Just Wondering!!!

This past August I began suboxone treatments. Unfortantly I havent been taking them faithfully as prescribed. Ive been taking my drug of choice which is an opiate and the Suboxone just lay in the bottle at the bottom of my purse. With all that being said, I am currently looking for employment and am worried about having to take a drug test. I dont use anything but the opiate. My question is, if I take a drug test and it shows opiates in my system, can i show them my suboxone prescription and be ok?? Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Suboxone IS an opiate, not sure where you got that information, but it is incorrect! Suboxone also contains an opiate agonist that counteracts the effects of other narcotics.

If you have been taking other drugs, rather than the Suboxone, then YES, your tests WILL give it away. Not only do they test for the presence of opiates, but the tests will also show them the amounts in your system and they know exactly what the levels should be in comparison to the dosage you are supposed to be taking.

I am going to have military drug test today. I have bn on suboxone for almost 1 yr. Havent had any in 48 hrs. Will it show up in drug test?

Absolutely. I am on a few narcs and an opiod. as long as i could support my rx, my test was fine.

You dont have to be clean on your test if your drugs in your system are truly YOUR drugs and you can support it with your rx from the doc.

I CAN ONLY TELL YOU FROM WHAT HAPPEN WHEN I APPLIED FOR A JOB & IT WAS IN A MEDICAL COMPLEX- THEY HAD TESTED ME THAT DAY. THEY HAD ME LIST ALL MEDS EVEN OVER THE COUNTER MEDS. THEY SAID TO BRING ALL PRESCRIPTION MEDS WITH ME IF I GOT THE JOB, I DID GET IT & FOUND OUT MED LIKE WHAT YOU TAKE DO SHOW UP. JUST BE HONEST & ALL WILL BE WELL. GOOD LUCK JOBS ARE HARD TO FIND, THE ECONOMY SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. GOD BLESS ALL.

So if i understand correctly you are going for a job and they want you to take a drug test. and you are going to try get the job by lying and if they somehow do employ you how long is it going to take before they see that you are obviously still using.

Suboxone does not show up as an opiate like percs, vics, oxy, heroin, morphine, fetynol, diludid, etc. in a drug test, thats why a lot of doctors test you for drugs when your on suboxone, to see if you have been using other opiates THAT GET YOU HIGH. you will be fine, and you have prescription for so...

Here is a piece of advice. Get off the damn pain pills and then find a job. You have a miracle drug with the Soboxone. And you should take full advantage of it! Trust me, It worked for me!

Suboxone will show up separately from other opiates.. If you use something like oxycodone you will not be able to explain it away with an Rx for suboxone.

Well I was addicted to oxys for about 8 months... Its was taking over my life, I spent every drop of money I had on the stuff for me and my boyfriend. It killed me every day cuz we have a child together and it was sad that we couldn't stop to be there for her... So I got suboxone the first day I took a whole one the next day I took a half and the next day I took a quarter and I did that for about 10 days doing justa quarter sub per day and then the 11th day I did nothing now I'm on my third day and I feel fine.. I think once u get through the first few days u know the cravings and all its really a mental battle but I wanted to stop more then n e thing to be a good parent and that's what I'm tryin to do now and its workin for my boyfriend too . So in my opinion if we can do it so can u... U have to want it bad enough. Its a tough battle but we were here for eachother with support and reason to stop which was my daughter u can be cured suboxone is a life saver to those who want it bad enough. I understand every addict is different I may have been lucky because I nipped it in the butt before it got completely out of controll I mean it was bad but not like some storys I hear. It would have been way worse if I could have afforded it. But I feel better , normal how I did befor I ever touched an oxy!! I hope this story helped some one cause I know my reading everyone elses storys really helped me! Good luck
