my mother is currently taking opana IR 10mg and i was wondering if this drug is dangerous for people who have COPD & emphazemia cause i notice that she has a harder time breathing after she takes it. ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, it is a narcotic, so it can cause depression of the central nervous system, as well as respiratory depression, so that is what may be causing her problem. I have had problems with my feet and legs swelling for over 10 years. Recently, I was placed on Prednisone by the doctor for possible RA. The fluid retention in my feet and legs have gone down considerably. I know that this is not the normal side effect taking this medication.
