Vistaril Showing Up As Benzo On A Drug Test

I was taking vistaril and failed a drug test for benzo. I was just wondering if it can show up as benzo? I need proof for court and dont know what to do.

Yes, vistaril has some similarities with benzos. Vistaril however is prescribed for itchiness, sleep as well as mild anxiety. Although they are two separate drugs, both benzos and vistaril share a very common chemical structure which may cause a drug test to read vistaril as a benzo.

I took a drug test last week and it was positive for benzo, I got totally freaked out. The lady who did my drug test told me to go to my pharmacy and get my prescription list and told me that visteril does show up as a benzo in drug test. Took a test today and still was positive for benzo. So yes visteril does show up as a benzo, but as long as you are prescribe to it you should be fine.

I had to take a drug test today and I know for sure that I haven't taken any benzos , however I do take vistaril and my drug test showed positive for benzos. So yes vistaril can show up as benzos.

That is just a very rare occurrence. I've bee hearing these claims for years but out of a review of 173 complaints of false positive claims for benzodiazepine class medications as a result of vistaril administration, only 3 were later confirmed by use of a GC/MS. So for those falsely pinning their hopes on a nonsensical theory proffered by previous posts may prove disastrous. Please understand finding in a legal or administrative for cause setting requires formal retest analysis done by professional labs with specified findings measured by technicians skilled in the use of these metabolite measured testing protocols.

I took a 10 mg Valium on 2/24/2017 and had a drug test on 3/10/2017 and tested positive for Benzodiazepines. Could it have stayed in my system for that long? I take Zoloft and Amitriptyline too and I have seen online where Zoloft can have a false positive for Benzodiazepines.

I am a RN. I was picked for a blood random drug screen. I took vistrial this morning for a huge panic attack. I am on a very high dose. Should I be worried that it will show as a false positive for anything.

I had to take a urine test for opioids. I am prescribed Vistaril for my nerves. Will it show up as a benzo on a drug test because the doctor will not give me my opioid medication if Vistaril is not a benzo?

Yes Valium stays in ur system for a long time it can take up to 3 to 4 weeks to get out just from taking one 10mg tablet

Well Jo jo, I know FOR A FACT that vistaril shows up as benzos on a ua. It happened to me & I know FOR a fact what I had & hadn't taken. I have nothing to gain by making this up. Guess I wld have been one of those 3 people huh?

Can Vistaril show up in urine test as alcohol. ??
my testing always shows up positive as booze...Would the Vistaril be the problem???Thank You Folks

I also want to say that I take visteril and Prozac ONLY! Tested positive last night for benzos and was arrested by my probation officer. Later told today by my pharmacist that visteril can Mimi's benzos so it is not as uncommon as some are saying.

Not that rare indeed. Happening to me now. I have nothing to hide or lie about this. I have not had a benzo in two months, started taking vistiral and positive for Zanax. The Dr. said it was a strong reading. I had just taken the vistiral 45 min before the test. Of course my receptionist, therapist, and my Dr. think I am lying. I have 30 days sober. Thats pretty sad to get kicked out of a group that is supporting you and your leaning heavily upon them the first few months of sobriety because of false readings on my drug test.

same here, today and three weeks in a row popped positive for Zanax. I'm using Vistaril for anxiety. My Dr and therapist don't believe me. Now they are considering discharging me. One more and I will be discharged. Talk about anxiety now, wow. One month sober, was beginning to trust therapist, now I'm indifferent towards her and the Dr. treating me like I'm lying. Ill hang in there, Ill stop the vistral for a few days, get tested and then take a vistral and have them test again right at my appointment. It will show up on instant tox. I hope they will oblige

Happening to me right now. Dr. said hes taking me off subs. I have been taking vistril. and popped positive for 3 weeks in a row for a benzo. Sucks when your telling the truth and noone believes you, ecspially your own therapist after getting to trust her. Nowthey think I am lying. I have nothing to gain by lying
