Hydrocodone 2172 (Top voted first)

Updated

Hey, i got these pills today from walgreens and i have taken 3 so far and still no affect on my pain. Has anyone else had this same problem because idk of they took most of the hydro out of these new pills but there's definitely something wrong. I will not be getting these from my Dr again.

I also just got the 2172 Actavis hydrocodone from Walgreen's just a few days ago instead of the Watson 3202( been on for 2 years) and I am in so much pain. I feel like I am in withdrawal since switching. I called the pharmacy and told them how I'm feeling and she said it is the exact same medicine from the same place and they just took the little orange specks out. Yeah Right! Then why can't I get out of bed today? Sure wasn't a problem with the Watson brand. I am so upset about this.

I also recently had this change from Walgreens....they are horrible. I have serious back pain which I am scheduled for surgery next week ~ these pills don't even come close to touching my pain. I never had a problem with the Watson with the pink dots. These pills feel like I haven't taken anything. I even doubled up with my doc's permission after I told him that something seemed wrong with these and I still felt like it was only 75% of normal. They also wear out faster. I've been on a 6 hour regimen for years, but these seem to wear off in 3. It's a relief to see that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. I thought I was going out of my mind ~ or that the pain is just that much worse. Thank you everyone for posting!

I also just got these today and they are not releiving my pain. I'm calling Walgreens now to speak to a Pharmacist. ACTAVIS is the Mfg. This is what the Local stores are being shipped.

Glad I found this forum!!! These new pills suck! I am taking double and still not nearly as much relief! Going to call my doctor. Is it only Walgreens? Or do other pharmacies carry the polka dotted ones still?

I have just had the same problem with Walgreens over this pill. I questioned them why I was switched from the flecked Hydrocodone. They lied and said its the same pill, that the flecks were removed two weeks ago. I checked this out wih CVS and was told the flecked pills are still made. This substitute for the flecked pill is useless. It's like taking nothing. Walgreens will not get my next refill.

The 5/325 are worthless, have your doctor prescribe the A333 10/325. I have taken three per day (every 8 hours) for the past twelve years because of a failed Lammy. They at times don't get rid of all the pain but its bearable.

That's quite a bummer as Actavis products have been under a lot of heat over the past few years... Ever since Watson's name left the picture there have been countless complaints about a lack of quality and no pain relief. Not a coincidence at all in my opinion.

Here is the list of inactive ingredients that are supposed to help make up the composition of these pills:

microcrystalline cellulose + croscarmellose sodium + magnesium stearate. [Meets USP Dissolution Test 1].

With so few inert ingredients compared to other meds, my guess is that because it's a generic version, rumors may be true about them containing less active ingredients as well.

If anyone is able to, maybe a thorough lab analysis would prove such theories...

Awful, completely ineffective for relieving my chronic pain. Has anyone followed up with their pharmacist or Doctor? The Watson 3202's were great, now I doubt these 2172's have ANY effective ingredients. I'm so confused!

I told my doctor these are not working at all for my chronic pain. I know they are supposed to be the same ingredients but are not. It just does not take the pain away at all. I took my prescription to Walgreens and talked to the pharmacist and he said the same thing, that it is the same pill, they just took out the pink specs and shaped it differently. It is not the same because it does not work. I guess I will just have to check other pharmacies out and leave Walgreens. It's so frustrating.

I too have been on the Watson 5-325 with red speckles for years. But apparently now Actavis merged with Watson or some rubbish like that. All I know is it wasn't effective for me either and caused me to get headaches! My lower back has been feeling more horrible too. >:(
Guess they rather poison their customers and make them more sick so we will have to get on more meds. Seems legit to me! I called my Walgreens and spoke to the very helpful pharmacy manager and she suggested Vicodin Brand name 5-300mg. It is by ABBVIE. My insurance covered it as well. A lot of insurance companies do cover this brand name Vicodin so maybe you all should see if your insurance will. I also submitted a report to MedWatch, the FDA Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program. I would advise everyone to do the same!

I called all the local pharmacies and no one carries the Watson 3202 Vicodin anymore. I don't know why. I told my doctor and he prescribed me Percocet instead. Definitely helps like the old vicodin used to.

I do not take pain meds routinely. When it gets to the point where i take the meds, i am in pain! (Kidney stones.) I took the new white pill yesterday – no improvement. A couple of hours later, i took the new pill again – no change. I happened to have a few of the old speckled pills on hand and figured it couldn't make things worse. I had some pain relief within 15 minutes and significant relief within an hour. I plan to return the white ones to the pharmacy to let them know how ineffective they are (not for a refund, simply to make a statement).

I've been taking 5/325 (previously 5/500's) continuously since 2008 and these new 2172's are giving me severe tinnitus. Has anyone else experienced this? I have only experienced tinnitus a few times in my life but now it's almost continuos. Maybe it's meant to be a distraction from the lack of actual pain relief :)

Stay away from the "big box" stores for your medication! They get the "bottom of the barrel" (so to speak). I know this from a group that meets every week to discuss the problem we "Chronic Pain Patients" face. Hope this helps. Find a local Mom & Pop store.

everyone needs to call walgreens & complain about this crappy pill so they change back, I take a lot of allergic reactions to pills & they changed my med to this junk & I was afraid to take it but they told me they changed tinnitus, I tried 1/2 a pill & had to take Benadryl because it made me itch, never got itchy before they changed it, they won't even return my calls, I stopped getting my meds from them now

you can try putting a complaint in with the FDA on the pills that they do not work

I filed a complaint with the FDA. Hopefully everyone who's posting on here will follow suit.

I went on line to check why after taking the Meds I have not had any pain relief. I was shocked to see all these post and it's the same Meds I'm taking. What's going on here, is this legal. I have sciatica and also recovering from knee surgery and I
M in terrible pain since I picked up my Meds and not working. Now what?Who feels like this when you're not well to begin with. I also use Walgreens but this might be my last time if they are dispersing poor quality Meds.
