Cymbalta 60mg Wewaning Off

I had a brain surgery for an aneurysm 4 years ago, non ruptured. I was left with severe depression...........NO antidepressant has worked, started cymbalta, and went from 164lbs-180 in 4 weeks.............I think not. I was at 160 due to abilify, was getting of that...was 151 before that. I consider these meds poison. My face looks swollen. But now I feel GREAT! So it is a choice, my physical health, of mental......maybe I will be ok, don't know. I am doing what a writer above did. I am pouring out half, take for a week, then half from the half, take for a week. .. then take the fourth of a capsule remaining for a week. I am a RN, and it sounds safe, the way we would titrate patients........so here I go............let you know how I do as I go. .

I am 6 weeks - cold turkey - free TODAY of the nasty drug. It has truly been a living hell. I would never advise Anyone to go cold turkey. I was on Cymbalta 60 three years and the 90 two weeks. I was taken off for 5 days. By the third day withdrawals set in. By the fifth day I spoke with my pharmacist. I started researching. Realized for three years I had had ALL the side affects and during the past 6 weeks have had Almost all the withdrawals. Yes it has been a living hell. But thank goodness I believe in God again and I think I am on the road to recovery. I am still taking my Ativan and Valium as needed. Other than my Dad dying and finding out my husband had been having an affair....this was the worse experience in my 57 years.

There are a couple options that you can take, if your doctor approves, that don't usually cause weight gain. One is Wellbutrin and another is Prozac.

The FDA classifies these as antidepressants and their typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and headache.

Prozac has actually caused weight loss in some people that take it.
