Trying Out Contrave

I spent some time researching this before starting. I was a bit worried about the first 3 days as everyone said they were the worst. I started contrave 3 days ago. Day 1 I felt like I had more energy. My head felt "medicated". Not really foggy or unable to concentrate but a dull numb feeling. Nothing like I had read and prepared mentally for. I also made sure I ate pretty healthy - oatmeal for breakfast, egg salad sandwich for lunch, and dinner I wasn't really all that hungry so I had a few deviled eggs and corn on the cob. Didn't have any issues falling asleep at night.

Day 2 - decided to try out a theory I've had that if you eat bad you feel bad/get side effects. So I had an egg and cheese biscuit with a soda for breakfast and had a dull headache started most of the day. Lunch I wasn't hungry so I had 4 ritz with American cheese on it. For dinner I decided to go all out with 2 slices of pepperoni pizza. About 1/2 hour after eating that I had cramping and diarrhea. But it didn't last long. Prob enough to clean out what I had done. I was more exhausted and actually went to bed.

Day 3 - back to oatmeal for breakfast and again I feel more energy and no side effects. I didn't even finish the bowl. Just felt full. I decided to weigh myself this morning and down 5lbs. Now I do have to say it was the end of my period as well so water weight could have been a valid normal loss as well combined in. Still learning how this all works. Will update again of my progress. So far - stick to non crazy foods and I'm good!

Just wanted to chime in and say thanks for keeping us all posted on your progress with Contrave! You're right that the weight loss could've very well been water weight at the time, although I do believe staying away from all those heavily processed foods will probably make a big difference in the long run when it comes to weight loss. The whole notion of eating bad and feeling bad goes hand in hand with the concept of "you are what you eat". And I hope you're continuing to experience success in this area of your life! I personally have had to make the decision/commitment to myself a number of years ago to eat clean at least 80% of the time, while allowing some room for splurging every so often to help keep me going as a reinforcer. This approach has worked longer than any other I've tried, and I'm finding that meals with higher protein also tend to help curb the appetite... but to each their own. I'll be sure to check back every so often to see how things turn out.
