Rabesec-d Sr

I have been recommended Rabesec-D SR for neck pain, but there has been no improvement. Could you please explain why this medicine was prescribed to me in the first place if it doesn't help with general pain relief?

Himani, this medicine is essentially used to counteract acidity. It contains Rebamipide and Domperidone, which aren't related to pain management.

I found some information on a couple different medications that relate to the one you mentioned in your post. The first is "Rabesec" and contains the active ingredient Rabeprazole. The second is "Raberon- DSR" and also contains the active ingredient Rabeprazole sodium (20 mg) as well as Domperidone(30 mg). Rabeprazole is used for short-term treatment in healing and symptomatic relief of duodenal ulcers and erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Domperidone is primarily used for the treatment of nausea and vomiting but is also used in Italy for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Some side effects of Rabeprazole include (but are not limited to):

headache
abdominal pains
anxiety
arthralgia
asthenia
constipation
diarrhea
dry mouth
erythema
granulocytopenia

Is it possible that your doctor didn't understand when you told him/her about your neck pain? Maybe he/she misinterpreted what you were saying and prescribed you something for throat (esophageal) pain; which could be related to acidity. That's the only reason I can think of as to why this medication was prescribed. You may want to call and make sure he/she understands what type of pain you're dealing with so you can receive appropriate care. I hope this helps!
