Excedrin is for 1. back, 2, sinus, 3 migraine, etc. All appear to have the same or almost the same formulation. I take it for the onset of sinus migraines. Works beautifully and sinuses drain within 30 min, usually preventing migraines. In the rare case Excedrin doesn't work, I have Imitrex on hand.

Can Excedrin P.M. cause bad dreams? ## That is a side effect that's known to occur with most all medications. Other side effects of Excedrin PM may include grogginess, dry mouth, and dizziness. However, these is no way to say for sure that the Excedrin PM caused it, since everyone has nightmares, at least once in awhile. Ref: Medication Nightmare Study Do you experience nightmares every time you take it?

I was prescribed 20 mg predizone for my hands. I started taking them yesterday. I only took one o at 4: 00 pm. Now its 6/3/17 at 8: 07 am. I have a headache. My question is, can I take one excedrine now and then at 4: 00 take my next dose of predizone.? ## Generally, the FDA recommends that you not take the Excedrin with Prednisone, due to the Aspirin in it and the fact that it can compound the gastrointestinal issues that both risk causing as side effects, such as nausea, bleeding, and ulcers. If your doctor approves, it might be better to just stick with Tylenol/Acetaminophen, while you are taking the prednisone. Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm taking 50 mg trazodone for insomnia. Some nights I have a lot of hip pain. Could I also take an Excedrin pm? ## It is generally best not to combine the 2, unless your doctor instructs otherwise, since the Excedrin PM also contains a medication to help induce sleep, according to the FDA. Taking them together could cause you to experience too much sedation, which may result in respiratory distress, or respiratory failure. Are you on any other medications?

Hello. I took 2 Excedrin Extra Strength tablets yesterday for pain in my neck, shoulder & arm from maybe sleeping wrong... I noticed I started feeling real nauseated & dizzy. So I went to lay down & that didn't work, so I ate dinner to see if it would stop, but no, it just got worst & I vomited everything. This morning I still feel the same & ate 1 bowl of cereal & still feel nauseated/tired, just like eewwwww.....What should I do? ## Those can be normal side effects of this medication, according to FDA reports. IT can also cause headache, nervousness, and insomnia. Unfortunately, only time will allow it to improve, but if it continues for more than another day, or two, you should consult your doctor to be safe. has there been any change? How are you feeling,...

I can't take aspirin so I have been taking aspirin free excedrin. All of a sudden I can't find it anywhere. Am told that they recalled it because they found glass in it. ## We did not take anything off the market, this is an information only website, this site does not manufacture, nor sell any products, of any type. Yes, they did find contaminants in some batches of Excedrin and there was a recall. However, there are other products available, such as the store brands, which contain the same active ingredients. The Aspirin Free Excedrin contains Acetaminophen and Caffeine, so you may want to ask your pharmacist what else they have that contains the same active ingredients. If you don't actually need the caffeine, then you could just pick up Tylenol, or its store brand/generi...

What is the best substitute for Excedrin Migraine ## There are some generics, but from what I've heard from others that have tried them, none of them seem to work as well. Learn more Aspirin details here. Learn more Acetaminophen details here. Learn more Caffeine details here. The best suggestion I can really make is to check with your doctor, or pharmacist and see if they can recommend something that might help. Does anyone else have any ideas?

If excedrin pm and aleve are combined, what happens ## It depends on the amount that is combined. Large amounts of it could cause severe organ damage and/or a fatal overdose. However, a normal dose will usually just result in upset stomach, headache, vomiting and stomach irritation. You may also get really drowsy and dizzy. In general, they really shouldn't be combined, because you are combining medications that all do the same things, so it isn't necessary. The Excedrin PM contains Acetaminophen and Diphenhydramine: and the Aleve contains Naproxen: Also, combining them regularly can result in organ damage, or stomach conditions such as ulcers and gastritis. Have you been combining them? ## I accidently took 2 advil pm's and then 1 hour leter took 2 aleves ## I got confused ...

It's Excedrin migraine. Available over the counter. An innocent headache med. Still, I do not recommend taking it. ## Hi Amy, thanks for the heads up on the pill identification. I didn't notice anyone asking about it, but I would agree that there are other treatment options for a headache that don't necessarily require a pill or use acetaminophen/caffeine to combat tension. Whatever it may be that is causing one's headache to manifest, practicing mindfulness meditation throughout the day is an excellent remedy (at least in my own experience) that can be applied on the spot to create a sense of relief. When I personally maintain my peace of mind, headaches cease to exist. However when the mind is stressed out and out of balance one's body is more prone to catch and ho...

Why hasn't excedrin migraine returned ? ## Hi Gigi, Apparently it was just a precautionary recall, but I did find some more details on this topic (from the manufacturer Novartis) in an article linked below: huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/11/excedrin-recall-migraine-medicine-novartis_n_1664974.html Excedrin Migraine contains a combination of 250 milligrams of aspirin, 250 milligrams of acetaminophen (Tylenol is a popular brand) and 65 milligrams of caffeine. Wouldn't taking an aspirin, a Tylenol, and washing them down with a caffeinated drink (such as tea) accomplish the same thing?
