Sandie, no, sandoz did not then step in at all. The plastic crap was made because sandoz was bringing a generic to market in australia as the patent for australasia was up ending mundipharmas monopoly. I have put it in my other post. Read it ebfore you spout crap, The only reason you think sandoz was there after is because of why i stated that chemists were not selling it and because obviously your chemist was buying the new OP and handing back the OC because they dont like selling it. OC was still on shelves in australia in mid 2016 dpending where you go. I know because i get OC still sometimes when i can be bothered going to a certain place and the expiry date is even 2018.

If the doc doesn't want you taking sandoz they tick the box to say that you are not allowed generics. They dont take it up with government and crap like this being spouted in victoria. They tick a box. Your doctor can decide if they dont want yuo taking generic because they dont trust you.

I know this is an old post I'm responding to, but I also noticed many differences in the new OxyContin. There is a difference and many people have been made. One day I started feeling sick. I thought I was getting a flu bug that had been going around. I had this weird stomach ache head ache and was sweaty. My back and legs were hurting too. I just thought this will go away in a few days and to take it easy. Well on the 6th night I was SO SICK. afraid sick. I'd not ever felt this before. Also about 9 that night I threw up... again. Only this time I noticed my pain pill in the toilet. It had kind of this strange gelatinous look. Like my stomachs wasn't breaking it down. Again I thought this was because of the flu bug. Finally after 10 days I was sooo ill. I went and saw my doctor. I told him everything I just said here. He said, "well your probably going through with drawls from your medicine". HUH? WHAT?? WHY? I'm taking them. Turns out there are a lot of people that have been made very sick from this new formula. My dr explained they put something in it to make abuse proof. Well I didn't know that. They had looked the same to me. But the. I didn't really LOOK at them. Why would I? After my doctor explained what wax going on, he started me a new medication and said he'd had to change several prescription THAT WEEK! When I got home I took out my new bottle. I had some left of my old and compared them. Same color and size but different markings. My new said OP the old said OC on them. The more I'm reading the more I don't understand how they can approve something that's affecting so many people. Some people don't have enough digestive enzymes to break them down. That's what was making me sweat and feel sick. I wasn't absorbing it. I wouldn't have known had I not thrown up. Yuck. Sorry. Lol. But there's something else going on. My pharmacist said they use a polymer plasticizer in it to make them abuse proof. This ingredient does make some people very sick. Maybe your "friend" is abusing them and that is why they don't work for her. But myself and many others have not. This new formula op really does make a lot of us really sick. Just my 2 cents worth. Take care all.

But I did read the bit where you carried on about me not taking them properly...go screw yourself...you don't know me or what I do. If I wasn't doing the right thing I wouldn't be on this sight...

What's your problem Kimba.? Not that I care though...
All I was saying is how I feel by taking the two different brands and I don't chew don't suck the coating off...because maybe that's what you have done doesn't mean we all have...
Your a weirdo...

Now that I've had the time to read your cut and paste message Kimber and bothered to think about who you are, I think you should apoligies to the people who read these posts..
You have never been on pain medIcation or in pain...how dare you write these comments telling people just wait three hours till they work etc...its obvious you've never been in pain...You've belittled people that struggle to get out of bed in the morning because they hurt so much....
You don't know me anymore but funny enough you still sound like the 12 year old little trouble making thing that I knew and am so glad that is out of my life...you haven't grown up one single bit...
Your Dad would be so embarrassed by your behaviour. ..
Bye Emma...

Kimber, If Sandie is full of it regarding the OC vs OP situation, then how do you explain my problem? I was on OCs for several years..they worked beautifully for my pain, gave me back my quality of life and I was able to return to work again. I was so happy. Then one day, after picking up my prescription, everything went downhill for me. My pain was back..full on..I had weird GI bloating, and felt extremely fatigued. Then, with my next 2 months of prescriptions...everything improved again. You see, I had no clue that the formula had been changed. I found out later that after giving me one month of the OPs, that for the next 2 months, I was back on the OCs, while they finished their stock. Then, in the 4th month, I had a mixture of both OCs and OPs. Some days I felt fine, but other days, I had pain, bloating and fatigue. I called my doctor because I had no clue what was happening. At first, I thought that my condition was getting worse. But, my doctor told me to speak to my pharmacist; he said he thought changes had been made to the formula. And...that was my first inclination that something was different with the OC/OP formula. The pharmacist explained when I was taking OPs vs OCs, and all of my awful days coincided with the OPs. Now...I have never sucked the coating off, broken or done anything to my medication, nor would I ever. I have been on OPs ever since..because somewhere along the line, my doctor became convinced that OPs are exactly the same as OCs, and I have no other choice for my pain. The OPs do little for my pain. I am bloated and fatigued, and I no longer work again...even though I loved my job. I would give anything to feel normal once again, and I know through my own experience, that bringing back the OCs would give me that feeling of being normal again. In the U.S., we have no choice; we have to deal with OP junk that does NOT work. So...if Sandie is an addict and all the other things you said about her...she did get the OC vs OP conflict right. I am living proof of that.

Sandie, Thank you for all of the information that you have taken the time to post here. It is much appreciated by me and others, I'm sure. Every now and then we get a know-it-all, who thinks they can diagnose and fix our problems (most recently Kimber). And..the know-it-alls ALWAYS have to throw in some rude comments about people being addicts, instead of people who are trying to live every day with debilitating pain. Do they really think that drug addicts would come to a site like this? What would be the point? I guess the internet trolls are always looking for new places to spew their nasty venom...and one of them just happened to turn up here...Kimber-Troll. Again...thank you, Sandie... for your much needed and appreciated advice. Sometimes, it is you who gets me through my day, when I don't feel like I'm going to make it.

Hi Janine. ...I'm really sorry that your doctor has it wrong...very wrong, a lot of them do and it has nothing to do with trust like Kimber/Emma said...
I will just fill you in a little. Emma is an upset ex step daughter...she doesn't take pain medication. A lot of the information she supplied was from her father's experience and the rest she read/cut and paste.. She believes doctors know it all but for people in pain that can be far from the truth unless that doctor has had pain himself/herself..I'm guessing it's what they are told by the companies producing this stuff..that plastic coated crap DOES NOT WORK...
Maybe you should find a different doctor to get the help you need...I feel for you. Xo
Ps...I'm sorry that I have, indirectly, bought this childish little person to this page...
Regards to all

There is Oxycontin the old OC formula. It is by Mundipharma and is the official Oxycontin here in Europe.

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Purdue took out the oxytocin that gives you the well-being feeling which is a major ingredient in pain relief. It has made a huge difference and not a good one. Other opiate pain medicine like Norco has done the same. It's the damn street addicts that have caused this so-called opioid epidemic. Not us people under a doctors care. But then its easier to go after us than the addicts on the street. They buy the street drugs and od on them because no one knows whats in those drugs. They are the reason for this crap, not us!!
