I would like to know more about the clinical use of Cintapride. ## Cisapride is a Benzamide derivative used as a Parasympathomimetic and Gastroprokinetic agent that acts as a Serotonin 5-ht4 receptor agonist. Clinical uses of this drug reportedly include: Increasing muscle tone in the esophageal sphincter in people with gastroesophageal reflux disease. It also increases gastric emptying in people with diabetic gastroparesis. It has also been used to treat bowel constipation. ## My wife is suffering from heavy breathing. Can Cintapride help? ## Heavy breathing may be due to a respiratory problem or a heart problem... What is her age and is she having trouble during exertion like heavy work or trouble breathing at rest?

once a day dosing of prokinetic drug cintapride ## It it is a Prokinetic and anti-ulcer drug of the Benzamide class, used primarily in India. I do not have a lot of information on it, since it is not approved in the U.S. but most drugs in this class have side effects such as: nausea, drowsiness, abdominal pain and flatulence. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Does Cintapride have any gastroprotective action? If so, how does it work? ## Yes, it does. It is a receptor agonist, so it helps reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach. This can help treat or prevent conditions such as heartburn, GERD, ulcers and gastritis.
