Wv Pharmacy That Fills A Pa Subutex Prescription (Page 2)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I went to a doctor in PA that prescribed me subutex. I went to a few pharmacies in the area (Washington, Pa) but they only carried Suboxone. Does anyone know where I can get subutex filled in Washington, Pa or close to there? I live in Morgantown, Wv & would rather get them filled in this area if that's possible. I have a WV ID, but a PA. Subutex prescription.

Speaking of posting misinformation, there is no legal requirement that you fill your prescription in your state of residence. As long as you have a valid, government issued identification you can legally obtain a prescription.

This is the most accurate pharmacy information that I've ever seen in my 11 years of treatment! Shes absolutely right about which ones.. And absolutely right about....they usually won't tell you yes or no to any questions over the phone... You are better off just to plan a road trip! I live in Preston County WV ....Just wanted to thank whoever took the time to help these people out!

Re: MDresidentPAscript (# 46) Expand Referenced Message

Unfortunately the day that I go to the doctor is the same day we get paid so I am unable to switch days.. just wish I could switch docs or my old doc would come back or I could go to her.. I heard of a doc that's in Washington Pa which is actually closer to me called Milestones Wellness Center.. has anyone on here heard of the place and or go there?? We thought about going there instead but would like more info about it.. I've liked A&R for the last 2 years but do not like this new doc at all.. he just seems like its money for him where my other doc actually cared about her patients and treated them like a person.. My pharmacy is awesome tho.. and I understand what they need bc of the new guidelines and they are trying to help us keep our scripts.. I'm glad you found a pharmacy that cares like mine does.. the pharmacy I go to the pharmacist had a son that overdosed so he does whatever he can to help people in recovery... so I am very thankful I have him and if he wasn't an hour away from me I would go to him for my entire families prescriptions..

Re: Wvchic84 (# 45) Expand Referenced Message

I've heard of a lot of people having trouble with the new doctor at A & R lately fortunately I have not had any problems however one time I did see a new doctor that was an older Asian doctor he was very rude and yelled at everyone that came in there screaming DEA DEA! I hope I never see him again but we should probably think about maybe switching the day you go to the doctor you probably have a better chance of getting someone else and possibly they wouldn't have an issue with writing that on your prescription.
as for having trouble at the pharmacy luckily I have found a great Pharmacy that's no questions asked never has any problem filling my script and since they had the peach ones I really didn't like them, so now they specially ordered the specific kind of pill that I want just for me. I consider myself very lucky and and because I'm lucky I'm willing to help anyone that I can.

Re: MDresidentPAscript (# 38) Expand Referenced Message

I just went to my dr appointment at AR solutions in Waynesburg last Wednesday. Well the doctor I have been going to see for almost 2 years just up and left so now we have a new doctor that has stepped in and I can tell you I do not like him at all. The pharmacy I use in Ohio whom I've been going to for almost 2 years told me that I have to have a doctor write on my script that I cant take naloxone which is true.. I can't. It truly does make me sick and I cant function on it because I'm so sick. Well he told me that he would write on my script this time that I can't take naloxone but my next appointment which is Aug. 22nd I have to bring in proof from a doctor that I cant take naloxone... Here's my problem with that. First off I dont have insurance so I pay out of pocket for everything. I do not have a family doctor. I thought about going to another dr but wonder if it'll be the same thing. Any suggestions are much needed and appreciated. I dont want to have to deal with this. It's such crap. Why would they do this to people who are trying to get better and recover from this nasty disease called addiction. It's just crap.. I'm glad I keep to my pharmacy but trying to get this crap sorted is such a headache.

I have my first appointment in 2wks. Sounds like I should call around & find a WV or PA pharmacy to fill my PA script beforehand. I would prefer Subutex but I'm okay with Suboxone, as long as it's the tablets. The sublingual films give me migraines from hell. Anybody? Please send help!

Re: Jaxon5mama (# 12) Expand Referenced Message

I just saw your post. I also live in Bpt Ohio and see a dr in Pa, my pharmacy just notified me that Ohio pharmacies won’t fill subutex scripts unless the patient has HepC, HIV, or pregnant or a naloxone allergy. I’m hearing that suboxone is pretty much the same as subutex and I may have to change to suboxone. I’m afraid to switch because 10 years of addiction has been turned completely around due to gods grace & subutex. Living in fear right now of the unknown.

Re: AmberWV304 (# 20) Expand Referenced Message

Doesn't look like u ever provided that info u spoke of. As much of a hassle it's been to fill, I'd like to find a mail-order option but can't find a pharmacy that deals with any narcotics thru mail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Steubenville (# 34) Expand Referenced Message

That is false. They suggest you meet the criteria but every pharmacy has the option and uses their own discretion. Most of the big chain pharmacies won't fill an out of state script regardless if you meet the criteria or not. Small mom/pop pharmacies usually fill as long as your a local resident.

Re: Wvchic84 (# 36) Expand Referenced Message

I am not really sure what the problem is? Is the pharmacy you've been going to for 2 years refusing to fill your script for Subutex now? If what I heard is true, the mail order thru A+R is only if you get a whole month script and it's $250/mo on top of the cost of your monthly doc appt which is also $250. The only fill using the peach oval Subutex.

If you're being picky and request the white 54/411 Subutex your options for a pharmacy are going to decrease greatly. In my area Walmart is the only pharmacy that carries that kind, however they are very strict with who they fill for and hardly ever fill an out of state script. If you are able to get your script filled at Walmart, they will only give you a 7 day supply at a time.

I use to use my local neighborhood pharmacy. VERY polite, never asked a question about my script. It also helps that they know me, I've used them for the past 10 years for myself and children. When they changed suppliers and started filling using a different Subutex, they even special ordered for me the kind I preferred every month. They were amazing. Since they closed at the end of June, I had to shop around to finally find another pharmacy to fill my script this month. I took 5 days from the date my script was written to get it filled. I almost relapsed from being so sick and my drug of choice being readily available, yet being unable to fill my script that a DR wrote. I hope it gets better, but I doubt it will. I'm worried about getting me script next month, because there is no guarantee any pharmacy will fill it.

Has anyone ever tried to fill a prescription near Waynesburg? That's the only place I've never tried, I always bring my script home and try to fill locally, but maybe I should try to fill near my doctor?

Re: Steubenville (# 34) Expand Referenced Message

I go to A&R Solutions in Waynesburg Pa. Am a Wv resident and for almost 2 years have been getting my script filled in Ohio. I dont have insurance so am paying cash for everything. I am now worried that since my doctor that I have had for almost 2 years has left A&R that whatever doctor fills in for her wont give a script for suboxone. Waynesburg is a 2 hour drive for me and even though I have a spot at my current pharmacy which is another 2 hours away in Ohio (from PA) if the doctor doesn't switch my script from subutex to suboxone even though it makes me sick, like badly sick then I have no idea what to do! I'm not too far from Stuebenville still on the Ohio River just south a ways lol I use the subutex for opioid addiction and pain so this is just a kick in the ass.. any suggestions on the mail in order with someone who has used it and what pill they give would be really helpful If that's my only option. The one subutex pill that I can really take that actually does its job is the 54 411s.. Any advice is much appreciated. My next dr appt is July 25th so hopefully something works out..

Re: MDresidentPAscript (# 33) Expand Referenced Message

I also go to A&R in Waynesburg and now that new guidelines are out am having problems with trying to get a pharmacy to fill.. I just got my last script of subutex today and dont meet the new criteria for getting the subutex.. my next appt is the 25th of this month and I called A&R today to see if the doctor would be able to give me a prescription for suboxone and the woman I talked to didn't give me a straight answer she said I could still get the script but could do the mail in pharmacy. I pay cash and at the pharmacy I've been using for the last 2 years I get 2 weeks which I prefer and can really only afford. At this point I'm freaking out with no one really giving us any answers and they sure in hell didn't give us a forewarning. Really dont want to pay $250 for a script of suboxone. All of this just sucks.. to be honest suboxone makes me sicker than a dog but don't have insurance and cant go see an allergist.. the whole situation is messed up..

Re: AmberWV304 (# 32) Expand Referenced Message

Yes that's because new guidelines just went into effect over the last week or so and from this point forward no pharmacy in the tri state area (Oh / WV / Pa) will fill a prescription for Subutex unless you meet the criteria. Everyone I know who is on this medication is experiencing rhe same problems. Sad that there was no forewarning for patients. But this is the way it is now, we all had better get ready to transition to Suboxone!
