The reason I do not believe that this pill is a controlled medication is because the FDA requires that all controlled medication be marked or imprinted for identification purposes. What is an oblong black pill with nothing written on it? No markings, just the seams where it looks to be sealed. It has what looks like brown liquid/mushy stuff inside, is about an inch long and half a centimeter wide. ## @sherry, May I ask whereabouts you found this pill? I did come across another post describing a black gel capsule with no markings to be some sort of Testosterone supplement, however they didn't open it up to confirm what was inside. #17 on one side nothing on the other ## I was able to locate #17 on a white pill and a pink pill, but not a black and white pill. Do you live in the US? The reason I'm asking, is because to locate a pill that is not from the US will be very difficult. If you are in the US then please post back with any more information so I can help you better.

i found an orange and black pill (capsule) in my son's room with what looks to be a white 'D' on it ## Unfortunately, after trying several searches I haven't been able to locate a match in any of the U.S. prescription drug databases, nor any related possibilities on google. It very likely that it could be a party drug, a fake pill, or possibly manufactured outside of the U.S. depending on who your son obtained the pill from. If you're able to, I would consider taking the pill over to your local pharmacy and having it analyzed by their team to see if they can come up with anything. I found a round black pill no markings can you help me ## Hello Carol, All regulated medicine is required by the FDA to be identifiable by its physical appearance (imprint, shape, size, color etc.) With that in mind is unlikely that what you have is a medication, which would leave the options of vitamin/supplement or illegal substance. It is most likely a supplement or vitamin which makes identifying the pill very difficult due to the number of brands and types. You can take it down to a pharmacy and see if they will analyze the contents for you. You can also dispose of the pill at any of your local drug drop off points, commonly located at hospitals and pharmacies. I hope this information helps.

Could order from magazine in early 90s ## Hi Chaya, What type of medication are you referring to? There are many black capsules that could be OTC, Rx, or even dietary supplements; so I can't really narrow down what you're looking for until we get a name or imprint. I doubt the availability is there if you're ordering medications from a magazine that's at least 20 years old. However if you did order from a magazine, odds are it probably wasn't a prescription or OTC drug. It could very well be a supplement of some sort. Have you had any experience taking them in the past?

I found a black and red capsule pill that has Dex twice on both halfs (red and black ) ## Hi Samiam, I located a black capsule that has 'Dex' twice (once on each half) that is rumored to be diet / stimulant related, and could possibly contain ephedrine, dexedrine, or hoodia. These are the three main prospects I've honed in on, although I still think a lab analysis would probably be your best bet for narrowing down the options. Also, there's a manufacturer by the name of Delmar Labs who is known for putting "DEX" on their capsules. Perhaps that company may have some leads... I hope this helps!

I found a hot pink oval shaped pill in my daughters room with a black N printed on one side and nothing on the other, anytime i try searching for it all that comes up are the N 30 morphine pills but this looks nothing like that, theres no score so you can not break it in half, theres no 30 (or any number) printed on it and like it said the N is printed ONTO it with black ink not imprinted in it, please help! btw i am in canada so that might be why i havent had any luck

I found a pill bottle in my house full of these. They have no markings on them, and they are a bit powdery. They kind of resemble the 'black snake' fireworks, but I know for a fact that they are not. I'm thinking it might be carbon, but I got no idea. ## With no markings and going by that description, some type of carbon/charcoal would be my best guess as well. Learn more activated carbon details here. If you look at the images on Google, there are some that look exactly like that. It's hard to be certain with any product like this though, so the best thing you can actually do would be to dispose of them. What type of bottle was it? A pharmacy bottle? And if so, was it one of the older glass ones?

If there are no markings on it, then we can rule it out as being a U.S. manufactured/approved prescription medication, since they are all required to have imprints to enable their identification. The only exception would be something specially ordered and done by a compounding pharmacy, but they don't typically use colored capsules. That means that this is most likely something that's available over the counter. Where did you find it? Some products are regional, so knowing the general location may help to narrow it down.
