I am taking this pill since 2 years for mild high blood pressure and hypertension. Can you cut it in half? New to med. Noon dose still has heart rate in low 50s and will soon be time to take again. Last night was unnerving with low heart rate and breathing. I see cardiologist tomorrow for first time. PCP prescribed. I am asking cardiologist to reduce dose tomorrow but worried about tonight. ## It could be that it is too high of a dose for you, since the FDA lists that as being a known side effect of taking too much. I am 60+. I have been prescribed by a Doctor to have half of Aten 25mg after break-fast. I have been on this medication since 7 years. I am keen to know if it has any side effect. I thank if some one can give me the answer. ## Did you mean to ask about long term effects? Because side effects only last for a short while, as your body adjusts to a medication. I m diabetic and high blood pressure. I take stamlos in morning and aten 25H in night but still my BP is 80/170 , why this difference. Once I took Inditel H for just a day that time my bp was 70/140 , so can i use Inditel H instead of Aten25 H . Diabetic ranges from 250-350. i take insulin 30/70, glucomet and reclimet . For some reason I can only take the 25mg Atenonol from Sandoz, I take it to diminish heart palpitations from MVP, the pharmacy changed the manufacturer to Ateva one time And I began to have palpitations again. I started on this drug about 3 months ago for mild high blood pressure and after about a month and half I noticed I was loosing a lot of my hair when I washed it and then noticed much more in my brush. Then others started noticing hair on my clothes all the time. I've read all I can find about this drug and do not find that to be one of the side effects. 8/17/17 I've been taking 25mg of Atenolol 3xday for Afib, I have it often, have a pacemaker and on pradaxa (blood thinner). Apparently Atenolol is back-ordered all over the country. My cardiologist prescribed Metoprolol, only 25mg 1xday. I'm switching tomorrow and I'm concerned with enough dosage from Metoprolol. I have googled, can't locate equivalent dosage, can you help? ## It is generally better to follow your doctor's instructions as to what dosage you should take. Since these are in the same medication class, the doses are also sometimes the same. The FDA warns that the side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Are these two medications the same? - metoprolol succinate er 25 mg and atenolol 50 mg. I took my prescription @ 3:25 . I went to the to pick up my current prescription I forgot I had already taken it and took another dose. ## Will that affect me a lot or about the same as if I forgot to take it? ## Did you end up having any problems? One of my Doctor prescribed Aten 25mg for Migraine. He asked me to take when ever I feel starting sympems of Migraine. Is there any side effects for this tablet? is there any chance t become addict for this tab? ## I have high blood pressure and have been treated for it for the last 3 years with 50mg of atenolol and .02mg clonodine patch. My doctor just discontinued the clonidine and added 5mg of amlodipine with the 50mg of atenolol. This works great until about 7 or 8 pm and my pressure starts climbing.
