I am a 69 year old male who experienced upper gastric pain and was prescribed Mucosta t.i.d. times 7 days. After the very first dose of 1 tablet I began serious side effects: hypertension, constipation, inability to concentrate and panic attacks related to my inability to stop the effect of the drug. Depression and inability to experience happiness, or pleasure. I suspect my hypersensitivity may be related to the fact that I have genetically evolved essential tremor for which I have taken Corgard/Nadalol 40 mg for the past 20 years. WHAT IS THE HALF LIFE of Mucosta? I was given a 40 mg dose of Pantoloc which I also stopped taking after the first pill. I switched back to Omeprazole 20 mg which I took before with no problems and it seems to have ended the gastric pain.

I have been experiencing gastric problems after eating food each and every day. Because of it I had an Endoscopy per my doctor's suggestion. After that my doctor said there has no complications, but he prescribed Happi-D capsule every morning before food for three months and Happi 20 mg every night before food for one month. I continued those tabs for one month, but after that I have started noticing stomach pain. My question is, may I stop those medications without my doctor's advice? ## Hello, Jossy! How are you? That can be a side effects of these medications, according to the U.S. FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, and flatulence. You could stop them, if you wish, no one can force you to continue them, however, you're initial gastric issues will most likely return, if yo...

Was forced to take risperdal Consta injections for 5 months after an adverse reaction to prednisone. I have lost my ability to feel joy, love and happiness. I also have cognitive and memory difficulties. Apathy, fatigue and social anxiety are still lingering, even though I have been off the drug for 6 months. Prior to this "treatment" I had never been suicidal, now I pray for God to take me in my sleep. I have read dozens of message boards with countless people suffering from the same side effects, has ANYONE recovered after taking this poison? ## Hi Tracey, I'm very sorry to hear about the challenges you've been facing after taking Risperdal. I was on cymgen 120 mg for 6 months. Treatment for fibromaylgia. It made me mentally unstable. I had night mares twitching grinding teeth and felt no emotion. I was so desperate to be switched off. I considered suicide. I was admitted to hospital where they just added to my meds. This led to jerking and shaking. I decided to cut the meds down myself. And started to feel better. I went down to 60 mg of cymgen but the jerking and confusion didn't stop. This week I decided to stop it. Its been awful. But today for the first time im not twitching. And the jerking and fast heart rate has stopped. I still don't feel happiness But I'm on my way there. Cymgen was supposed to help with my physical pain but instead it drove me to madness. I was on cipralex for 8 years and I never felt...

I am keeping this brief: I have been taking Effexor for 3 months. I only take 75 mg. I have Major Dep and have tried many different meds for it. I am extremely sensitive to antidepressants and their side effects. So much so that I can't even go above 75mg per day. So here is me of Effexor: it helped right away. It was the best med for Dep I have taken so far. It is powerful and seems to hit the spot with me. I felt calmer, more alert, and all around happier- for about 2 months. Then the side effects started to get bad. When I first started on it, I had one or two Side Efx- excessive thirst, sweating. They were minor and a fair trade off for the effect of the drug. But my the start of the 3rd month, the side effects multiplied- excessive sweating, sleepiness, insomnia, thirst, loss o...

Hey, So my partner started taking gabapentin 3x300mg 3 times a day for rheumatoid arthritis in his feet he's only 29. He recognized this drug as something his friends use to take recreationally and we all know it effects us all differently. I'm bipolar get a little bored and curious not to mention noticed a change in his mood just in general a happier person so I thought I'd start taking them too just for the effect. I soon became addicted to the feeling of not really caring almost superior, I felt I could talk my way out of any situation and just loved life. Of course there's always a time you run out and with us both taking them he soon did. With the pain of arthritis coming and going there was always plenty for me. Hi, I am taking Lamictal, 150 mg, for years and years, along with an antidepressant - at the moment Lexapro - and for anxiety I take 1.5 mg of Klonopin. My diagnosis is dysthymia - constant low level depression - and I am struggling with it for years and it doesn't go away. I was my happiest on antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds only. That's why I'm planning on asking my shrink to stop the Lamictal. Have any of you experienced withdrawal symptoms and how do they manifest? Thank you! ## You will most likely have to taper off it, due to the fact that while it does help some people with mental health problems, it is actually an anticonvulsant, so stopping it abruptly could put you at risk of experiencing seizures, according to FDA warnings. Other withdrawals effects may incl...

Dr. started me on 150mg Nuvigil last week. I am chronically tired, unable to focus or concentrate, unmotivated and always feel somewhat "foggy". I started with 1/2 tablet (75mg), and first 2 days I felt simply amazing. Like a switch was flipped. I felt completely alert and focused, happier, energetic and motivated to do so much that I never have the drive to do! I tried a full dose on day 3 and it was not good- I had all the unpleasant side effects (rapid heart beat, dizziness, jitters) but instead of making me focused and alert, it made me feel jumbled and agitated. So I went back to 75 mg. I can still tell it's in my system b/c my heart rate still increases a little, but other than that I can't tell that it's working anymore. 2-4 hours in I feel that little bit of ...

I was on lexapro for nine months. I put on ten kilos and so I changed to pristiq six weeks ago. I felt awful the whole time and so have decided to go off all medication. I have gone cold turkey three days ago. I'm constantly dizzy, it feels like my brain is a second behind real time. I have terrible diarrhea and my whole body hurts. Strangely enough I am a great deal happier in my mood. A little anxiety but so far no depression or rage. Should I expect worse? How long will it all last? ## After being on them for almost a year, it may take several weeks for the effects to all taper off, because your body has to readjust your brain chemicals on its own. Learn more Pristiq details here. If you quit just 3 days ago, it may get a little worse and you could still experience some rebound e...
