I called my doctor and the nurses said they are all the same just different names. it makes me nervous they are switching me and not being constant should i try this new one ? or make sure i get tri nessa back?!!? ## Hello, I've personally been through the same situation you have. I was on Seasonique for years and then the doctor switched me to a generic brand because my insurance would no longer cover "non generic" brands. Since then I had horrible breakouts and started experiencing a lot of anxiety/migraines. Those symptoms didn't occur overn...

So last year I was on yaz and after about 3 months, I started having cramps and gas and always felt like my stomach wasnt settled. My mom thought I was lactose intolerant but when I stopped my pills over summer, my stomach was back to normal. Now I am on yaz again and after 2 months the same thing is happening with my stomach. Has anyone else experienced this with yaz? Should I be worried. I think I am going to ask my doctor to switch. ## Hello, Marz! How are you? Has there been any change? Those can be side effects of oral contraceptives, according to the NIH. You may also experience headache, PMS-like symptoms, and spotting. Speaking to your doctor about switching to a different one is most likely a good idea. With many medications, it is a matter of trial and error to find one that w...

My fiance has Multiple Sclerosis and has been inyecting herself with Betaseron for over a year now, I would like to know if it's possible for her to use birth control pills and if there are any counterindications when combined with the previous drug. Also, besides the obvious barrier methods and of course abstinence, is there any other birth control methods available to us as a couple? I did noticed this condition is suffered mainly by women, so I was surprised when I was not able to quickly find any info on the subject with a quick google search. ## There are no medical professionals on this site and no one, even a doctor, who does not know all the details of her condition or her medication usage could recommend anything. I suggest she speak to her doctor to find out what the best ...

Ive been on Yaz for two years and hae suffered some awful side effects, heres a link that helped me out alot and gave me some great info: "(December 8, 2011) The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will ask outside experts on Thursday about Yaz and several other birth control pills that contain a man-made hormone called drospirenone, which was heavily marketed as carrying fewer side effects than the earlier drugs. But over the last two years, several large, independent studies suggest the rate of blood clots with drugs with the hormone is slightly higher than with other drugs. Most recent analysis by the FDA looked at medical records of 800,000 US women and found that the risk of a blood clot with drospirenone-containing pills was higher than other hormone-based contraceptives. The o...

Hi, i am 26 years old. i don't know remember when was the last time i had normal(regular periods). I can skip like 3-5 months without getting my period sometimes. I'm now using oralcon pills, what happens is that i always get my period way before i finish first 21 pills. This is confusing there is just nothing normal about my menstrual cycle. Please help. ## That can be a normal side effect of this medication, there is never any guarantee that it will help normalize your periods, according to NIH reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and mood swings. Have you consulted your medical provider? You may need to try a different hormonal contraceptive. ## I only talked to nurses who also seem confused, I will need to consult a Doctor.. Any suggestion on which t...

Since i started taking this drug, i feel very bloated. Is weight gain a side effect? ## Common side effects while taking Tri-Previfem are bloating, changes in weight, and many more. So I have been on sprintic for a year I stoped taking them to have another baby after I had him I started taking it again well its been a full year 6 hours after I take the last blue pill when I was in the bathroom a white clump of stringy stuff come out and I noticed some light bleeding what could this be? ## It is very hard to fathom a guess from just the limited information in your post. However, both breakthrough bleeding and discharge can be normal when you're taking hormonal contraceptives and when you aren't taking them. Have you consulted your doctor? That would be the best thing to do, so they can help you determine if there is a problem.

I was prescribed sprinted on October 7 of this year , I took the first pill on the 8. However I stopped taking them 4 days ago because of the side effects. I started some spotting today. Now feeling like I'm ready to menstruate, but nothing is coming out. Can this happen? ## Yes, that can happen. Oral contraceptives use hormones to prevent ovulation, so you can't get pregnant. Thus, you added these hormones, for awhile, then suddenly took them away, so your body is needing to readjust. You may also still experience irregular bleeding for awhile, headache and PMS like symptoms. If it continues, you should speak to your doctor about the issue. Is there anything else I can help with?

When I was on the last 3 ferrous tablets i had my menstruation for 2 days but when on the last tablet i was intimate with my partner.. I just wanna know if there's a possibility that i will get pregnant bcoz of that? Pls reply. ## Hello, Lyka! How are you? As long as you've not missed taking any of the active tablets, you should still be protected, including those days. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am 26 years old and I've never taken birth control. My husband and I have always used condoms. I was prescribed this birthcontrol but am worried due to the lack of reviews. I am hoping someone has had some sort of experience they can share. I'm hoping this brand of birth control doesn't cause too many problems and scare me away from birth control all together. Any info/experience would be greatly appreciated! #supportyourlocalgirlclub ## I wouldn't recommend this birth control. I was on the former version of Minastrin for years but was just forced to switch to Mibelas since it is cheaper for my insurance. The switch was terrible. I'm having symptoms I never had before like depression and acne. I'd stay away. ## According to FDA reports, oral contraceptives can ...

I have been taking Sprintec for about 5 years and I have never had this happen until now. On the second Monday of my pack, I completely forgot to take my pill, I discovered this on that Tuesday when I already found out that I was late for Tuesday too. So I took both pills for Monday and Tuesday, both were late. On an unwise decision, I had intercourse on Wednesday afternoon, and on Thursday morning I saw blood on my underwear. I immediately panicked thinking it was "spotting" that occurs when one is pregnant. I tried calling my OB's office asking about what I should do and if I should take a pregnancy test and the nurse said that it was too soon to be able to tell if I were. So I continued to take my pills normally in the mean time. A week of waiting on "spotting" ou...

I need to skip my period this week, and I'm on a triphasic pill: So far I've been told to A) Continue to the next pack and just skip the placebos or B) Continue to the next pack, but take them backwards. What's the best option to minimize breakthrough bleeding and minimize f***ing with my system? I'm under 35, I do not smoke, I'm in good health, and do not have any other risk factors for blood clots. I've never done this before, but I've been on birth control for several years. Advice would be greatly appreciated!! ## Hello, Depending on who or where you received your initial advice from as far as what you've been told to do, it seems like a gynecologist who specializes in the health of the female reproductive systems would probably know best. Their exper...

I'm 19 years old, 5'7 and 95 pounds, due to an overactive metabolism that was inherited from both parents. My thyroid is normal, as is every other blood test that I've had done. No matter what I do, I can't gain weight to save my life, and my highest recorded weight has been 101 pounds. I'd gone to doctors, I'm on birth control, and antidepressants, yet nothing I've ever taken to help or done to try and increase caloric intake has done me any good. The average weight for my height is 120 pounds, and my personal goal is to be 130-140 pounds. I'd like to gain fat, not muscle, so I can actually have a healthy body weight, and not be a skeletal twig. Is there any pill/weight gain supplement that isn't focused on gaining muscle? No matter where I look, eve...

Tri-sprintec pack of birth control pills my daughter just started this month. She got to the 4th row of white pills and stopped taking the pills. I think she thinks they are sugar pills. What is in the 4th row, should she take the 7 days of white ones? She only missed 2. TX! ## Yes, they are essentially sugar pills. She should take them just as a reminder tho; she may remember this time, but over the months/years one could forget... ## That is correct, they are placebo pills that are meant to keep her in the habit of taking them. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, mood changes, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been bleeding for year now. I went to the doctor and he gave me pills to stop the bleeding but it didn't work. Went to the hospital, they gave me Famynor contraceptive. The worked while I was taking them but I stopped after some time, and now bleeding is back again. What should I do? When I went to pharmacists they want a doctor's prescription. Please help me. ## Hello, Thato! If the contraceptive stopped it, why did you stop taking them? You should likely return to the doctor to have things checked out and you may need to take them, again. What is your age? It sounds like you are experiencing a hormonal imbalance. ## Hi, I am on a birth control for 3 months and it hasn't been my day to go to the clinic for another injection. Ok I just recently got on birth control about 4 days ago and I just thought about something. Before I took birth control my period always lasted around 3-4 days. Now that I'm on the pill, there are 7 white pills for your period.... arent the white pills just to keep you on track? like they dont protect you at all right? so do I have to take the white pills all 7 days...like if I end my period early, do I have to keep taking the white pills? Like if I start taking the white pills on sunday, get my period that day, and then it ends...say...thursday, do i just take the white pills still for the rest of that week or do I start taking the next blue pills? ## I am not very familiar with Sprintec, but I have been on Beyaz for years now which is a 24/4 birth control pill (24 active pills ...
