Difference Between The Types Of "percocet 30mg"? (Top voted first)

Updated

What is the difference between the Percocet M's and V's and the K9's? I know Percocets dont come in 30mg even though everyone refers to them as that. I am just curious as to the difference between them or is it just the companies that make them put differnt markings on them?

Officially, there is no difference between them. The different markings are different drug manufacturers...M for Merck and so on. Anybody in the medical community or at your local pharmacy will tell you they are identical. As somebody who has been prescribed them long term after a motorcycle accident I will tell you that I do not believe this to be the case. As far as the amount of pain relief I receive from them(or lack thereof) there is no difference between the brands. As far as the side effects, or rather the high as you young kids would call it, there seems to be a noticeable difference. I suspect that you already noticed that yourself and we're looking here for confirmation. It may be all in my head, but yes, I have perceived a difference between them. Now mind you, I'm 71 years old and until my motorcycle accident facilitated the use of the oxycodone, I had not touched a drug since the early seventies when my first wife died from a heroin overdose. Aspirin and Tylenol were about the only things I would take. I see the "high" as a negative aspect of these. It fuddles my mind and makes me nervous to drive anywhere. Therefore, I request the brand where I perceive the least amount of these side effects. That would be the ones with the little V on them. I did not at all care for the ones with the M and especially disliked the "dog pills" as I call them because of the K9 marking. They both made me feel very jittery...especially the K9 ones. If my pharmacy is out of the ones with the V, I will also take the ones marked A215 as they don't seem to make me as loopy as some of the others. If they don't have either of those I will actually wait to fill my prescription until they restock. My pharmacist thinks I'm cuckoo and has told me as much in not so many words. Whether it is in my head or not, it still feels real to me so I'll stick with my formula as it has served me well so far. I hope that answers your question. I suspect your motivations may not be to look for less of a high like I am but to each his own. I'm not your papa and I'm not here to give you a lecture. Ride to live. Live to ride.

I am so sick of people judging the pills. Personally i don't like but on the flip side until GOD deliver me from this pain ruthless overwheming make you feel like your about to snap or jump out of a window!!!No I'm not crazy I'm just aperson that deals 28th pain that is unspeakable let some or these DOCTORS or whomever get something that make them SCREAM to the top pain is no joke it need to be taking more seriously and know when to draw the line...Well is this person DEPENDENT or have an addiction start seaparting the two because there is a diffrence! I PRAY and lay hands on my on body but until that time comes when GOD lift that heavy hard ruthless burden I wouldn't care what anyone think and the systems know just what their doing. Give you this med. That's working and has been for so many years so leave me alone because somebody one-day will get hurt and who's fault is it then. If they don't hurt themselves they will hurt someone else. POOR JACKED UP SYSTEM. HELP PEOPLE, DON'T TRY TO DESTROY THEM. UNLESS THAT WAS THE PLAN FROM THE BEGINING!

Yes, Percocet contains both Acetaminophen and Oxycodone and they are only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Oxycodone.

The ones you are referring to just contain Oxycodone, in a regular release formulation, so they would be a generic for Roxicodone and you are also correct on what the difference is, they are just manufactured by different companies.

Are there any other questions or comments?

Ur right v cutts always are the cleanest less side effect most euphoric no nod. K9 is my second but i understand the jittery uppity feeling then u crash after. V cutts can last about 3 hours where all others are 1 hour and even that is dwindled with side effects. People like to abuse m boxes which have less binders in them. I do not like m boxes, they suck and side effects are terrible. You will feel like a junky.

I completely agree with you I took one with a m on it and I found myself in the middle of the street brushing my teeth with ranch dressing and making coffee with sour crout and sausage completely ruined my 100$ coffee maker my kids were witness to my reducioulos behavior they r terrible afraid of me taking any kind of medications now and I can understand why as I pick pieces from my coffee maker with apsoulty no luck trying to get it to work I have chronic back pain and discomfort I became addicted to oxycodone after I started to see a pain management Dr about 5 years ago so I bought what I thought was a perk 30 and got extremely high as a result 5 mg perks do not give me any releave and 30 mg is way way to much I am stuck between a rock and a hard place!!!

I don't care who may judge me. However, I need my Roxicodone to function. My Dr. put me on those things in 2001 & I'm still on them. I have terrible withdrawal without them & hurt like crazy. I take them only as prescribed and never abuse pills of any type. Just sharing my experience with these crazy drugs. Everyone stay safe from any meds you may be taking.

I've taken Opana ER 30 mg 2 x/ day for years for osteomyelitis r/t systemic MRSA. Because of this malady I retired on disability as an RN eight yrs ago. Until very recently my medications weds covered by Tricare but because I no longer have that coverage I've become all too familiar w/ the "donut hole" that occurs approximately three months/ yr & my Opana ER 30 mg bid costs me $308/MO! It doesn't take rocket science to figure out one can't maintain that cost for medications for long periods of time & still afford food, shelter, transportation, etc. I've discussed this issue w/ my MD & he & I are attempting to ascertain a medication comparable to Opana ER 30mg bid that my insurance will cover & that will maintain adequate pain control. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions? How many Percocet & what strength/dosage would be required & is that even a viable alternative? All legitimate input is appreciated.

I have been prescribed to oxycodone 30 MGs for over three years now. I have found that the pills marked with M or K9 are more effective than the pills marked with V and A215. Personally, the V and A215 pills do not last as long and I feel as though they have a weaker potency. However, everybody reacts differently to the same medication I've asked my doctor about this and he said that there is no difference between them and they are just made by different manufacturers. I asked a few pharmacists and they all said that their customers do ask which type are in stock and there is a major preference for the M brand oxycodone
