MiraLax is a laxative agent and really shouldn't be used for long of a time period, unless your doctor has recommend such and is monitoring your condition.

Common side effects can include: nausea, gas and diarrhea.

I am 88 years of age and have had no problems with my
bowels. I started taking Pristiq (not on it now) and ever since I have been constipated. I am trying mirolax (2nd day) and no results. Suppositories work fine--but I understand they shouldn't be used daily. Once I can get started to have a movement, it is normal. Just getting started is the problem. Have you an answer?
