Prolia Success
UpdatedI have just had the Prolia injection. So far no side affects that I am aware of. Is there anyone who has continued with Prolia (Denosumab) and had positive results after three years? thanks

There are many people that have experienced good results from Prolia. What you have to remember though, is that most of them have no reason to go hunting up a site like this to find more information on it. The people that usually post on sites like this one are those that have had a problem and are looking for help, or support.
Typical side effects of this medication, according to the FDA, may include administration site reactions, muscle/bone pain, cough, swollen joints, and loose teeth.
Can anyone that's done well on Prolia chime in with their experience?
I just completed 2 shots (one full year) and had significant improvement. Very few side effects. I was on reclaspt for two years and that was horrible. Now I want to know how long can I take prolia since I have been on drug therapy for 6 years now. I know I have to take a holiday but when, can't seem to get a answer.
I HAVE TAKEN RECLAST FOR TWO YEARS WITH HORRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS AND DID NOTHING FOR MY BONES. NOW I AM ON PROLIA FOR ONE YEAR AND HAD SIGNIFICANT BONE GROWTH. I AM GETTING READY TO DO MY THIRD SHOT AND LIKE YOU NOT SURE HOW LONG AND HOW SAFE IT IS TO STAY ON PROLIA.
Re: Sue (# 3)
I'm on the fence about taking Reclast after having no poblems with prolia in the past. I may cancel infusion and stick with prolia
Re: Sue (# 3)
I had two injections of Prolia over the course of 8 months. After the first shot I developed a tumor made of bone over my right eye...in and around the eye socket. After the second shot the tumor grew. I have been to Mayo Clinic etc. No one could give me a definitive answer. Now my rheumy tells me she is taking part in an investigation of Prolia as there have been a number of victims who have developed wild boney growths in their lower jaw (under their tongues.) I cannot qualify for this investigation as my boney growth is over my eye. Most of these meds (I have been on 4 over the years) deposit bone where they jolly well feel like. They cause boney tumors throughout the body. It is my understanding that the rheumy researchers are seeking to have Prolia taken from the market. This is Dec.2018. Let's see what happens. Thank you to the killer pharmaceutical companies. Make those big bucks, guys!
Please be sure to get your injection every 6 months or as prescribed. If you miss a dose or stop altogether, without an alternative treatment, you risk the 'rebound' fractures. I have had 3 vertebral compression fractures. What is disturbing to me is that I don't think my doctor knew or told me about this possibility. I have been on Prolia for a few years.
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Please I would really like to know who has done well, as everyone I have run into off this site all have had adverse events. Some just worse than others and not always after the first injection. Some it was after 3, 6 or more, and I can tell you they are worse off than without the injection. So if you think you have been spared keep an eye out for side effects and hope they are mild.
