I been taking it for about 6 weeks now every day. I cut back on smoking to less than a pk a day but still not kicking it, stress triggers urges to smoke. Lately I have doubled the dose and it seems to help, but I'm cautious doing so because I get a little nausea after. I wonder if its best to take it mostly when I'm awake? Its actually worked better for me to stop drinking instead of smoking, strangely, I bought a case of Coors light and I drank 1 and they been sitting on the floor not in the fridge almost 2 months. What can I do to help the drug work? Can I think anti smoking thoughts or read anti smoking material to help effectiveness? ## I tried chantix a few years ago and couldn't stay on it when I got to the blue pills. The nausea was too much. So, when I tried it again...

Good morning, My 81 year old mother-in-law had hip replacement the day after Christmas. Her doctor changed her heart med to Eliquis in the hospital. Since then she has experienced nausea nearly every day, some days worse than others depending on how much she eats..which on some days is not much because of the nausea! Also, after 8 weeks in rehab she was sent to the ER for AFib, now my father-in-law is petrified that every time she feels sick she has A-Fib. So frustrating..they are living in the ER. Have felt that it was the Eliquis since they changed it, since she had no history of nausea before the drug change. Have made my feelings known to the nurses, but they say every heart drug could cause nausea. ## Eliquis is not a heart medication, it is an anticoagulant that is used to help pr...

I have been prescribed purbac for an abscess in the root of my tooth, Two x 960mg DS twice a day. I started the course last night and took this morning and am now very nauseous! Is it the purbac? ## Hello, Val! How are you? Yes, this antibiotic can cause nausea as a side effect. My mother was taking pills for morning sickness in 1964. They were small, pink on one side, and light blue on the other. We don't have any to examine, so I have no information on any identifying numerals or letters that might have been present. My sister's doctor indicated that this might be related to my sister's infertility. Can anyone identify this medication (and, more importantly, indicate any problems they might have caused an infant)? Thanks!! Bill ## This is very little information to go on. Her doctor may be thinking of the medication Thalidomide, which was used for nausea in pregnant women and found to cause severe birth defects, however, it was pulled from the market in 1961, so there is no way your mother could have been using it in 1964. I have been prescribed Pantium 40 (twice daily for 5 days) along with Phexin to treat some skin infection. I am presently in 14 weeks of pregnancy. My question is that is it safe during pregnancy? Possible side effects if any? ## Pantium 40 will not treat a skin infection, it contains Pantoprazole, this is a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach. I have been on Xarelto since March of 2014 for bi lateral PEs. After a month or so, I had terrible joint pain for about 1.5 months, and then it seemed to have subsided. For the past 3 months or so, I get dizzy, nauseaus and my quadriceps seem to be achy. I have been tested for all types of auto immune diseases and all are negative. I just feel pretty cruddy everyday. I am a 44 year old male and have a blood clotting disorder and likely to be on anti coagulants for my lifetime. All I do is seem to suffer and my doctor states it's not Xarelto casuing any of this... Does anyone have similar issues? Six days ago I had hip replacement surgery. I was given three bags of antibiotics by IV. How long does it remain in my body before being excreted? ## Hello, Joan! How are you? I hope you're doing well after your surgery and recovering. It depends on which antibiotic you received. Do you happen to know? Please note that large bags of liquid would not be an antibiotic, that would be a separate small bag. I am about three and a half weeks after surgery and continue to have nausea! Cannot eat because of this which has caused a 14 lb weight loss. Please does anyone why this is happening to me ## Hello, Booie! How are you? I'm sorry about the nausea. Have you been taking any medications, such as a narcotic for pain or an antibiotic? Both could cause nausea and vomiting as side effects, as listed by the FDA. If not, then you should consult your doctor to get to the root of the problem.

What would help nausea from amox/k clav 875? The mild nausea turned up on the second day of taking it. The pill looks to me as though it was designed for a clydesdale horse. I can deal with that, but the nausea's adding insult to injury, in my book. Thanks so much. ## Hey Geogria, For a simple, cheap, and effective option I'd highly recommend trying peppermint essential oil to help with the nausea you've been experiencing. I'm not sure how severe it is, but I've used peppermint oil in the past for a similar situation and got instant relief by putting a couple drops around my neck and/or forehead throughout the day. If all else fails, I would still encourage you to contact your doctor about this issue to see if you need to switch over to another antibiotic in the mean...
