Zolpidem Warning

I took my 10mg Zolpidem Tartrate tab before bedtime at Wednesday 9:39pm and woke up in jail the Thursday after 5pm with no recollection of what happened. I didn't even have a dream-state recollection. I am so confused because I have been taking the medication for over 2 months now with no prior problems. When I used to drink I would have blackouts, but at least I could recall some of the events, this is the first time I have ever experienced this kind of blackout. I have been sober for 6 months and do not abuse my prescriptions. Why did this happen? Was it the drug? Could I have a possible medical problem?

What were you in jail for?

Zolpidem has been known to cause some people to do odd things in their sleep, such as drive, eat, have sex and etc. However, it is very unusual for such things to occur after you've been on it for several months. These types of issues occur most often, when someone is new to taking the medication, or suddenly ups their dosage.

What other medications are you taking? Has anything new been added recently, or any dosages changed?

I take Tramadol 50mg, but only during my menstration. I quit taking Zolpidem and get about 4hrs of sleep a night. At least I think, I will not have another incedent. I am going to look into natural sleep remedies. I am a student at the GBC and can't afford to be drousey when I am trying to learn.
