Sulfamethoxazole And Trimethoprim Tablets, Usp 800mg/160mg Double Strength (Page 3)

I am giving 15 tablets twice a day to my horse. Could you tell me what this takes care of? Is it for pain or an antibiotic? I want to know what it is for - please and thank you.

Not sure if this reply will help anyone, but an 1100 lb horse should receive 12 tablets twice a day.

Hello. I stopped taking sulfamethoxazole / trimethoprim for 2 days and now I have a rash all over my body. Can I take benadryl? Will that take it away? Is the rash contagious?

I've been taking a 7-day script of Sulfamethoxazole for 5 days now and my UTI symptoms are the same if not worse. Should I contact the Dr. and see about a different medicine?

1 double strength pill per 100lbs I would give an 1100lb horse 12 pills 2x per day for at least 10 days.

I have a G tube for feeding through my stomach. It contains milk. Is it alright to take sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim with this food?

I was given sulfamethoxazole yesterday for a UTI. I took one pill yesterday and thought I was drinking enough water but around 3.5-4 hours after I took it my mouth became super dry. I thought I was having an allergic reaction and took some Benadryl and called the pharmacist and she said to skip a pill and try again today but I'm still feeling really dry and I've already drunk 1.5 bottles of water within an hour. How much water should I drink while on sulfamethoxazole?

My brother is 58 yrs old. He has fallen 3 times yesterday and today he fell backwards. He has a bacterial skin infection on his face. Could sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim 800-160mg tb be causing this? He has taken about half of the prescription.

Can I take sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim 800/160mg along with a steroid? I have a spider bite on my upper thigh with the spot turning black and causing lots of pain. The Dr. said there is an infection.

Has anyone experienced back and hip pain with groin pain occasionally while taking Sulfamethoxazole-Trimethoprim? I also have horrible headaches and am having a hard time sleeping at night.

I was prescribed Sulfamethoxazole -TMP DS for UTI. I feel a bit intimidated to take with all its side effects plus the fact that years ago I had two bad side effect experiences with other antibiotics. I would appreciate anyone that has taken this antibiotic can give me any feedback of their experience and outcome. Thanks!

Put tablets in a cup add enough water to cover tablets , they dissolve then add and mix in feed and it will eat it all.

Not in feed, but if you put it in a tiny bit of water, the pills dissolve quickly. I administer it orally through a syringe. Very easy to do.
