White Oblong Pill A 333 Not Working (Page 5)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

Hi I just started taking this A333 white oblong pill. (Generic Percocet. 10/325). I never had this type before and got it due to pharmacy supply. My question is has anyone noticed a difference in pain relief from other brands. Maybe it's me but it doesn't seem to work as well. Can't wait to hear some other input on this. Thanks.

So Confused, Yes, FIL got ill from the A333, he went back to pharmacy and gave them the what for, esp for telling him they were the original Watson, he also called complaint line. he will not take anymore, he had to go back to his dr again, take pills with him and get a different script for a lower dose as almost everyone here carries that nasty pill & the ones that don't, don't have other brands in for the dosage he needed! OMG, I am so so Happy for you that you found something & you are pain free! I am so relieved to hear that the Mallinckroft brand works for you. It always worked for me along with the Amneal Brand. I never heard anything bad about either brand, if I had a problem with a brand, I would of looked to see if anyone else did. the main thing is you are out of pain and you now know what works for you! Different Brands effect people differently, but the Actavis in my opinion has to be the worst there is on market for pain, I mean look how many have had problems that we know of on here, I am sure there are many more. I was just talking to my husband last night about seeing a commercial sometime in the future about this A333 pill. I pray that doesn't happen. That med scares me. If a company had been shut down twice, that should of Told WATSON something about their business practices, but WATSON buys them anyway? Its just sad that a company such as WATSON would market a pill such as the A333 for pain, when it does not provide relief from pain, its causes problems for people & some fairly serious, who knows what it can do if taken for a period of time? Its too risky for me. Anyway, I am very happy that you found some relief. Oh No I did not know about facebook, interesting. thanks for letting me know.

Today I have some info about a new, and dangerous pain pill that's killing people, the name of it is, "Zohydro", it came in my email along with a Petition to sign...since we cannot post links here, I'll be going to their social media page and posting it there....hopefully all of you will go there and sign it. *Sigh* there will be more info. about it on their page.

First...Brian, I went to Walmarts this morning because I was told they had 'Amneal', they did just Not in 7.5-325mgs! It depends on which milligram you take, I ended up with 'Mallinckrodt' which I'll admit, I wasn't thrilled about because of all the bad things I've heard....about an hour and a half later, I finally got them (had to do with my ins.) when all along all they had to do was cause CVS to get the info.! I was in so much pain I could hardly walk to my car but people can say what they want about, 'Mallinckrodt'....it works (so far), for me and I have a high tolerance!! Yay!! First time I've been pain free and no side effects in a month....thank God!! :) Good luck Brian~

Hi Sunni (big smile), hope all is well with you, have you heard from your FIL yet? Sure hope he isn't having any problems!
I googled Actavist and came across (in a PDF), where their office in N.J. had been shut down, then reopened and pretty sure shut down yet again....well what I told you about earlier...also a couple of pharmacies have told me that they've had a few phone calls asking if they sold Actavist....watch...one day we'll see that commerical on TV, where it says if you've taken "this medicine" to call the Attorney's number listed! Lol~ it can't be soon enough! I saw where you said it had been confirmed "that Walgreens is now carrying the A333 pill" etc.....them, CVS/Rite-Aid...and not just the A333 pill but the A332 (7.5-325) as well!

I'm trying to think if that's all....by the time I scroll alllll the way up to the messages, I end up forgetting something....lol....sure would be nice if this reply box was closer to all the comments. ;) Oh! Did you know this site is also on Facebook? When I get an email alerting me there's a reply to this thread, I noticed it yesterday....I'll blame it on the pain for me not noticing it earlier.....I hit the 'Like' button on it last night... I feel so much better! Thanks to all that have posted on here, especially Sunni!

Time to eat so take care all, I'll still stop by but getting that 'needs to be reviewed' is bugging me a tad....I mean a few of us are like Regulars' here...lol....good luck to all in finding something other then Actavis and hope your FIL isn't going through what we did Sunni

Brian, I have never had a problem with the Mallinckrodt or Amneal Brands, potency was much better than Actavis which I found to give No relief from pain whatsoever. I would take those 2 brands over the Actavis anyday.

Same thing just happened to me. I spent half the day yesterday looking for Watson brand. My last script was from CVS and they gave me Actavis, which I found to be not nearly as potent as the Watson's I had been getting. No issues with nausea or anything else, just potency. So finally last night at about 9 pm I called Walgreen's and they said they have Watson's in stock. So I go there this morning and get it filled, open the package and sure enough, it said Actavis on the bottle. I complained to the pharmacist but she said they must have run out (right - between 9 pm last night and when they opened this morning). I just found out since I got home and did some research on Actavis that they bought Watson's and it's the same stuff I've been getting. So anyway I'm stuck for another month on these. Don't know what to do next month though, as the only other one's I found were Mallinkckrodt, which many others have complained about online (potency) and Amneal (at Walmart) which many have said are horrible and would never go back to. I guess I'll need to ask my insurance company about the cost of name brand or try to get my doctor to switch me to something else.

Selena, I tried to reply to this already however it stated under review? never had that happen before. Anyway, thank-you for the research you did, interesting about the ingredients. I just avoid Actavis/Watson all together now due to they are one and the same company now. It has been confirmed that Walgreens is now carrying the A333 pill & telling patients it is the regular Watson. My FIl had to get a script last night, went to Walgreens & they told him, we carry the old Watson just like always, Not True, they gave him the A333 pill. I have not heard if he experienced any problems as of yet, I surely hope not. IDk know if different pill lots make a difference or not, but I have to avoid this A333 pill. I have taken the Amneal & Mallinckrodt Brands and Never experienced a problem with these Brands. Good Luck to you, I hope you find relief soon.

So Confused, After seeing your latest post, I take a different Dosage than you do, but I can say I have taken Amneal & Mallinckrodt Brands of my Dosage which is 10/325, I have taken 5/325. I have not taken 7.5/325. I have taken the original Watson Brand as well. Some will say that nothing works as good as the original Watson, however, I would avoid the Actavis Brand all together. I Never had problems with either Amneal or Mallinckrodt Brands. Good Luck to you & I sincerely hope you find some relief from your pain. This is a horrible experience for many people that need the med & cannot get relief from the Actavis A333 pill. Just a reminder that Actavis is now Watson, so avoid.

So confused -I really hope the brands I suggested will help you as much as they helped me. They are definitely Better then the A333 pill, of course anything is better then that med. Good Luck. Oh & yes all the abusers & pill mill drs have ruined this for people who truly need the medication, it's very sad! Very interesting about Actavis had been shut down, that should of been a warning to Watson who bought Actavis & is using the Actavis Name now! Again good luck & keep us posted!

So Confused, Yes I have heard and taken both the Amneal & Mallinckrodt Brands and they are just fine, actually just like the old Watson & I currently take the Amneal Brand and have no Problems at all. The other Brand Alvogen, I have Never heard about or taken, but the other 2, I had No problems and currently take the Amneal Brand. I wouldn't refill the A333 if your still having side effects, try the others, they are fine. It is definitely confirmed that all Walgreens now carry the Actavis A333 med, my FIL had to get a script filled and sure enough Walgreens told him sure we have the Watson, just like always and he received the A333 pill this evening, I have not heard if he has had any problems or not yet, but will let you know. Hope this helps some and you find some relief. I would go with the Amneal or the Mallinckrodt Brand, definitely not the A333. Just my opinion and experience with these brands. Good Luck to you

I give up! I called more places today (script gets filled tomorrow, 26th), just about everyone has Actavis....I did find one that has...Alvogen....Amneal and Mallinkroft [sp] which is suppose to be bad,,,,the 1st two I named off, the one's that start with an "A", I've never heard of either of them, has anyone here??
I went to Actavis website and after digging around, found the Inactive Ingred.s, which were the same as what Selenapissedoff listed....it did have, "OXYCODONE HYDROCHLORIDE, ACETAMINOPHEN", mine was in a PDF file.Since I can't find Watson any longer, didn't check what their inactive ingred.s are, rather, were....The Actavist Co. in NJ has been shut down, then a year or two later, reopened...can't remember if they ended up getting shut down again, then reopened as I spent hours on this...but did read and CVS said it was true where the DEA are now making it harder because of all the ones that abuse this medicine and I'm sure others. Reckon I'm going to try it again (seeing as I don't have much of a choice) and if I get sick again, will contact my pain management dr and see if he'll exchange the rest of the pills I have and just give me a script for 5 mg.s since Actavis hasn't got ahold of them....yet! Also, if you read my 1st or 2nd post here, you'll see my symptons are different then everyone elses so maybe something else caused the problems I was having??? I don't know, hopefully someone here has heard of the companies I listed above and can tell me something about them (fingers crossed to hear tonight...it's 7:02 PM (EST) here in NC. This is sad...so sad! Thanks for messing us up abusers!!!

Selena, that's interesting about the ingredients, personally I don't believe the A333 pill has Any Oxycodone or acetaminophen in it! More like aspirin - I certainly did not feel any relief at all or even the same after taking one of those of nasty pills. If there really is oxycodone in it, it has to be the smallest % ever, I felt no pain reliever in this medication. Its the cheapest of the cheapest knock-off version of the old Watson. really I believe they are trying to take oxycodone off the market because of so much abuse problems, this is their way I guess to make everyone sick. I have nothing good to say about the Actavis A333 pill, it poisoned me & I have proof from the ER stating it did. It has caused a lot of problems for me and others as well, it should be taken off the market. It scares me to think that this pill is being sold and supplied to pharmacies as the real deal as it is NOT the real thing.

Hey Sunni I did some research and this is what I found! The Actavis brand oxycodone here is what is in them # Croscarmellose Sodium, Crospovidone, Silicon Dioxide (Colloidal), Microcrystalline Cellulose, Stearic Acid, Povidone, Pregelatinized Starch, and the ACTIVE Ingredient is OXYCODONE HYDROCHLORIDE, ACETAMINOPHEN..For the regular brand the ( Watson ) it has this in it..Crospovidone, Silicon Dioxide (Colloidal), Microcrystalline Cellulose, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Stearate, Povidone, Pregelatinized Starch..**So when I compared it the only thing missing from the ACTAVIS brand was this was this (Magnesium Stearate). Anyways they are renaming stuff and changing things around to confuse people. I hope this helps with wanting to know what was in it.

So Confused: I have high HBP so I am not one to answer your question about HBP due to this med, however, I do know that severe pain also causes your BP to rise & having HBP can cause your potassium to be off. Hopefully tomorrow you can call you dr and get this resolved. I have learned that calling pharmacies about this type of med in particular is not the way to go about it as from what my pharmacist told me, they are not allowed to give info out about pain meds on phone, you must go there in person, where we live, we have a terrible abuse problem, pharmacies, hospitals & dr office's are on high alerts. The only dr's around this area that write scripts for pain are pain management dr's, no other dr's will or can anymore because of the abuse in this area, well State really. I realize its probably a hassle for you to go check out pharmacies in person, but that might be the way you have to go, its just a suggestion for you. Maybe your area/State has different rules, but its worth a try to go in person to pharmacies to check for sure. I hope you find some relief & answers soon. Take Care.

That's strange, I sent a message yesterday and got the reply it had to be checked out first....not exact words there now...maybe cause it was so long? I'd love to know the different ingredients between the old Watson and Actavis! I went to ER but the only thing they told me was my potassium was low..2.9..I called several pharmacies today and all of them carry Actavis!
Is Anyone else's BP high cause mine is and it's always been normal. Ok, this is all I'm saying in case this message doesn't get posted either.....hope all is doing better~

Just got the A332 after about 3 years of Watson 933. I used to have my day wonderfully planned out to five half Watsons. One half before work, one half at noon, one half at three, one half before bed. If I woke up during the night and couldn't get back to sleep I had one half left to finish the night. I would sail through the month and come out having used exactly what was on the prescription. I was *managing* my pain. Seemed like a good outcome. One month, a couple of years ago, I got annoyed with the paternal attitude of the local Walgreens (I'm 64) and went across the street to the pharmacy within a now defunct market. I think that was my first experience with Actavis. Instead of pain relief I got dizzy, and disoriented. The only solution was to go to bed until it wore off. Last month Walgrees ran out of the Watsons and I refused to leave the window before they came up with a solution to get me through the month. They called the Medical Center I use and finding my Dr. unavailable, got another doctor to OK a 15mg straight Oxycodone tablet with only one pill per day and no Acetaminophin. I was unable to *manage* this tiny pill. To cut it into 5ths would have been impossible, by the end of the day I was draggin'. I had to decide which was more important, working or sleeping. I chose sleeping, but by the time 2/3rds of the month was gone so were the pills. Knowing the wringer that I would have to go through if I asked for a new prescription, I decided just to gut out the last of the month and put in my normal request at the normal time. My tenacity paid off when, after waiting 3 days to hear that my normal prescription was waiting, I was instead summoned into an examination room and told that I could have my prescription... after I gave them a UA. Then when I get to the pharmacy I find out that the Watsons are no longer available. Great.

I came home from work tonight thinking that I would take one Actavis 7.5/325, TWICE what I normally take, and get the best rest I've had in weeks. No, actually, it would be 35 days since my last Watson. I took that new Actavis at 8pm and readied myself for bed. It's 11:24. I took an Advil about a half hour ago. I'm starting to get some relief.

Hi all, what I do is ask if they have Watson 933 (or 932.....I take 7.5), and not the Actavis brand, just name off what was on your last pill (the info should be the bottle), I've only had the Actavis once, my next refill is on 2/26 and trust me I will NOT be getting Actavis!! I went to Urgent Care with how I've been feeling and told them how it's affecting the people here and they just ignore me, same with when I went to ER yesterday....but I'm not throwing up....my BP is high, real high/No energy/stay sleepy/sick to my stomach (not all the time)/there's more but none that anyone here has mentioned. ER didn't do nothing for the reasons I went there, they did find out my Potassium was low....2.9......it's been low before but my BP was 185/114 the first time, after that it went from 175/105....152/101 (or 107) then when releasing me, right arm was 157/115, so then the guy pops up and says, 'let me check her other arm' (sorry hospital), ok that was 157/124, they just look at each other (grrrrr) by that time I had, had it cause the whole time I was there the only med I got was a 5mg Per., none of my other meds which include 1 1/2 Xanax every 4 hours.....Nitro patch....no need to name the rest off unless ya just want to know....anyway we're not suppose to take our own meds but I told them 30 min.s before they took those 2 BPs, I had taken a 1mg Xanax since no one will give me the meds I'm suppose to take, I'd of thought that Xanax would of lowered my BP, wouldn't you? (I'm trying to make this short)...when the Dr. comes in with my release papers, I asked her, what about the reason I came in, why wasn't I treated for them? She told me to go see my regular Dr., I said, "My regular Dr. sent me here"!!!! By now I am mad....told her I wasn't signing any release papers as I don't think I should be released (oh yeah, confusion was another sympton I had), and as we're having bad weather, if I get in a wreck, I will sue her and the hospital! (not a first for that hospital), get home, go to sleep, wake up and look at the 7 pages of paperwork she gave me, okay knew I had a script for Potassium but then I read where she had diagnosed me with "elevated BP....Hypertension" WT??? No script for that? Since it said, "very high BP is a medical emergency"? And she released me? (normal BP runs around 130/80 or 90) I'll end with this, I will be reporting her and....I love on the 1st page how it talks about, 'it's impossible to recognize and treat all elements of an injury or illness in a single ER Dept visit"!!! Excuse me but isn't that why one would be admitted then???? I look forward to discussing this with my Dr., the one who told me to call 911 and not drive! (sorry for getting off topic) hope all has a good week end~

Julie, Please ask Walgreens if the Watson they carry is the A333 pill as Watson/Actavis is now one and the same company. Our Walgreens here in Fl say they carry the Watson brand when in fact it is this A333 pill. So far CVS, Walgreens & some local pharmacies are now carrying this A333 pill, so no matter if a pharmacy states they are carrying the Watson, it could very well be the A333 pill. My pain management dr has now wrote my scripts saying Patient Must Not receive the Actavis/Watson Brand A333 med! I had to go to ER due to taking this A333 pill and was DX with medication poisoning - I was terribly ill and continue to have upper GI problems because of this med. I URGE everyone experiencing side effects from this med to call Actavis Hotline and report it. The more reports they receive, maybe they will actually look into this med. There is something in it that is not right. There also has to be something going with this med as Actavis has called me 4 times regarding my report and Watson has also called me, I also received a letter from Actavis/Watson stating they take strict measurements to ensure a med is ok, FDA approved, but they will report my complaint to the FDA and my report will be in their database. I think this medication needs to be pulled from market asap and the more reports made about it, the more likelihood this will happen, but you must submit a report on this.

Hey has anyone gotten chest pains, as well as numbness in the arm, due to taking the A333 pill from CVS by Actavis. I got it last month as well thought okay I will try it since they was out of the "Watson" I have always gotten. I started getting this funny taste in my mouth, as well as interjection, chest pain, heart burn, numbing in arm,.I didn't pick up that it may be the Oxyocode cause I have been taking it for awhile with no problems. Then last month I noticed when I got them my pain level was unbearable, I lost sleep, and all the symptoms started. I still did not connect it to the pain meds A333 till this month Feb 18 when I got mine refilled and I got those again. I took 1 and right after that the symptoms came. I am already on other meds for blood pressure issue and if this is some way to control our meds by the FDA, I really don't think it is at all fair. I have done research and I don't see it as the newly released abuse-deterrent pill. That pill seems to be more like a gel or spongy form of pill. I think this pill has something else in it. Could be dangerous to people life. I am not asking it is but look at the complaints it has had since the Dec/Jan 2014. It is just strange that No one seem to have your medicine when Actavis got the approval by the FDA. FDA is so worried about people lives they need to look into what that pill has in it. That is a health issue in itself.

I just called Walgreens here in Indiana and they carry the Watson brand. Unfortunately I have to wait a month to get it due to my insurance. I swear though, even taken two of these a 333, it's still does not work as good as one of the Watson brand. So I am in the same boat as you, hoping I don't run out in the next month.
Good luck with your weather there. Here in northern Indiana it's actually starting to warm up a little and I see signs of the snow starting to melt.
