I found a half of an oblong shaped white pill. it is cut in half and one side says in lowercase "ba" and the other side says 10. any idea what this could be? ## Hmmm..not knowing the full imprint makes this kind of difficult to narrow down. I've tried doing a search, but I am really not finding anything that matches this. Can you tell me if the ba would be on the pill as the beginning or last half of the imprint? Same question for the 10? Also, was this found in the U.S.?

Doctor prescribed Tylenol #4 for shingles pain. Can Tylenol #4 be split in half? There is too much codeine in a whole one. It makes me light headed and nauseous. ## To the person asking about splitting Tylenol # 4 in half as it is making you feel nausea. My advice would be to make sure you're not talking it on an empty stomach, as with most pain medications they should be taken with food, however, always read and follow any prescriptions directions and understand their side effects. I would immediately stop taking the medication and consult your Doctor to insure your not taking any conflicting medications; or try a synthetic pain reliever such as Hydrocodone, as many people are allergic to Codeine. Personally however I think Codeine/tylenol # 3 and #4 are junk drugs that's uses ...

Recently (within the last 24-hours) I was FINALLY taken off my Effexor. My blood pressure has been terribly high (189/99 yesterday) for at least two years and I always suspected it was related to my Effexor. My first day off Effexor, my blood pressure was down to 132/75. The Effexor was replaced with 10mg of Brintellix. Sweet lord.... I cannot remember the last time I was, or have ever been, so violently ill. I was sick for HOURS. I tried to replenish my fluids. I was not successful. Well, more accurately, I was able to get some fluids down but they quickly reappeared. I read the enclosed product information and 100% of the Brintellix website. I was unable to find information about splitting the tablets. I realize there is a 5mg tablet, as a dosing option. However, I'm returning bac...

small round blue pill with an R on one side and a line on the other side with the numbers 031 ## To answer your question, yes, this pill can be split in half since there is a score line on the pill. I have also seen 0.5 mg doses of this drug, so it would only make sense to me that this can be done. For more information about this drug, please refer to the link below... If you have any other questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## Totally agree with David's reply. ANY tablet can be cut if it is scored. The score is an real indication of permission. Pill cutters brought from pharmacys can come in handy and give you a better chance of breaking it evenly if cutting on a regular bases. ## I have, alprozolam 2.0 can I cut it in half if I don't want t...

Can a Zolpidem 10 Mg round tablet be split and administered safely? ## Can A Zolpidem 10 Mg Tab (93/74) Be Split? ## Yes, it is safe to split any tablet, unless you are specifically told not to by your doctor or pharmacist, or if it is a time released medication. Zolpidem, the generic for Ambien is used for the short-term treatment of insomnia. read more: Are there any other questions? ## I do believe that you are only supposed to split a pill is it has a score on it, otherwise it is considered to be time released.

the 12 mg is too much- can I use a pill spliter with the ambien cr ## No, Ambien CR is a time released tablet and splitting the pill could result in your getting too much of the medication at once. In this case, the only solution is to ask your doctor to prescribe a lower dose or a non-time released formulation. Are there any questions or comments?

I just had surgery and they gave me endocet 10mg, and I'm getting sick in my belly. I've been on percs or hydros at higher doses because of cancer and nothing has ever done this, so can i take half or is the oxy in one half of the tablet and Tylenol in other half? ## Yes, Endocet is made up of 10 mg oxycodone, and 325 mg of Tylenol (acetaminophen). Have you taken this generic before? You might just need to eat jello or a popsicle or something light with it to alleviate the nausea, and lay down and move around as little as possible after taking it. Maybe these things will help you feel better. A half of a 10 mg. should help you. If not, and you tolerate it ok, then you could follow the same steps I suggested; and take the other half. Good luck and God Bless, hope you feel better ...

Hi I was prescribed Vagifem 25 for vaginal dryness and could not tolerate it- heart betting, chest pain - I was now prescribed Vagifem 10. I am a little scared to try this one. Can I split it if half to see if I have any discomfort and maybe upgrade if everything goes well. ## Hi Josee I was prescribed Vagifem 25 and only used it for 3 days. Side effects were: heart pounding, headaches, leg pain, nausea, vertigo, dizziness, visual distubances and excessive vaginal discharge. That was a month ago and I am still unable to shake the nausea, vertigo and headaches. Perhaps there is no safe level for this drug! Be very careful. I would love to hear from others who continue to experience side-effects after stopping hormone therapy. ## Vagifem is an Estradiol (Estrogen) vaginal insert tablet, w...

Can I cut a 5mg eliquis in half, instead of getting the 2.5mg ones? I need to reduce the dosage after a successful ablation. Please comment. Thanks! ## Can I split a 10 mg pill of Eliquis in half? ## Does the tablet have a score line? It appears that the Eliquis tablets are film coated according to what I see on DailyMed. If there's no score line then I would not recommend it. ## Eliquis does not come in a 10 mg. tablet, just 2.5 and 5 mg. 2nd Eliquis is not scored, 3rd Eliquis is not film coated, just a simple compressed tablet. The tablet is so small it would really be difficult to split evenly. ## What did your doctor tell you to do? If he/she told you to decrease your dosage, why can't they give you another Rx? I don't think Eliquis is a drug you can or should cut in hal...

The pharmacy pamphlet says not to break or crush but I'm wondering if I can split my 20 MG Dicyclomine tablets in half to see what effects the med will have on me before taking a whole 20 MG tablet. I have read on forums that people do split them all the time but I would feel better hearing the answer from a professional. So is it okay ti split a 20 MG dicyclomine tablet in half? ## If the instructions for the ones you have say not to break, or crush them, then you should not do so. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I didn't realize anything said you weren't supposed to break them. Obviously that wouldn't work with capsules lol, ...

My doctor changed my Nexium prescription from 40 mg to 20 mg. Can I separate the pills I have in half so I don't waste what I have? ## No, you can't safely split a capsule, because there is no way to ensure that you are evenly splitting the amount of the medication that is inside them. Learn more Nexium details here. Why did your doctor lower the dosage? Unless there was some reason for doing so, there is likely little harm in finishing up what you have of the higher one and then moving to the lower dosage, since this is just a proton pump inhibitor that reduces the amount of acid your stomach produces. ## I just tried Nexium 24 (20 mg pills), and it worked great at stopping my heartburn, which I get every day and sometimes multiple times/day, but, it gave me bad cramps and diar...

Doctor told me to half my 30 mg. MS-CONTIN but the package said this pill should not be split. It is a small mauve pill. I believe it is time-relased. ## Time released (also known as controlled release [CR], or extended release [ER]) generally should not be split because of how they are designed. Do the pills in question have any score marks on them? If they are scored then you should be able to split them. If not, then I would triple check with the pharmacy to get their opinion. When in doubt I'd stick with the instructions on the label. You might even want to get in touch with your doctor (if possible) and tell them that the package specifically states not to split the pill and ask them what they think. Hope this helps! ## Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I called the phar...

According to the FDA information, Ativan tablets are regular release formulations, so cutting or breaking one is safe to do, as long as your doctor approves. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Do you regularly have stomach problems? This medication isn't known to be very harsh on the stomach, but they can all irritate to some degree, whether cut or left intact.

I was taking 90 mg cap x 1 a day. Was switched to 45 mg 2 x a day. Can I just take unused 90 mg & separate evenly ? Even though time release type the spit can't be that much different in quantity. Half is half. Saw earlier that to dangerous to split but don't understand why it would be, especially if you're only actually taking a total of 90 mg a day. Thanks for any thoughts on this ## Because cutting, crushing or splitting time released tablets or capsules could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once. In this case, it may not all be evenly spread throughout and the outer coating could actually be vital to the time released mechanism. No, I understand that in your case, it may not make as big of a difference, since you were taking 90mgs at once, but doing s...

I picked up a new RX today for Topiramate 50mg. I received separate instructions from the doctor as well as what is written on the bottle; Take 1/2 pill at bedtime for 1week, then increase by 1/2 tablet each week until you are taking 2 tablets per day (for a total of 100mg daily). Unfortunately this particular pill does not have a center line to divide the pill. I am taking oxycodo-APAP 10-325 ,a generic for Percocet. It is an oval shape withM523 on one side and 10/325 on the other. My Dr. said I could split the pill if it is too strong. But there is no score line. Can or should this pill be spit to receive half the dosage? ## The best advice I can give is to listen to what your doctor said. From personal experience when there was no score line on a pill I would still cut in half if it was too strong and simply take half the dose. I don't think you should worry if your doctor gave you the ok to do so. After splitting the pill in half, just be sure to follow your doctors orders on when to take the pill every so many hours.

can you split a subutex in half or quarters like strip? I'm on suboxone and i cut mine into halves and quarters, but I didn't know if it was possible to do it with Subutex? Please Help. ## Yes, as long as your doctor approves, it is not time released.
