I started taking them. I've had surgeries and I've come off the pills for years at a time, but from the time of my first back surgery my spine developed little holes and massive calcium deposits (scar tissue) so that the bones became brittle and the nerves more and more impinged. After the third bac...

I had jaw surgery 10 days ago and for 4-5 days I've been taking oxycodone 5/325 because my incision opened and it is so unbearabley painful. Im Supposed To Take 1 to 2 5x325 Oxycodone every 4 hours. The Pharmasist for some reason Gave Me Hydrocodone 5/325 ...How Many Hydrocone 5/325 Equal 2 5/325 of oxycodone. SAVE ME PLEASE ## Hi, Lindsey, how are you doing? If your pharmacy gave you the wrong medication, you should really go back and let them know, so they can provide you with the correct prescription. They aren't allowed to just change it on a whim, that would require your doctor's approval. And it would take 7.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to equal each 5mg of Oxycodone, so 15mgs to equal 10 of the Oxycodone. The main issue is that you'd also be increasing the amount of Ac...

Dr just changed my pain med from oxycodone 5/325 to Hydrocodone 7.5/500. He says this will cover pain longer. Is this right? ## Well, from my information, this isn't necessarily true. It is an equivalent dosage, but they are usually take at exactly the same intervals to help control pain. Side effects are also the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. ive bee taking 15 mg of oxycodone every 4hrs for chronic pain do to a brain injury that occured about 4 months ago. ive never had ANY cetimeiphen in it ever. please explain why some people do have this and some don't. thanks. p.s oxycodone is definatley stronger than hydrocone. i am about to go to to 15mg of the hydrocodone it works better for me. definitly and last longer. why? ## Hello, Travis! How are you? Some of them contain Acetaminophen, because it augments the narcotic opiate and helps it work better, so it has a stronger effect and works better to relieve pain. However, the narcotic is still effective without it and it isn't necessary to prescribe one that contains Acetaminophen for everyone. It can be very rough on the liver, especially if someone is taking high amount...

I am being changed from 50mch every 48 hrs and 40 mg of hydrocodone a day to oxycodone and the doc only gave me 15 mg three times a day ir release and i am hurting bad. I have a feeling this is not even close to what i am use to. What should i do or say to my doc. I am working with the va military docs which are very strict. ## So you were on a Fentanyl patch that you changed every 48 hours and the Hydrocodone and they've now cut you down to 15mgs of Oxycodone 3 times a day? There's really no way this is going to work, you're going from a time release patch of the most potent narcotic available, down to just 45mgs a day of Oxycodone and that's not even taking the additional Hydrocodone into account. Did they say why they made the switch? Learn more Oxycodone details here...

How does T-3 30mg codeine relate mg to mg to hydrocodone and Oxycodone? Working on a weaning program after spine surgery. Prior to surgery I was on high doses of Oxycodone for quite a long time. It would be helpful to know how they correlate to make as smooth as possible ride down to zero mg/day.
