I have been finding little sites all over my body and face for almost 3 years thinking it was stress or poriasis but after getting unbearable night sweats and total loss of taste not to mention other stuff. Finally got a good gastro doc is doing lots of tests on me. No pain at all but these night sweats and total loss of taste and in bed practically 24/7 I finally got dressed to see him. Now I have sores little ones that come and go but one on the base of my scalp you can't see is scary. Any advice about soothing these or stopping the hair loss? He gave me penicillin which in 2 days made me feel a lot better but still have to find out what's causing the internal infection Thanks!

my grandmother have bad bed sores and now these are infected and 1inch 2deep plz suggest some medicine orally and for local use. ## Where are you located? Without this information, I have no way of knowing what products or medications may be available for you to try. Has her doctor recommended anything? You can learn about what causes them, prevention and treatment options here: ## she is living in uae and her age is 70 years with some problem in vetebrae of back so she is on bed. ## Yes, I understand she is in bed, however, they should still be trying to move her around, every few hours, to prevent these from developing. Bedsores from from the pressure constantly being allowed to remain on certain spots, which cuts off the blood flow. If they are infected, she will probably need both o...

My mother was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and that is why she can't walk. Now that she has this bed sore that developed near the back of her spine, I am searching for an ointment to use here in the Philippines that's available OTC. Would it be better to ask for a doctor's prescription before looking for an OTC ointment for bed sores? ## I'm using CALMOSEPTINE ( Zinc Oxide + Calamine) i bought it in Mercury Drug and also in Generic Pharmacy @ 37.00.

Can it be used to treat ulcers or bed sores on or near the butt on adults (near the rectum)? ## This is a topical antibiotic ointment that is used to treat or prevent infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation, flaking, and dryness. It may not due much to treat bed sores and ulcers, so you should follow whatever instructions the doctor has provided. Is there anything else I can help with?

my mother had a bypass which went well, she is now in a care facility due to a severe bed sore due to a hospital stay. they have had her in bed and druged up for 5 months now. we have switched facilities and doctors. the sores are getting better now but she is on the pain patch fentanyl now and seems out of her mind. dilaudid just keeps her knocked out if used to much. we had her off morphine since it was doing the same as this fentanyl. it is so hard getting a doctor that will listen! they seem like they just want to drug people and let them die instead of getting them well. what medicine will work for someone with severe arthritis pain due to no movement. dilaudid has been the only thing we have seen that doesn't make her crazy and help a little with the pain. is there anything el...

I am the care giver for my wife and she has been diagnosed with staff infection, 3 small open sores on her butt. (by a PA filling in for our family doctor). The PA prescribed DOXY- CYCL HYCL 100MG TAB. After reading all the side affects that were listed on the info sheet that came with the prescription and information at this web site I decided not to give her this medicine till we have talked to our Doctor. We think her condition is pressure sores or bed sores. Our Doctor will be back next week (9 days from now). The PA also prescribed a pain pill for the discomfort. Do you think it is best and wait to see our Dr. that we have been seeing for 28 years? ## Hello, Jar! How are you? Pink, thick cream was sold in tube or jar. Used for cuts, burns, diaper rash, etc. Is it still manufactured anywhere? ## Desparately looking for comfortine ointment. Anyone knowing where to purchase please email me. Used mainly for diaper rash or bed sores. Very effective! ## Have not had any luck finding it either. It's too bad when good products are discontinued or suddenly disappear. From what I have gathered this ointment contains Zinc Oxide + Vitamin A + Vitamin D (from Cod Liver Oil) as the effective ingredients. There are other topical Zinc based ointments out there, but none with that exact formulation. Another possibility would be to see if a pharmacist could create a custom compound based on those ingredients. Has anybody else had any luck finding this or a similar product...

I have an illness that caused extreme pain and the inability to walk. At least with pain meds I can get around. I can no longer find any pharmacy to fill my medications. Even the pharmacy that I am a long term client. I can even get it there. Please help. I am not looking forward to bed sores. ## Unfortunately, shortages are experienced almost every year. When it comes to controlled substances, such as Oxycodone, each manufacturer is only allowed to produce a certain amount per year, once they have hit that amount, they must stop manufacturing, unless they request and receive special dispensation to produce more, or until they receive their new allotted amount for the next year. The amount they are each allowed to produce of each controlled substance is based on the prior years producti...

This is a pink liquid in a bottle with the instructions: Swish 2 teaspoonfuls 15 min. before meals and bedtime, then spit. This was prescribed by my radiologist, Dr. Young ( I had cancer surgery and am now undergoing radiation and chemo-therapy.) But what is this medication supposed to do for me? I'll ask Dr. Young, but before I get to see her, does anyone out there know? ## Hi, Paul! Wow! You've been through a lot and aren't done yet, I hope all goes well! :-) These combinations are sometimes given because some radiation and chemotherapy treatments may result in mouth sores that can make it hard for the patient to eat or drink anything and your doctor is trying to prevent that from happening. (I can't actually speak for your doctor, so I could be completely off the mark...

I went to my MD who did not look at my blood pressure, temperature or heart rate; this after I gave the MD my history. I got sick suddenly on Tuesday night, with a high temperature, diarrhea, vomiting and body pain. They did not examine me. I was put on a bed and taken straight to the ER room for vitamins in drip and Buscopan. I was then sent home with a script only to find out it is only tans 3x 500mg one a day, plus Zelitrex tabs which is used to treat and prevent (recurring) infections with the herpes viruses. These include the viruses that cause: Cold sores (herpes simplex) - a burning and/or tingling sensation on or around the lips that develops into painful, fluid-filled blisters with scabs. I am confused as I do not have cold sores and they did not even look at my history. Please...
