i have stopped taking propranolol 80mg 3days ago and would like to know if there is any side effects coming off them ## I had problems just stopping cold turky after one doctor told me it would be ok, i felt panicky and anxious. Another doctor said to reduce the dose slowly over time or i will get withdrawal syptoms, One day on, one day off (2 weeks)then one day on two days off (2 weeks) so on, i still had problems and had to do it over the space of months. I am now down to one morning dose a day and ready to stop completely (after 6 months) and am feeling ok ## Any drug or substance that you take into your body for a prolonged period of time will cause some mild withdrawal symptoms if you abruptly stop using it, even if they don't consider it addictive. Pur Bloka

Can Pur-Bloka or it's generic be bought over the counter? What alternatives are there to Pur-Bloka? I'm using it once a day for mild nervousness. ## Pur-Bloka contains the active ingredient Propranolol, it is a beta blocker, which is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac related conditions. Thus, I am not sure how it is supposed to help with nervousness of any type. In the U.S. and other countries that regulate their medications, it is only available by prescription. I don't know where you are located, so I have no way of knowing if the same is true for you, or not. Can you post back with your location? Learn more: ## In South Africa it is used to treat Anxiety, you do need a perscription. I have Bi-polar type 2. I get very nervous in front of people an...

propranolol and or Inderal Help
13 Replies RSS
Hi I need help. Ive been getting regular and optical migrains since I was 19, I am now 45. About 6 months ago I sadly went to walmarts 60 mg inderal tablets to save as I am struggeling instead of my regular inderal 60 mg capsule LA that I have been taking most my life, but the past few months the optical migrains were happening every few days instead of say once a month or so. I went back to the capsules Oct. 17th almost 2 weeks ago and I am still getting the optical ones every few days. Yes there is a lot of stress in my life but there always has been. I even quit smoking its almost a year. I eat right some times not enough I am 5 7 about 130 and I exercise. My eyes were checked and found to be good. Why is this happening? Is it normal for the capsule to take more time to get back in m...

What Is Pur Bloka Used For
15 Replies RSS
Why is Pur bloka being used in the treatment of migraine and Anachroid cyst? ## Pur-Bloka contains the active ingredient propranolol hydrochloride, in doses of 10 or 40mg tablets. Propranolol Hydrochloride's principal effect is to reduce the response of the heart to stress and exercise and it reduces blood pressure in patients with hypertension. The indications for this drug however, have no apparent relation to Arachnoid cysts or migraine headaches. The only conclusion I can reach is that Propranolol may help with specific symptoms or your body's response to such conditions; possibly allowing your body to relax when either of these conditions could make someone restless with insomnia. Just a thought.. but I hope this helps! Have you discussed this yet with any doctor or physici...

propranolol 10 mg

can i break the tablet in half ## I have been taking 10 mg of propranolol twice a day. My heartrate was around 52-70 and I was feeling like I had no energy most of the time. I have been breaking the tablets in half and I am taking a half a tablet twice a day but at times my heartrate is around 100-110 and I am feeling anxious. Should i be concerned? ## I certainly hope Jen found an answer to her question, or consulted her doctor. As to her heart rate issues, the 52 to 70 really isn't a concern, that's fairly close to normal, the normal resting rate for an adult is 60 to 100, so the 52 isn't severely low and the 70 is right in the proper range. ….some well trained athletes may have a heart rate of only 40 or so, at rest, because they are in top shape and the...

i took propranolol 10 mg for only 1 month because it is the advice of my doctor. i stopped taking for 3 month without the consent of my doctor, and now i feel dizzy, head ache, chesh pain and difficult to breath, ## Why did you doctor prescribe it? This medication is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions, so it should not be stopped without your doctor's approval. Such conditions could be fatal, if left uncontrolled. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Have you checked your blood pressure recently? If so, what are the numbers? Why did you stop taking the medication?
