I have been on Eliquis since 2016. I was first on 5M twice a day after suffering a small stroke. I had bleeding behind my right eye and blood in my urine. I was then put on 2.5 twice a day. Still get nosebleeds. I have gained 20lbs am extremely tired all the time and feel like the life is drained out of me. Starting in July I have had stomach problems and the gastroenterologist put me on a low food map diet. After two weeks I re-introduced dairy. I had ice cream and had extreme diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain. It seems I am now lactose intolerant. ## Lactose is an ingredient in Eliquis. ## You need to taper off it and/or take another blood thinner. My husband was on Coumadin from CHF at 50 years old for five years. His nose bled for years so I took him for second opinion. The doctor...

Approximately 5 hours after taking 1 tab of evista, severe vomiting and diarrhea developed lasting almost 4hrs....this was the second time..Prior to this, I have had no GI problems except getting a bacterial infection 6yrs ago in a Caribbean resort in D.R. Has anyone had any of these side effects from taking evista? Any info on this topic? Thanks! ## Evista contains the active ingredient Raloxifene, it is used to treat or prevent Osteoporosis and yes, what you've described can be common side effects of this medication. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? If they are that severe, this may not be the right medication for you to use and you may need to try something else.

Hi all, I've started retaking lorazepam temporarily until my xanax prescription comes in. I originally went off lorazepam a year ago because it affected my stomach. I am not sure how to describe it. It doesn't hurt, not diarrhea or constipation, but it immediately starts feeling uncomfortable once the lorazepam kicks in. I told my psych but he acted like that was an unusual side effect, and made it seem like I must be misunderstanding an actual side effect. I wish I could describe it better but my stomach without fail will feel uncomfortable after taking lorazepam and eating food on top of it makes me feel worse. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Hopefully I will go back to xanax soon, but this has always stumped me. Thanks for your help! ## Hello, Katharine! How are yo...

I will be traveling to Mexico very soon. And besides the logical precautions like not drinking water or drinks with ice or raw foods and vegetables, is there any medication I can take beforehand to prevent the horrible Moctezuma's revenge...someone told me to take Pentrexyl..is this right ? and what dosage and how often... ## Pentrexyl is a brand of ampicillin available in some countries like Norway and Mexico but not available in the United States. The usual adult dosage for this medication is 250 to 500 mg orally every 6 hours for 5-10 days, depending on the nature and severity of the infection. I wouldn't recommend taking it until you have an infection though, otherwise treatment may prove to be useless, due to antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria. I hope this info helps!

Hello, My father, a diabetic from last 10 years, suffered from a heart attack 2 months back and had an angioplasty done with 2 stents implanted. He has been prescribed medicines such as Aspirin (Ecosprin-AV 150 ) and Clopidogrel (clopilet 75) among others. After taking these medicines for 2 months, he suffered from extreme gastrointestinal bleeding and had to be hospitalized under ICU care and was also administered 6 bottles of blood. Now he is fine, but it is known that the main undesirable side effects of aspirin are gastrointestinal bleeding, stomach bleeding, etc especially in higher doses. My doctor tells me that it is necessary to continue with the aspirin for the sake of stents implanted. I am afraid that continuing with this medicine may cause another bout of stomach/gasto-intes...

I'm going to be going back on Topamax after coming off it due to gastrointestinal issues. It is the only thing that keeps me from getting migraines and there is no pain involved with the stomach problems. However, the side effect is unpleasant. What does your normal diet consist of? The FDA warns that you should not follow any high fat, low carb diet while taking this medication.
