Hello, Jo! How are you?
Yes, the FDA and DEA changed this to a schedule 2 drug this past October, so general practice physicians will no longer prescribe it.
If you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist.
Is there a chance your current doctor could refer you to someone?
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
