I had bunion surgery 7 wks ago. my foot is still swolen and in a lot of pain. I took my 1st 15 mg Meloxicam last evening and was wondering how long it takes to take effect. Also it seems that most people have been prescribed Meloxicam for muscle pain and arthritis do you think it's appropriate for me since mine is an acute injury? I'm a bit fearful of taking this med due to it's possible side effects. ## Hello, Renee! How are you? The FDA classifies Meloxicam as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever and swelling, so yes, it can also be used for problems such as yours. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. It should have some pain relief properties shortly afte...

I took keflex for a week after bunion surgery. I lost 40 percent of my hair. It was an all over thinning. It receded in my temples. While it was falling out, it felt like someone took a blow torch to my head. I was then pressured into to trying mobic. The hair loss hadn't started yet. Takes a couple months. Anyway, as soon as I took it, I was a mess. I now have IBS D and C. It's horrible. I had no idea this could happen. My life is ruined! Perscription doesn't warn you, doctor doesn't either. I won't go into the side effects. There's way to many! I'm getting a lawyer! If you look up the side effects online, it doesn't warn you there either. Unless you specifically type in hair loss, or IBS from keflex or mobic. Can't cure it either. You can treat with...

I just had a bunionectomy today and the doctor have me oxycodone - acetaminophen 5-325 and meloxicam for pain and inflammation. I have already been taking the trazadone 100mg for sleep at night. In the mornings I take effexor for depression and topiramate for migraines. Please let me knowif ii can take the pain mes with the trazadone ## Hello, Based on my research there are potentially unsafe drug interactions listed between Oxycodone and Trazodone; as well as Effexor (venlafaxine) and Trazodone. Apparently, taking either of these drug combinations together can increase your risk of developing serious symptoms associated with serotonin syndrome. Due to the severe nature of serotonin syndrome, it sounds like your best bet would be to sit down with your doctor and talk about these concern...

My girlfriend had surgery on her right foot she has pins in her 2nd anD 3rd toes and 3 screwdozen to fix a bunion. They gave her oxcicodon and tramadol can she alternate taking them ## While it is always best to follow the advice of one's doctor, that can be done, if necessary and the doctor, or pharmacist doesn't feel there is a reason it isn't safe for her to do so. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is there a safe over the counter pain medication to take while using losartan 50mg? I have a painful bunion on my toe. ## Hello, Nate! How are you? I'm sorry about the bunion, they can be very painful. What is your usual preferred medication? There are too many available for me to be able to check them all for interactions for you. Can you please post back and clarify? There are some over the counter topical products that can help by numbing it, or adding a layer of cushioning. The NIH also states that there are some minor surgical options that can help.

I have sciatica , healing broken jaw, neck and back injuries. I cannot walk very far due to my painful bunions problems. Recently was In a head on collision. And it was bady neck pain and leg pain is still unbearable. I can't even pick my daughter up @ school. ## Hello, Megan! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. However, there really aren't any 'liberal' pain management doctors, anymore. Due to the new regulations that were put in place, they have to be very careful about what they prescribe, why they prescribe it and how much they prescribe, or they run the risk of losing their license to practice medicine, as well as fine and jail time. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to...

I cannot take ibuprofin because it causes severe insomnia for me. I bought diclofenaco sodico in Mexico for help with my pain from a bunionectomy but am afraid to take it because someone on this string said it's like ibuprofin. Another friend told me that it's the same as Tylenol. Are either of these true? ## The active ingredient in this medication is Diclofenac Sodium, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it is in the same drug class as Ibuprofen. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. However, that doesn't mean it will cause the same problem for you that Ibuprofen did, but there is also a chance that it will. Is there anything else I can help with?

Worried about deadly effect of Vicodine. I do suffer from extreme pain from Gout and extreme bunions. ## The 5gs of Hydrocodone in this is a narcotic opiate and is coupled with 325gs of Acetaminophen. However, the only way it would really be deadly is if someone had a severe allergy to one of the ingredients or if you would overdose on it. The normal side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness, constipation and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other questions? ## Buy the book one minute cure. Then buy jutrian rx blue. Always consult your doctor before taking but it will get rid of the gout follow the protocol in the book

My local dispensers tell me 100 mg tablets are no longer available from any manufacturer, even though the 300 mg tablets are still available. Does anyone know anything about this? ## My husband just had bunion surgery this morning and the doctor informed us he also found gout when the toe was opened however, you say your local dispensers tell you that 100 mg tables are not longer available but I had to pick up a RX for him when he left the hospital and it was for Allopurinol 100mg. We got it filled at a wal-greens pharmacy ## AS of November 6, 2014, Express-Scripts does not have ANY Allopurinol 300 mg OR 100 mg. The E-S druggist told me that they haven't had any 300 mg since January 2014. The customer service at E-S told me to get it at a local pharmacy and then deleted my prescript...
