Can I drink sometime when I am taking cipralex 10 mg? ## Hello, Jack! How are you? It is never a good idea to drink alcohol, when taking any prescription medication. Cipralex contains the active ingredient Escitalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant. If taken with alcohol, it can cause a worsening of the side effects, making one drink affect you the same as two and etc. Learn more Escitalopram details here. Due to the possible effects on your stomach and cardiovascular system, it's best to abstain, unless your doctor specifically says it's okay for you to do so. I have been taking Cipralex/Lexamil 20mg for a number of years and would like to come off them. I am currently taking one every other day. I would like a tapering off plan as I am not sure how long it takes to come off them? I know its gradual but is it weeks or months? Thank you ## just keep slowly reducing you intake of the med. for each decrease in the amount of the dose say you want to go from 20 to 10, you will have to take about one to two months slowly decreasing the frequency when you take it. say you start with one day for two weeks then two days and so on until you get it down to taking only 5mg once a week then cut that in half and taper that off for about a month and then just stop altogether. I did that when i was taking 1000mg of oxycontin a day. it takes awhile but it doe...

Many thanks ## I was on amit for quite a while when i was diagnosed with under active thyroid, the effect was devastating my weight shot up to 22 stone also my prostate gland became enlarged making it almost impossible to pass water, this then led to extreme water retention further increasing my weight and eventually it became impossible to walk more than a few yards without extreme pain in my lower back (kidney area) my doctor never made the connection, and it was onl...

anti-depressant ## Cipralex is a brand name for Escitalopram, also sold under the brand name Lexapro. It is an SSRI antidepressant. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and headache. Another thing you should be aware of when taking any of this class of antidepressants is that, in some people, they can also cause severe weight gain. I was on Zoloft for several years and it is the only time in my life I ever gained weight, even though my eating and activity habits did not change. Once I stopped taking it, the weight immediately dropped off. Does anyone else have experience using this drug, or drugs in this class? ## Have been on Cyprolex for 18 months; excessive weight gain for sure and nausea. Was prescribed this med for the first time in my life du...

is it as effective as cipralex? I responded well on cipralex but now my medical aid is only providing citraz ## In theory, it should work the same, because they both contain the same active ingredient Escitalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant. Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor?

Hello! I started 10 mg cipralex one month ago and each day I feel like a new cognitive issue is coming up. The last 4 days I have been saying the wrong words in sentences like "watch your shoes" instead of "wear your shoes". This is driving me nuts. Has anyone else experienced these things while on cipralex? ## Im on quetiapine and venlafaxine. The same happens to me. Ill mix up words too. ## Thank you for the reply. It makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one. I was starting to worry that I was getting early onset dementia!

antidepressant, one a day ## I was prescribed Cipralex 25mg once a day, I took the first one on the saturday and couldn't get out of bed or eat/drink for four days, when I finally got to speak to my doctor he said he would leave me a prescription for 5mg dose, needless to say I have not picked these up, it was scary to say the least I wasn't feeling suicidal before taking but was on taking them, bad very bad, not an experience I want to have again, so I have gone back on to mirtazapine 4 at night at 15mg each one, feeling much better now.

I have just tapered off Wellbutrin and Cipralex and ramped up from 5mg to 10mg Trintillex. Luckily I wasn't hit with any nausea, which I had been dreading, and have more energy (which for me feels a bit manic compared to the sloth I'm used to). Skin, eye, nose dryness is almost unbearable though. My eyes sting, and even with moisturizer, my face is cracking. Will this ease up as I adjust to the med? Will any oil supplements help? I was terrified to change meds after a previous nightmarish experience. I don't want dehydration to be the make it break for this med. ## Those aren't normal side effects, according to the NIH, but may be due to the combination of stopping the others and then starting this new medication. white, round, 20mg tablets. Depression?? ## just was given cipralex to try for depression and anxiety - been on zoloft, effexor then prestiq - just wondered if anyone has had any good results ## I have been taking Lexam for approx 4 mths and found it to be far better than Zoloft or the mulitude of others I've been put on in the past. As I'm single I can't comment on any issues with Libido, something that it definitely affected by Zoloft, but I can say that it definitely makes it easier to get up each day. I sleep less (unlike when on Endep) and have more energy than before. I've had no issues with weight gain for once. If anything I've lost a little because I'm not gorging myself with comfort foods. I hope it works as well for you. ## Escitalopram is used to trea...

I take 30 mg of Prevacid , 10 mg Lipitor , 10 mg Cipralex at bed time. Supper time I take Ferrous Gluconate 300 mg. Today the doctor diagnosed me with a UTI, and given APO-Sulfatrim DS 800/160 mg 1 tablet twice a day. My question is, is this antibiotic okay with everything I'm taking? Any interactions with anything? Thanks, Stella ## Hello, Stella! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but you should double check this information to be certain. Side effects to the antibiotic may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
