I finished cipro 2 days ago for a UTI. Now I have sinus drip, scratchy throat and wheezing. Is it ok to take amoxicillin 500? ## You should take it, if your doctor has instructed you to do so, it can be far more risky to let an infection continue out of control. Had an ear infection for many years now, (6 years)which flares up every now and then. Go to the Doctors and get antibiotics, drops etc but it still comes BACK! I am allergic to Penicillins-hives & acute breathing reaction; Bactrim-acute breathing reaction; Ceclor-shortness of breath; Vicodin-shortness of breath; Clindamycin-shortness of breath. In addition, Cipro has a rare but serious possibility of causing a severe condition known as Cipro Tendonitis. Again, while it's rare, it can lead to lifelong disability! Since sinus infections are rarely caused by bacteria, that would be awful to have become disabled after taking a drug that you didn't even need in the first place, wouldn't it? You may want to speak to your doctor about the need for this drug.

Never had a problem with antibiotics. This one gave me cdif. I am still trying to get rid of cdif after six weeks and two more rounds of flagyl. ## I am not sure what cdif is. After having 2 sinus infections within a month, I was pretty sure I had yet another one. I took Cipro for the first two and they seemed to go away. I was sure that I had one again, so I returned to the doctor. He prescribed that SMZ-TMP double str. 800-160. I read the side effects that came with my prescription and thought, wow there are ALOT of side affects to this medication!
