Hello, I've been taking 75mg of nuvigil now for only 2 days. The only real side effect I've experienced except slight nausea is that i feel wide awake after 3am. I go to bed at 11 with no problems but the once 3ish comes around i have a wide awake feeing. Im not wanting to take it anymore cause i NEED my sleep!!! Recommendations?? ## Hello, Amy! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. It may be that the 75mgs is too high of a dose for you and you need to speak to your doctor about trying a lower one. The FDA lists the other possible side effects of this medication as including dizziness, headache and nervousness. What time of day have you been taking it? That could also play a role.

Having trouble sleeping at night and was wondering if propranolol would help as they slow your heart beat? ## No, it is not safe to try to use them to induce sleep. Propranolol can cause some drowsiness as a side effect, but it is actually most commonly used to help lower high blood pressure and improper use of it can be dangerous, due to the fact that it can lower your heart rate and blood pressure. You can learn more Propranolol details here. Thus, the first thing you need to do is get to the root of the problem. What is causing you to have trouble sleeping? Have you tried cutting out stimulants after 3pm, such as caffeine, chocolate and sugars? Do you keep a consistent bedtime and wake time? ## Propranolol can help some people sleep, particularly if their lack of sleep is due to anxi...

I am on Ranexa for just 10 days 500 mg twice daily and each night I wake up at 2 or 3 am and cannot fall back asleep till morning. I feel exhausted already and don’t know if I can use only one tablet in the morning? I tried once to skip evening dose and slept much better. Please let me know if any sleeping pill can help and if it is safe to combine the two. Also can my body get use to it? Not being able to sleep make me feel depressed. ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? It would best not to change your dose of the Ranexa, or to combine it with other medications, unless your doctor instructs you to do so. It has been known to cause insomnia as a side effect in some people that take it, but it is very rare.

Can dormican be be used for isomnia? ## Dormicum contains the active ingredient Midazolam, which is a Benzodiazepine and yes it can cause drowsiness as a side effect, so it is sometimes used to treat insomnia. Learn more Dormicum details here. Has it been prescribed to you for insomnia? ## I start take 7.5 gm if dormicum it only work for me for one night now am up cannot fall a sleep after taking a second dose to night please tell me what can I do to sleep ## Yes I take Dormicum as well. "reference post July of 2015" The problem for me, as with in general all benzodiazepine meds, is I build up a tolerance rather quickly. The Dormicum works amazing well for like the first 3 nights, maybe four, then, I have to increase the dose to 2 x 15 mg of Dormicum (Roche midazolam) and, by 10...

I've been on 150 mg Nuvigil for about 4 weeks and just starting to go to 250 mg because it didn't seem as effective during the day as when I first started using it. I'm continuing to have problems falling to sleep at night. It's like trying to get to sleep after taking a daytime cold medicine. I take the pill early in the morning (around 7AM) and don't go to bed till 9 PM. I toss and turn till around 1 or 2 AM. Any suggestions on how to sleep better? Would taking benedryl, melatonin, or some type of sleep aid help? ## It is very common to experience insomnia for the first 4 weeks, or so, after starting this medication or raising the dosage. However, after that, things should improve, once your body gets used to it. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possib...

I have been taking 10mg of Trintellix in the mornings for just under 3 weeks and it works well for me, but I can't sleep well and the lack of sleep alone is making me consider stopping this medication. Would it be better to take it at night? Is the sleep issue something that normally goes away? ## If the Trintellix is making you drowsy, it may be a good idea to try taking it at night, like you mentioned. Another issue is, were you already having difficulty sleeping before you started taking the Trintellix? If you were, it may not be the Trintellix. If you weren't, it probably is. You can also maybe lower it to 5 mgs for maybe 3 weeks, then jack it back up to 10 mgs if you feel you have to. That may help your body adjust to it. Good luck. ## Most medications in this class can cau...

Hypnotic (also called soporific) drugs are a class of psychoactives whose primary function is to induce sleep[1] and to be used in the treatment of insomnia, and in surgical anesthesia. When used in anesthesia to produce and maintain unconsciousness, "sleep" is metaphorical as there are no regular sleep stages or cyclical natural states; patients rarely recover from anesthesia feeling refreshed and with renewed energy. The bottom of both of my feet have a burning sensation especially when I go to bed and I can't sleep. My pain dr. prescribed Gabapentin 300mg (1 before going to bed for a week and then 2 thereafter). I've just started taking it last night and I couldn't get to sleep, tossing off and on all night. My primary dr. prescribed Zolpidem for sleeping which makes me sleep and I don't feel the burning sensation. My question is, can I take both meds before bedtime? ## Continue zolpiden no need to take gabapentin. I think Feeling burning sensation on your foot because of sleeplessness. So continue zolpiden ## Added info.: Dr. that prescribed Gabapentin stated my burning foot sensation is Restless Leg Syndrome. Do you still recommend taking Zolipen rather than Gabapentin? ## Hi Jim,...

white oval pill with 2326 on it will they help u sleep ## Hi Crystal, According to your description, the closest match I'm finding is a white oval-shaped pill imprinted with the numbers 23 | 26 on one side and a cursive "V" on the other. The "23 and 26" are also separated by a vertical score line. This medication is identified as a 1mg Benztropine mesylate tablet; which is most commonly used for treating symptoms of Parkinson's disease. I'm not certain as to whether or not it'll also help you sleep at night. But this medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses as well. You'd just have to talk with your doctor first to discuss its potential off-label uses. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Benztropine Details I hope this info hel...

Remeron helps me sleep great at night but doesnt help control my mood swings in the day though.. my doctor said it was a mood stabalizer and would help but yet I still see nothing! I still stay irritable during the day.. and I also take zoloft during the day but still nothing! So as far as remeron being a mood stabalizer its bull to me but does help me sleep, thats just about all it does ## Hello, Chrisyy! How are you? Zoloft is an SSRI antidepressant and Remeron is an NSS antidepressant, so based on that I can only guess that they just aren't the right medications to help your irritability. Have you talked to your doctor? You might want to ask them about trying an SNRI or a tetracyclic antidepressant.

im always in alot of pain so i take trmadol for pain but i cant sleep at night so i need to take zzzquil but i dont know if it would be safe. ## Hi, Julie! How are you? The Diphenhydramine in the Zzzquil can cause elevated levels of Serotonin and so can the Tramadol, so it's best not to mix them, unless your doctor says it's okay for you to do so. If your serotonin level goes too high, you can develop serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal. Learn more Tramadol details here. Learn more Zzzquil details here. And FYI for anyone looking to save some money, Diphenhydramine is the same ingredient in Benadryl and the store brand/generic equivalents, so you actually don't have to pay the price for this one. Is there anything else I can help with?

Why is it that I take a 10mg ambient, fall right asleep for about 2 hours then get up on and off throughout the night? ## Hello, Fran! How are you? For some people, the regular release formulation of this medication only helps them to fall asleep, but not stay asleep. However, there is a time released formulation called Ambien CR that is intended to help with that issue, so you may want ask your doctor about trying it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hallucinations, sleep actions and next day hangover-like effects. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I take half of a 10mg and chew it up. If I wake up a few hours later (often because of pain) I just chew up the other half and go back to sleep.

i have been on nuvigil for 5 gays 150 mg the first 3 days i felt great awake during the day and slept great at night. now when i take it I feel tired 3 hrs after i take it like i could take a nap. does that mean i need to take a higher dose or can i cut the pill in half and take it twice a day ## Hi there, I have been taking nuvigil for about a year now. I have severe narcolepsy & the 150mg did absolutely nothing for me either. I contacted my neurologist & he didn't hesitate to up my dose to 250mg & it immediately worked for me. Contrary to what most people believe, It all depends on how severe your sleep disorder is, and has nothing to do with your weight, gender, or age. I'm a 27 year old female, 125 lbs, 5'7". Is it ok to take 1 ALEAVE pm every night for muscle pain and help too sleep? ## Hello, Spice guy! How are you? I'm sorry you're in pain and having trouble sleeping. Over the counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories are really only intended for short-term occasional use, because there can be risks associated with their long-term use, such as liver damage or stomach damage. The best thing to do would be to use it for a short period of time, while waiting to see your doctor to get too the root of the problem and find a proper and safer solution. The FDA lists possible side effects as including nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?
