My current doctor is moving out of state I have been on a good regiment with her for my pain medication. Now that she is leaving I was told the other doctor in the practice will follow her patients and prescribe the way she does. However before all this with my doctor leaving she refused to write for narcotics. With that said I am worried that 2 months down the line she won't follow what was set up. If anyone knows of any doctors or nurse practitioners in the Capital District area that would be helpful. I would be willing to travel a little.

Does anyone know of a good PCP in the Columbus Ohio area willing to prescribe Norcos for pain of the middle to lower back? Please let me know as I am in a bit of pain and just moved to the area. Thanks. ## Hi James, I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in locating pain management doctors within your general area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other page a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another: wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist Many of the results you find (in one or both of the links above) also list a phone number for that specific doctor; I'd consider...

I am on disability for chronic back pain and degenerative disk disease, in the past I have been on 80 mil oxicontin for about eight years, but have not been on any medications in the past year. I am now at the point of needing pain meds again. ## Hello, Stan! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. If you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, asking them to refer you to someone would most likely be the quickest and easiest way to get the help you need. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## There are no new regu...

I need to find a Dr. To write a Rx. For hydrocodin for chronic back pain, where can I find one in Southern Louisiana? ## Well, first of all, there is no listing to refer to that tells you what doctors in any given location will prescribe any given medication. And the next issues is that you really aren't going to be able to see a new doctor and ask for a specific medication, because they are taught to see that as drug seeking behavior. Learn more Vicodin details here. Your best bet, if you need long-term pain management, is to see a pain management specialist and set up an appointment to get in the door, without asking is they will prescribe anything. Then make sure that they get a full copy of your medical records, so the documented medical problems and notes from your prior doctor...

Hi everyone. I currently suffer from severe chronic pain. I have multiple conditions one of them being chronic renal colic. Another being degeneration of discs in my lower back. I will be moving to Texas next month and need to find a pain management clinic that is compassionate, doesn't treat people like drug seekers when they truly need the help and a doctor who is not super conservative. I need a doctor willing to prescribe any narcotic and prescribes what works for me. Cash only "wellness" clinics are ok for the time being. Informing me of a pain doctor in Fort Worth Dallas Austin Houston or San Antonio is fine. Thanks in advance. ## Were you able to find any specialists to help you with your medication needs? If so, can you please share who? I have a long list of chronic...

Hi I am trying to find a doctor in the Rochester, NY area that will prescribe hydrocodone or oxycodone. I am even willing to travel to Buffalo area, that is how hard it is to find a doctor that just doesn't want to give you a bunch of shots that don't work. I have been on opiates for 15 years. I just recently left my pain doctor that was prescribing me fentanyl. I asked to be switched to something not as strong and an oral medication. I hated the patches. She refused and wrote me for a month and told me to find a different doctor. Now I am in a pain management setting that will only do inj's., I just want to be pain free and be able to play with my daughter again. I feel horrible when she asks when my back is going to be fixed. She is only 5 so she doesn't understand. I ...

I have been seen by the lexington va for 2 years now with constant back pain. I've had shots and therapy for the pain. The only thin my PCM is giving me is tramadol which I have been on for 2 years and is just not doing anything to help. ## Due to the new regulations that have been put in place, if you're looking outside of the VA, you'll need to see a pain management specialist to possibly have anything stronger prescribed. Have you tried asking your doctor to refer you to someone that can help more? Most VA's have their own pain management clinics. Have you tried that, yet? ## There are no new regulations stating only pain management drs can treat chronic pain. Although many drs prefer not to treat it. You can try another primary care dr or you can ask your primary car...

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If...

Does anyone know of a doctor who is willing to prescribe pain medication (oxycodone) in Salt Lake City, UT? ## Hi Joe, Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not just on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure ...

Buldging disk in lower back and also broke my L2 vertebrae in 2006 pain is intolerable ## Hello, Tamtam! How are you? Due to the new regulations set forth by the DEA last year, you'll need to see a specialist to have pain medications prescribed. A general practitioner won't prescribe there for you. However, do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? ## I've tried Piedmont Comprehensive Pain Management in Greenville and the dr I'm seeing cut my pain meds in half at my first visit and is threatening to not prescribe "one single pill".
