Refilling My Valid Xanax Prescription Early (Page 8)

I only see one doctor and he gives me a 3 month supply of xanax. When I went the last time he wrote me out a prescription but I still had two refills. I had a friend and her husband passed away and I gave her some of mine thinking I would have no problem re-filling the prescription. I had sense enough not to go to the same pharmacy and not to give my insurance information. So I go to this small drug store by my house and I had to fill out paperwork such as dob, name and my DL #. Well they paged me to the front of the store and advised me that it was 7 days to early for them to re-fill. So my question is where can I go to re-fill a prescription that is valid written by the same doctor. I only tried one place, I'm guessing they must have a data base if you try and refill your prescription early (even without your insurance) does anyone have advice on where I can go to get this filled?

I sympathize with you, if you file a police report as a personal bag stolen along with other misc. Items is your best bet.I know it's alot of work and I probably wouldn't do it.But you ask for advice it's a avenue that is more to get you there.Also to those who post on here that don't offer advice just a moral grand stand of your way .F**k off.so a friend gave a friend something to help, If it helps great, the drug industry has no morals if they deny you meds prescribe d , if you run short everybody double doses on occasion, the name I chose is part of the jest of this reply.....

It is extremely hard to overdose strictly on benzo's alone unless you takes extreme high dosages! Overdoses in regards to benzo's are usually due to other illegal or prescription narcotics mixed with it such as opiates, coke, alcohol!

while I fully agree that ther needs to be more laws in place these laws need to take into account the people that actualy need them. I also agree this is an unusualy high dose for one person but her friend just lost a loved one so maybe you could be a bit kinder with your militaristic statements. Fortunately this world isn't as black & white as you believe. Your response/mindset is the reason why some people go without help while others abuse the system. If everyone would stop treating like its all or nothing & find a middle ground we the taxpayers & people who need these meds would be much better off. I live in one of if not the most archaic states that is still in the dark ages when it comes to mental health & as soon as I finish my bachelor's I intend to work my ass of to educate as many as possible & try to find ways for both sides to meet in the middle.

I decided to add my personal experience to this to maybe help or gain advice.I get a 3 refill each time I visit my Dr.I travel as my job requires me to, you can 1 transfer per the 3 refills or they have to call your Dr. Who mine is notoriously slow which leaves me waiting at a pharmacy for hours.Even if I point out the date and dosage that shows that its accurate, nothing at all is out of the timeline for refill, I am as polite and understanding to the fact it's there job to follow policy, the fact that others abuse xanax isn't reason enough to me to treat myself and others with all the bs extra precautions , especially when your cards are on the table and as I politely ask a pharmacist once, what is it that you see as a sign of abuse, refill date is correct.I have I.D. prescription bottle and insurance card , It just blows my mind that they cant tell legit from, fraud, and if so the answer is to treat everyone as more of abuser despite the everything in front of them is in line time wise.I think there little war on prescription drug's has the industry so paranoid they can't function with common sense.

I saw doc, got a new prescription for Xanax .25 filled yesterday 9-15-14 The doc put 2 refills on it and I haven't had a prescription of this filled for over 5 months.
When got it back from CVS I got 1 30 month supply, 30 Tabs & no refills and I'm angry because they took it off. I don't abuse it and It costs me a big copay to go see doc. I have insurance and this is just to help keep them rich... who is taking away my refills? CVS or BC/BS Insurance?

Mr. T, probably your State ordinances. That is really crappy as BCBS could care less, I get 90 2mg bars a month through them~

State Laws can be stricter than Federal Laws. Put, your state name Laws AND xanax, in your search bar.

they may have made a mistake just tell the pharmacy to get the original copy and they will look at it it has happened to me, or in some states those pills can only be on hold for 6 months maybe you waited to long after 6 months if you don't use your refills they will need a new RX from you. it sucks

sorry all drug stores are not connected, I know for a fact, If you go to a Walgreen's then all Walgreens are connected, if you go to a Fred Meyer they are all connected, and Albertsons are all connected, but all of them are not one, Just same name stores. try a little mom and pop pharmacy, they usually don't have the computers that big chain stores do good luck

oh brother roger you are really full of yourself. lol it is bad to give some one your medicine but one or two pills wont hurt any one, I would be more concerned about sharing heart or blood pressure meds then a few Xanax get a clue and don't be so stuffy

Not that I agree with people calling you a criminal, but technically it's a federal offense and a felony to share ANY prescription drug OR for your friend to accept said meds. That's punishable with up to 30 years in prison (and I believe even the death penalty in some states) EVEN if you're just trying to help someone out! I'm ONLY saying all this because before you ADMIT for the WORLD to see that you've committed a crime, you might want to think twice... and at LEAST post anonymously.

Having worked in a hospital, I know they can pull data from some source that will show most meds you've had filled at any pharmacy. With the laws so tight now days the anxiety of messing up my Xanax script isn't welcome. That happened when I got a refill of my pain med while on vacation. Never thought this was a problem until I went for the next refill and my home WG said nope. Can only transfer a script once. That episode eventually culminated in WG calling my psychiatrist telling him I was seeing multiple docs and getting multiple meds. He cancelled my Xanax. No one bothered to ask me what was up. He ended up calling in some a half the dose. I've been on it for almost 20 years! Finally cleared it up at my last visit. Now I'm heading south for a few months and don't know what to do about my Xanax.

No your not going to fill it until the 7 days are up unless you can get the pharmacist's himself to hold the prescription and fill it and it's possible if you speak to the pharmacist's himself with a very good explanation!! I hope I helped!

You're referring to state Prescription Monitoring Programs. Pharmacists, Drs and depending on the state law enforcement and others involved in your health care can access your PMP Profile. They can see what rxs you've had filled, the name and contact info for the dr, the doses, the directions, how long the rx is suppose to last, number of refills. your name and personal identifying info, etc. Some states also list the method that you paid for you rx with. This is done in most states with rxs that are Schedule II and Schedule III.

ALL pharmacies are connected to the PMP so if they choose to look you up they can see every prescription you have filled at every store and what date and time! You are referring to the pharmacy's internal system which has nothing to do with the PMP system! The Prescription Managment Program is for Doctors and Pharmacies to monitor controlled substances to make sure over prescribing, doctor shopping, pharmacy hoping and other illegal activities are not going on!

I hate to sound as if I am criticizing you but for your own good and that of your friend you should not have shared this medication! I have a lot of compassion but you should have offered to take your friend to a doctor instead of giving them a prescription medication that was not written for them!

You will not be able to get a refill until it is time because of the Federal Database that tracks this and other types of medications!

I am truly sorry for the position that this has put you in as it is a hard way to learn about the new Data base that has been put in place to try and keep prescription medication from being abused! Again I am truly sorry!
