I am on 24 weeks treatment I did 1 month and a half with harvoni and ribavirin stop the ribavirin and my liver enzymes Alt and Ast were up in my blood works then on my next blood works 14 weeks into treatment my enzymes went down again. I don't know if it was the virus resistance. ## Ribavirin has been known to affect the liver, and to cause side effects, including elevated liver enzymes on blood work, so it may have just been due to taking it. Ref: Medline Plus Ribavirin Other side effects may include nausea, insomnia, memory loss, diarrhea, and cough, according to FDA reports. Did your doctor feel there was any reason to be concerned? what can the doc give me for the pain ## my downsyndrome daughter is 46, she has hep c (blood trans. in 1984 and symptoms started 5 yrs ago and diagnosed 3 1/2 yrs,ago.She is in alot of pain in the abdomen and particularly after each bowel movement . She was on tylenol 3 and now on percacet 325mg. It is not strong enough . This pain after the b/m has been going on for over 3 yrs and all avenues have been explored/tested. Just this past 2-3 months she has started getting much worse with the pain. Dr. has given her percacet as stomach is very acidic, plus ranitadine. Any one have suggestions as to why? I am a 59 caucasian male. Have had Hep C for 30 years. Type 1a and 5-million viral load. Will begin triple therapy in two weeks (Incivek/Peg and RIBA). Waiting for agency to work out insurance, nursing care, education arrangements and all that. Should take first injection and beging orals around October 1. First get an advised or prescription from ur attending physician. We have our different history diagnosed and the causes of illness. I was diagnosed in SGPT of 110u. I think the most successful new meducation is Harvoni, which many people reporting a full 'cure' of Hep C, though a few have reported relapsing, after completing their course of treatment. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and diarrhea. There are 2 Hepatitis viruses, as listed by the NIH, A; B and C. Not all are 'curable', so to speak and no doctor can promise an actual cure. Can anyone that's been on this treatment chime in? ## Oh and I forgot about the other two, D and E, though they are very rare.

Im sure epclusa caused hearing problems started with ears ringing then lost hearing in right ear dr prescibed predestone (steroid ) lucky for me hearing came back dr said i was very lucky, liver clinic nurse said epclusa would not cause it i think it did iv never had hearing problems ,id been taking epclusa for 7 days ,its a 3 mth treatment iv done 2 mths dont know if i shud risk doing the last mth im over 60 yrs old ,very hard to get liver clinic to respond or suggest anything. I have cirrosis and hep c. My doctor has put me on a 12 week course of Harvoni. I finish my treatment in 3 days and then am off for my blood test. The results of my first blood test show significant improvement. I read a lot of other people's experiences who have been on this treatment. A lot I've read say after there 1st blood test (4 weeks on treatment ) that they have already been cured. I'm feeling quite down that my results don't show this for me. While deciding my treatment, my doctor kept changing his mind of the length of time to be on treatment (12 weeks or 24 weeks).he decided on 12 weeks in the end. I'm supposed to be starting treatment with incivek but insurance wouldn't approve it, but did approve victrelis! Once cured with full treatment are you cured for life?? ## It's actually difficult to say, Hepatitis C can be cured in 50 to 80% of the people that have it, but the others usually have a chronic infection that lingers in their livers. Has your doctor given you any idea of your possible prognosis?

I have infection in my leg and doctor prescribed the medication for me and told me that I have to take it for at least half year. I finished Zepatier treatment last July. Successful. Virus undetectable. Very happy. I'd been sick for almost 20 years. Felt great. Began to re-start my life. But, since July 2017, I've fallen sick with flu-like symptoms three times. Each bout of 'flu' lasts a month, and is bad enough to stop you from doing anything, except sleep, or futz around. I got the last bout of this extreme flu mid-March, 2018. It lasted until a few days ago. I'm free of it now, but extremely tired. It feels like I've got ME or chronic fatigue syndrome. I get very good results after 4 weeks of taking sovaldi tablets. My pcr report was negative but now after completion of my treatment immediately i have done my pcr reports but there is a huge amount of viral load about 1 Nd half lac. Plz guide me. Thanks ## I'm sorry, but there are no medications listed under any names like that in the U.S. prescription databases. Where are you located? It may be a regional product. There is also an over the counter supplement called Blue-Green Algae, but that is not going to treat hepatitis.
