Tight And Numb On Metoprolol

Updated

Metoprolol Tartrate low dose, but very TIGHT face, neck, head muscles, often coupled with NUMB face and jaw, for hours at a time, sometimes all day and night --- side effects due to the metoprolol? I'm also suffering from tight chest muscles, but often for just a half hour to an hour at a time and feeling that it's hard to breathe / shallow breath (but not sure if the muscle tightness is the cause of the breathing difficulty). Again, might these be side effects? NOTE: It's entirely possible that, instead, I'm simply suffering more and more from weird undiagnosable nerve problems, but I'm worried of course that it could be the medicine, not the condition. BTW, the med is very good at lowering my Blood Pressure.

For anyone taking Metoprolol and experiencing strange symptoms, I have to say you should definitely look it first as the cause, before anything else.

It is well known to cause problems in some people that take it. I tried it twice and experienced different levels of craziness each time.

There's a chance that it may be due to something else, I'm just saying that you should look at it first, then move on if it doesn't prove to be the culprit.

There are plenty of other options available for treating hypertension and most cardiac conditions, so there's no need to keep taking it and be miserable.

Are there any comments or concerns?

I'm having breathing problems with metoprolo. I read you shouldn't take it when you have asthma, but my Dr. prescribed it. Am seeing a new Dr. today.
