Are Vicodin And Hydrocodone The Same Thing

My wife is taking Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen SOL APAP at 2 tsps every 4 hours. Is Vicodin 5/500 the equivalent to this and can she take the Vicodin instead? She just had the Gastric Bypass almost a week ago. ## Vicodin does contain the same active ingredients (Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen), so it all depends on what dosage she is currently taking. Another thing to consider is that there may be a reason why she was prescribed this medication in a syrup form instead of a tablet, especially that she had surgery related to the digistive system. I am currently prescribed Lamictal for bi-polar disorder. I am getting my wisdom teeth out quite soon and as told by doctor, will probably be given vicodin for the pain. Does anyone know if there is any serious reactions being on both things? ## i am prescribed both daily and have no problems at all,,,,,,,,,, ## I would not take them together (ie., at the same time). I would try to put a two or three hour spread between them. Also split Lamictal dose if your pdoc says it is alright- take 1/2 your daily dose in the AM and 1/2 in the PM. The hydrocodone may not have the full pain management effect depending on your lamictal dosage. If in doubt, always ask your PHARMACIST. They can look up drug interactions and recommendations easily.

I think you get where I'm going with this, the color is totally up to the whit and whim of the manufacturer. What are the markings on them? What is the difference between Hydocodone 7.5 325 and Norco? I understand Norco has a lesser strength. Both are generic for Vicodin so why would a doctor change it from Hydrocodone to Norco if its exactly the same thing? I get a different result from Norco but not Hydrocodone. Why is that? I also ordered the yellow 10 mg hydrocodones from Pakistan. and the first thing I noticed is they made me tired. I laid down after work, before fixing dinner and didn't wake up for two hours. I got a liquid form of 7.5/325 of vicodin. I usually take a pill with that same amount. Is it the exact same dosage in liquid form? ## Each 5 mil (teaspoon) has Hydrocodone 7.5 mg & Acetaminophen 325 mg. I believe that a dear friend of mine is possibly addicted to Vicodin. Probably it is really hard for her to just come off it, but maybe by switching to another med or weening off is the thing to do. I notice that Lorcet also has Hydrocodone in it, but maybe it is not as addicting as Vicodin? Do you think that maybe by starting on this drug instead she can start to come down off the habit? I ave been recenetly told that I have p.a.d. I hvae had stents put into my upper left thigh, but my calf and toes are in constant pain. is there any thing short of surgery.
