I want to know if the combination of acebrophylline and guaifenesin have a synergistic effect in the treatment of a productive cough? ## It is possible, and you should take them if a medical provider has instructed you to do so. But overall, it really depends on what is causing the cough. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and dry mouth. Have they helped you, at all? kindly suggest for the usage of acebrophylline in children and any recommendation in any reputed guidelines i.e is it approved by fda and if it so please provide sufficient data. ## can acebrophyllin given to children and if then what is the dose. ## This is not approved by the U.S. FDA and is not used here in the U.S. It is a mucolytic agent and the normal dose for children depends on their age, for children up to 2 years, it's half a teaspoon, twice daily. Age 2 to 5 is half a teaspoon, three times a day and if over 5, its a teaspoon 2 to 3 times a day. Are there any other comments or questions? ## thnx for feedback !!

FOR CHILD ## Ascovent contains the active ingredient Acebrophylline, which is actually made up of two other agents, Theophylline and Ambroxol, it is used as a mucoregulator, when someone has trouble breathing and an anti-inflammatory to reduce airway inflammation. There is syrup form made for children. Since this isn't used in the U.S., i really don't have much other information on it. Why was it given to your child?
