Thyroid Rash

I have been taking tyhroxine for 20 years , my gp made and error and lowere my tyhroxine to 125mg from 250mg . in between this time I started appearing a rash . I went for a blood test and my level was underactive so I went back on 250g. Ilater I went for another blood test and it was borderline overactive I reduced it again to 200 mg and now I have a full blown rash burning itching blotchy.i had a skin biopsy which came back inflamed but there not sure of the cause one possibility is a drug reaction ,,, I cant see it being tyhroxine if I have been on this drug for 20 yers with no problem

Hello, Sandysan! Sorry about the problem that you're having.

But actually, yes it could be the medication. Regardless of how long you've been taking something, our bodies change with time/age, so there is always a possibility of suddenly developing an allergy or reaction to something that you've had no problem with, before.
